as an arab, I realy and truly beleive that israel has the right to live in peace and security within recognized borders. Arabs need to stop immagining vain things. Israel is strong and God is with Her. The Jews are God's people and the Lord will not abandon THEM.

I agree with you that with "strength", Israel will be respected, but the question ism how much time does strength buy Israel? ONLY a full Israeli withdrawal from ALL occupied Arab lands since June 4th, 1967 war would buy Israel a CHANCE of a long lasting peace with the Arabs, and that is a fact that every sane Israeli and Arab recognize but until it is implemented the current cycle of violence, attacks and counter attacks and bullying will go on for time and time to come! Finally there are few possible options since it is clear that no one (Israel or the Arabs) can completely wipe out the other, one is for Israel to keep the status quo along with the current occupation and be in a war with just about all of its neighbors (I think has chosen this option and is rather very attached to it) or withdraw from all occupied Arab lands since June 4th, 1967 war and start to build a bridge between her and the Arabs!

Abdullah, I definitely support and agree with what you are saying. Although, I dont think that Israel should withdraw from ALL of the '67 lands (because those borders are indefensible) it is clear that there will not be any chance for real peace as long as Israel occupies the Palestinians land and doesnt allow them to have a real state. The Palestinians have much blame to accept for the conflict, but that doesnt mean that Israel shouldnt recognize their own faults and responsibilities. Adina, I agree that Israel should respond forcefully to Hezbollah (and is fully justified in doing so) but its not helpful to use racist generalizations about the "Arabs." People use similar generalizations about Israeli's and Jews and therefore we should know of all people its wrong to paint all Arabs with the same brush. While we should fight groups like Hezbollah with all our strength, we (and this goes for all of the people in the mideast) have to realize that we are neighbors and have to live together. We cant just wipeout our enemies.

Dear Linda, I cannot agree with you more about the atrocities that were committed by the so called Muslims to Christians in Sudan, I am very ashamed to what they have done and I do recognize such behaviors and actions as terrorist actions and I call upon Allah to punish them for the crimes they have committed against their fellow human beings regardless of color, religion or sect! I also care less about what is your interpretations of what our Holly Quran said or how many times it mentioned Jerusalem, and I reject the idea of basing fate of a Holy City that is holly equally to all three major religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) on one Holly book! What I said in my earlier post, was the only possible and realistic option to having peace between the two people and I know that it is hard on both sides and WILL require painful concessions on both sides, but that is the true fact and both people must be brave enough to achieve it! We can spend days and days talking about what the Holly Bible, the Holly Torah, or the Holly Quran, said or mentioned regarding the holly land, Jerusalem…etc. But that won’t be a realistic thing to do in a 21st century, would it? All people, Jews or non Jews, have an equal right to their holly lands, and no power in the world would be strong enough to impose any other option for too long, both Jews and non-Jews who reside in the holly land have a right to live in a country of their choosing with full sovereignty, Israel and a meaningful Palestine living side by side, sharing holly land evenly just so people from both sides will lose the urge to fighting each other and live in peace. Israeli invaded Lebanon, Israel was occupying south Lebanon till it was forced out from it in 1999. Israel still is occupying Golan Heights, East Jerusalem, Gaza and the West Bank which has been condemned by the world. Israel is violating Labanese air space daily without any provocation. In your response to Linda, you breezed right over some very important and accurate points that she made. What about the fact that The Bible constantly refers to Israel as the holy land of the Jews, but is not even mentioned in the Koran? Is that not noteworthy? I find it fascinating. Also, why do you refer to Israel as "occupied lands" when it was taken from the Jews by Arabs? Who is the occupier? And why are Muslims who commit mass murder and atrocities against Christians "So called" Muslims? Does the Koran not say that it is OK to deal with people who are against Allah with force? Finally, I think you are right and everyone would agree that it would be best if we could all live together side by side in peace. But that is difficult when one group is on record for saying that they want to "Drive the other into the sea."
