The promenade where attack took place, after a fence was erected

Cement columns erected at Armon Hanatziv to protect against future vehicular attacks

Following last week's deadly vehicular terrorist attack in Armon Hanatziv Promenade, the Jerusalem Municipality has begun erecting cement pillars along the promenade to prevent cars from veering onto the promenade, either by accident or as part of a similar attack.

Ten days after the deadly vehicular terrorist attack in Armon Hanatziv Promenade in East Talpiot, Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Municipality has begun erecting cement pillars along the promenade to prevent cars from veering off the road and onto the boardwalk. This was done to protect passersby from further vehicular attacks and accidents. Protective measures were already taken the day after the attack, when a temporary fence was set up all along the boardwalk.

The attack included a Palestinian truck driver who deliberately rammed into pedestrians on a popular promenade overlooking the walled Old City of Jerusalem. Four soldiers—Erez Orbach, Shira Tzur, Shir Hajaj and Yael Yakutiel—were killed, and 15 others were injured. Shaare Zedek Medical Center issued a statement, saying that the soldier who was critically wounded in the attack, has successfully undergone orthopedic surgery.
