New assault charges against woman behind Ichilov attack

Amended indictment filed against Elia Kadosh, suspected of orchestrating an attack on security guards at the Ichilov Hospital, after she assaulted a taxi driver and a police officer on two separate occasions, both after the initial incident.

An amended indictment was filed Sunday against Elia Kadosh two weeks after she was charged with orchestrating an attack on security guards at the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

The amended indictment includes charges concerning an attack against a taxi driver at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon and the assault of a police officer at the Abarbanel Center of Mental Health in Bat Yam.

While on house arrest, Kadosh left her home unsupervised and took a taxi to the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon. Before setting off, the driver told the defendant the trip would cost her NIS 110, a fare she allegedly agreed to pay.

According to the indictment, upon arriving at the hospital, Kadosh refused to pay the agreed upon sum and exited the taxi. The driver followed her out of the taxi in order to collect the fare.

After an argument between the defendant and the driver, which included an exchange of insults, Kadosh allegedly attacked the driver, slapping him forcefully. She also threatened him, saying "You should move, because I'm completely pissed off. I'll break your face. If you touch me, I'll beat you up, I'll sit shiva (the Jewish mourning period) on you."

According to the second new charge, on October 14 the defendant was at the Abarbanel Center of Mental Health in Bat Yam for a court-mandated evaluation, accompanied by a police officer.

Kadosh ignored the police officer's instructions and asked another patient to enter her room. She later prevented the patient from leaving by blocking the door.

The police officer tried to remove Kadosh from the door, and she allegedly assaulted him, hitting him in the face and upper body, trying to bite him and kicking him in the chest several times.

A second police officer who arrived at the scene was able to help the first officer subdue Kadosh and put handcuffs on one of her hands. Kadosh then emptied a bottle of Coca Cola she found nearby on the first police officer.

Last week, the Tel Aviv District Court remanded Kadosh to a hospital for psychiatric hospitalization. The prosecution argued that while an initial psychiatric evaluation found Kadosh fit to stand trial, there is still need of an overall psychiatric evaluation.
