1. Mission Self-Destruct
Jonathan ,   Tel Aviv   (05.20.05)
So no one of any consequence in D.C. will take a meeting with Steve! Well since Steve has surrounded himself with "brain surgeon" political appointees from the Likud Central Committee (all foreign policy experts)...Maybe he should ask them why he's getting the silent treatment! A blind man can figure it out! Every time Steve opened his mouth to challenge the Prime Minister's Gaza plan...whether it was a Likud Central Committee meeting, a press briefing to party hacks, meetings with other Ministers and MK's...Dan Kurzer's able staff would fire off another cable back to the folks inside the Beltway alerting them to the fact that once again Steve isn't a team player...Not only is he rocking Sharon's boat but by osmosis also the SS GWB! Then to add insult to injury, every time Judy gets involved in some Ministry goings-on, it further proves what a light-weight Shalom is and keep him the heck away from the real work that needs to be done in D.C. I JUST HOPE THAT THE FIRST LADY'S ADVANCE TEAM DOES THE SMART THING...AND AFTER JUDY DOES THE "CLUTCH" WITH THE FIRST LADY AT THE AIRPORT, THEY SEND RAMAT GAN'S "FIRST FRECHAH" ON HER WAY...AND DO NOT FORCE LAURA BUSH TO HAVE TO LISTEN TO JUDY FOR THE RIDE BETWEEN NATBAG AND JERUSALEM! IF DAN KURTZER WANTS TO KEEP HIS JOB, THEY'LL TELL JUDY THAT THE FIRST LADY IS TIRED AND NEEDS THE QUIET TIME ALONE IN THE MOTORCADE TO HER HOTEL!
2. Why there is no Hebrew Version?
Arie Taitler ,   Brussells, Belgium   (05.20.05)
I wander why this article is not published in the Hebrew version - this another front of alegations against poor foreign minister who is attacked now a days by Maariv and by members of Kneset and by workers of foreign minister, and now apparently he is not popular also in US - and the only place that he is still popular is in the Likud party,if the editor wanted to protect him, by not publishing the Hebrew version, then he did more damage then procting him, as we now understand that he is protected by the newspaper owned by his wife's familly...
3. sylvan
ozy ,   deep south   (05.20.05)
is nothing but a 2 bit, low life loser. can't speak any english ,has the manners of an army cook, and handles himself as a hot shot. he's all show ,no go!
4. Ego maybe?
Ian ,   Sydney Australia   (05.21.05)
Does Silvan have a HUGE ego? Sure. I think thats self-evident. Thats one part of the problem I'd venture to say that the other side of the issue is that he was perhaps closer with the more 'moderate' voices in the Republican party in the US. Those voices, have now been replaced, in particular Colin Powell whom Silvan seemed to have a good relationship with. There are always two sides to the story.
5. Two Words

HIS WIFE
6. FM and PM both are one and very close
Sal Azam ,   Chicago, USA   (05.21.05)
Sharon and Silvan Shalom are one people. All this not getting appointments by the U.S government is happening because of the defiant Israeli policy on its road map commitments. Which is no to the Road map and yes to occupation and contining with building illegal settlements. The U.S will decisively put pressure on Sharon and put him along with his gang on run with its new more aggressive and straight forward policy in the Middle east. Silvan Shalom is a Sharon clone. No surprise on this.
7. AIPAC scandal
Mike ,   USA   (05.21.05)
and perhaps the fact that the US has found 4 spies in the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee. Israeli/American men that helped orchestrate the phony reasons we went to war in Iraq. The FBI is ALL over Aip[ac- and most liekly Aipac will have to register as a foreign govt. now. boohoo.
8. Not a surprise
JOSH ,   ramat-gan   (05.21.05)

9. That's his reward for marrying a Material Girl

So, now that Mr. Barnea has gotten it all out of his system, what do we have? We have everything except for an explanation as to how an attentive, quick, open and inviting Minister, as stated by Mr. Barnea in the first paragraph, either no longer possesses those attributes or, if he still is imbued with these qualities, doesn't deserve to continue his service to his country, even if he has flaws.
