Trump's Jerusalem declaration stars in caricatures

Next week's comics and cartoons festival in Migdal HaEmek will feature an art exhibit focusing on Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

The artistic staff at next week's Migdal HaEmek festival for animation, comics and caricatures have chosen to focus on US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

"We were able to, at the last moment, put together a quality exhibit on Trump and Jerusalem," said the festival's art director Nissim Hizkiyahu.

"This is the seventh year that the festival is taking place in Migdal HaEmek and will include three exhibits: One will deal with Trump's declaration and the others will deal with Israel's 70th anniversary," said Nissim.

Hundreds of cartoons from Israel's best caricaturists will be featured including Guy Morad, Michel Kichka, Itamar Daube, Amos Ellenbogen, Moshik Lin and others," he continued.

He also said that most of the artists believe that the damage caused by the declaration was in its timing and not in it of itself and treated the matter with biting sarcasm. The festival is a rare opportunity to expose residents of the Israeli periphery to the world of caricature.

Migdal HaEmek mayor Eli Barda expressed pride in his city for hosting the festival and invited the population to come and enjoy it.
