Safe and golf cart from robbery

Thieves steal thousands in kibbutz heist

The brazen early morning robbery was part of what police believe to be a series of thefts from kibbutzim and moshavim by the same gang; NIS 500,000 in checks and NIS 30,000 in cash stolen.

A gang of robbers broke into Kibbutz Karmia in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council Tuesday morning where they stole the community's safe.

According to police, the robbers uprooted the safe and then placed it on a golf cart belonging to one of the kibbutz members before fleeing through the back gate. They then proceeded to a predetermined location, where they cracked the safe and emptied it of all valuable contents.
