One of the suspected robbers was injured and arrested by the police. He was then taken to hospital for medical treatment.
At around 1:40 am, two armed suspects entered the supermarket, apparently in order to carry out a robbery.
A police investigation revealed that they had attacked Duek, who was standing at the entrance, hit him in the head and snatched his gun. He was apparently killed by the hits to his head, but the police did not rule out the possibility that he was shot.
After snatching the gun, one of the suspects began firing at the people in the area, while the other one run to the main cash register and snatched a bag of cash and checks from the cashier.
At this stage, he was attacked by the other security guards and some of the shoppers and was stabbed in his chest. The other suspect jumped on his motorcycle and fled the scene.

The suspect who remained at the store sustained moderate to serious wounds and was rushed to the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, where he underwent surgery.
Immediately after the incident, a Magen David Adom crew arrived at the supermarket and began attending to the injured. Another security guard, who was wounded during the struggle with the suspect, was taken to the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.
Large police forces arrived at the scene of the crime and arrested the suspect. Meanwhile, police forces began searching for the second suspect, setting up roadblocks in the area.
