Being British is about having two faces, double standards and a total incapacity to view oneself in the standards you hold others to. The spineless incapacitated clenched sphincter British Academy, should first and foremost be kicked out of Israel along with all of it's appalling degree selling Universities such as Derbi, Manchester etc.. The American equivalent are far superior in content and ideas, and also more appreciated and recognized in Israel and abroad. The British academy has nothing it can offer to Israelis; they're demure, unimaginative and lacking in fresh ideas – In short they're on an intellectual, ideological and technological sabbatical. They have far more to loose from this boycott than the Israeli academia, who will continue to share advanced technology and medical research with others more deserving. This is really about having a pet cause for the British academia's anoraks and bores to discuss in a drizzling afternoon at the Pub – a bunch of insignificant pishers.

This is one of the most hypocritical and anti-semitic things I've seen in a while. Why aren't they boycotting Iranian, Saudi Arabian, Egyptian, Syrian, Chinese, and etc. Universities. However the true irony in all this is that in boycotting Haifa university, they are hurting palestinians aswell. Haifa University has one of the largest Arab Student and Faculty in Israel. It is considered one of the places where Jews and Arabs are making headway in cooperation and understanding. Obviously I see the AUT wishes to stop this kind of action. For we know that they do not want Jews in any equation. The issue over Haifa university censoring acedemics, is quite honestly not telling the whole story. The issue revolves around a viruently anti-Israel (and self hating Jew) Ilan Pappe. He has consistently participated in events that demonize Israel. His hatred and bias no know bounds. The fact that he was one of the people who called for the boycott (of his own employer for that matter), shows he is not fit for employment, and that he should terminated.

The only rational response to the British Academy's boycott is through Israeli brainpower and ingenuity.(something the Brits are sorely lacking in and very envious of!) So, the facts are that an organization that votes to boycott a University for a lack of academic freedom allows no dissent from its political agenda.
