Does nobody understand? It is not a surprise that the call for boycotting Israeli institutions could come up after the International court in The Hague which Israel refused to comply with.

Israel, the cherished Holy Land of Jews and Christians, is the greatest prize of all In the global jihad. There NEVER was an Arab country of Palestine. Jerusalem was NEVER the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Jerusalem is mentioned over 800 times in the Bible, not once in the Koran! Arab Muslims FIRST took the name "Palestinians" in 1967. Arafat was the FIRST leader of this NEW PEOPLE. Before 1948, Jews were known as Palestinians! After Jews miraculously transformed desert and swamp into rich, agricultural land, a large number of Arabs from Arab countries went to Palestine for jobs from the Jews. The fact that Arab Muslims had resided only briefly in Palestine is shown by the special UN decree: that any Arab who had resided in Palestine for only 2 years before 1948 and then left, would be considered a refugee and so would his descendants!!!

first, i was on the fence about this decision and still am. to hear mr. avnery make his case, it is very difficult not to agree with him. i mean, you cannot deny that ariel is as illegal as it gets, an illegal settlement found and upkept by military force is just uncounsionable even though some of you feel justified by bullying your way onto land. the term 'severe violation of international law' is really an understatement, i'm glad mr. avnery was able to not step up rhetoric but rather call a spade a spade. secondly, i understand the universitys position as well, considering only one of their campuses abuses and takes part in the occupation. plus, one could argue that education is exempt from politics. so i understand their position. in the end, i think i have to agree with uri. he is a courageous and noble man who exemplifies a man capable of recognizing truth and fact instead of zealotry and racism. btw, i would NOT call him 'far left'. maybe in this day and age, but 20 years ago he would be considered center of the line and i think in the next 10 years that will be true again. someone should seriously think about nominating him for a nobel peace prize.

Universities hire employees to be of service to the school, not to destroy it. Fire the bum. The british let the islamic terrorists kill Jews in Hebron in 1929 and they have not gotten any smarter since then. Ariel is legal, for it was won in a defensive war agaisnt Jordan. Who at that time was controlling Judea and Samaria. They attacked after having been tricked by the Egyptians after telling them that blips on radar were the Egyptian airforce (in actuallity it was the IAF returning). This attack was a complete act of aggresion because Israel had sent many lines to Jordan not to attack. Therefore Israel has the right to take a defensive bumper. Uri is a self-hating Jew. While you enjoy ignoring this, in any other country in the middle east if he had slammed that country much the same way he does to Israel (or have praised Israel in an Arab country), then he would have been lynched at the minimum. Yet this freedom of speech ( and academic freedom that follows with it) you hail and praise can only be found in Israel in the middle east. It truly says something about the AUT boycott (that its so overtly hypocratic and anti-semitic is reeks of the year 1939). It's their loss. Israel universities contribute so much to the world in terms of research and discoveries that this boycott just exposes the perpetrators as being entirely unacademic. I wonder how long the boycott would last if someone at the university in Ariel discovered a cure for all the cancers. Then wouldn't all the political manipulations become irrelevant.

first, the west bank is not ocuupied ,but liberated---see the san remo convention of 1920. the entire west bank was awarded to the jews. you and the rest of the arabs are too ignorant to realize it, and just repeat ,like a mantra--- " occupation"! as if , the ant israel opininos are not new ,nor are they of any relevance. thirdly, the brits and rest of the world ,eventually begin to boycott you , the arabs . it's just a matter of time......
