Netanyahu calls on Iran's FM Zarif to delete Twitter account

After Zarif tweets that all Iranians were part of the Revolutionary Guard, Netanyahu posts video on his own Twitter account saying, 'I'd love to know what the Iranian people think of that tweet. Sadly, the regime bans them from using Twitter. Ironic, don't you think?'

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday to delete his Twitter account.

In a video posted on his own Twitter account, Netanyahu issued a response to a tweet Zarif wrote earlier in which he claimed all Iranian men and women were part of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

"I'd love to know what the Iranian people think of that tweet," Netanyahu wondered aloud, quickly adding: "Sadly, the regime bans them from using Twitter. Ironic, don't you think?"

He went on to say that "Apparently, I have a higher opinion of the Iranian people than their leaders," explaining he did not believe Iranian citizens are proud when the IRGC murders innocent people in terror attacks around the world and in Iran itself.

"One day the Iranian people will be free. Free to tweet, free to express how they felt when their dictators compared them to the Iranian version of ISIS," Netanyahu added.
