Ahmad Abouali ,   Nablus, palestine   (06.07.05)
going after a group that has a ceasfire with israel via the Egyptians and the PA will prompt a reaction fron the group. so, israel will pay for this Rambo-like action, and guess who will pay: innocent israelis like the innocent Palestinians whom been paying dearly for the Israeli fascist occupaiton.
2. Ahmad - ceasefire?
Michael ,   Jeru, Israel   (06.07.05)
Presumably when you talk about teh group that has a ceasefire with Israel you weren't talking about Islamic Jihad? Ahmad - WAKE UP! Last week, they tried to carry out a double terror bombing in Jerusalem - in a synagogue, cafe or bus. That's the Moslem idea of a ceasefire? HAHAHAHAHAHA
3. Wake up
(06.07.05)
So,people in Kabatia "rioted"!!! When U will wake up to the fact that UR occupying Palestine & people resist U rather than "riot"

Noah ,   Ontario, Canada   (06.07.05)
Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibilty for the suicide bombing in February, after the ceasefire was declared. They have also claimed responsibilty for numerous attempts at other suicide bombings since, all of which have been prevented by the IDF at checkpoints. Now tell me, since the Islamic Jihad are not adhering to the ceasefire, why should they be immune to Israeli retaliation?
5. same old story!
Observer   (06.07.05)
Everytime the Israeli army kills a Palestinian they accuse him of being the leader of such and such group which planed to blow this and that...It is always the same load of crap excuses from the propaganda machines of the Israeli army who cannot be trusted!
6. Having Been a Soldier in Kabatia
Golani Vet ,   Israel   (06.07.05)
I can tell you that the best solution to that hornet's nest would be to turn it into a parking lot. There are few places that are that bad (Shechem is another one). This is how there will be peace- not by capitulating to these terrorists.
7. Too much blood
Libyan Guy ,   Italy   (06.07.05)
Ok, you killed him, now several others like him will come out !!! what after ??? endless violence and occupation continues and Israel democracy is 100% present.
8. Stubborn
Fadi ,   FL, USA   (06.07.05)
This is what happens when you don't abide the truce. In this case, it is not aggression by Israel. This is what happens when you plan horrible things like suicide bombings. I'm Palestinian, I support the resistance, but the Islamic Jihad and their methods need to go.
9. jews cant stand peace
edward ,   las vegas   (06.07.05)
what, you dont like your people living? you want to kill them during a period of no violence? for what? the only answer can be that you really truly hate yourselves and your people. one side honors a truce, the other builds more and more settlements, steals more and more land, builds an apartheid wall to steal that land at the expense of hundreds of thousands of the other, kills their people, but you expect peace? you people are idiotic, the idf should be disbanded, the leaders flown straight to the hague. morons.
10. "Ceasefire Operations"
Alex ,   Boston   (06.07.05)
Why right now? It makes no sense whatsoever to allow the IDF to run operations in the West Bank right now! "Hooray we killed a militant!" Who cares? The people who believe this type of policy is actually effective are lying to themselves because they thirst for blood. Any moron can see that an "operation" such as this empowers our enemy tenfold more than it deters him. Great, we killed a militant.....well we also killed a Pal cop and created five new militants who were on the edge, but couldn't stand to watch anymore of their brethren be murdered. Congratulations to Sharon and his IDF gangsters for using methods that hurt the state of Israel more than any of our enemies could dream!

Senior Islamic Jihad operative killed during a joint IDF and ISA operation Tuesday 07/06/2005 14:23 Today, June 7th, 2005, Maruh Kamil, one of the most senior Islamic Jihad operatives in the Jenin area, was killed in a joint IDF and ISA operation after he opened fire and threw a hand grenade at the IDF force that came to arrest him. An IDF officer was lightly wounded when the terrorists opened fire at the force. An M-16 assault rifle, a handgun and a hand grenade were found next to the body of Kamil. The IDF force arrived this morning at the house in Kabatiya, where Kamil and other Islamic Jihad terrorists were hiding. The terrorists opened fire at the force from several parts of the house simultaneously, wounding an IDF officer. The force returned fire at the gunmen. After several minutes, two wanted men came out of the house and turned themselves in. The IDF force called upon an additional wanted Palestinian inside the house to surrender, but instead he continued to fire at the force; the force returned fire. In order to stop the firing and arrest the man, part of the house was demolished. During a search of the house, the IDF force found the body of wanted senior Islamic Jihad terrorist Haled Taufik Kamil, a member of the Islamic Jihad network in the Jenin area; he was found with an M-16 assault rifle and a hand grenade. Maruh Hamed Tufik Kamil, 27, a resident of Kabatiya, was recruited to the Islamic Jihad terrorist network in Jenin in May 2003, and was planning to carry out a suicide terror attack in the heart of Israel. The suicide terror attack was thwarted following specific intelligence information. Kamil, who knew he was wanted by Israeli security forces for his involvement in terrorism, decided to turn himself in to Palestinian Authority security forces, and was imprisoned in the Palestinian Authority prison in Jericho. Kamil was imprisoned in the Jericho prison facility for several months, there he developed contacts with other Islamic Jihad terrorists from various networks throughout the West Bank who were imprisoned with him. In May, 2004 Kamil escaped from the Palestinian Authority prison in Jericho and returned to his village, Kabatiya. The contacts Kamil made during the period of his imprisonment in the Palestinian Authority prison in Jericho helped him after his escape to solidify his status as a leading figure in the terrorist organization. After a short period of time he became involved in the Islamic Jihad's activities in the northern West Bank and Jenin, after being trained personally by senior wanted Islamic Jihad members in Jenin. During this period Kamil was involved in strengthening the Islamic Jihad network in the northern West Bank and in Jenin, recruiting members, and planning and attempting to carry out various terror attacks against Israeli targets. Over the course of the past year Kamil was promoted within the Islamic Jihad terror organization, maintained direct contact with the Islamic Jihad headquarters abroad and was responsible for distributing funds and weaponry to Islamic Jihad terrorists in the northern West Bank and Jenin. He was personally responsible for directing Islamic Jihad terror attacks carried out against Israeli targets. After the declaration of the current period of calm, Kamil continued his activities and personally carried out a shooting attack in April 2005 in the Jenin area, in the attack an IDF soldier was wounded. The Islamic Jihad terror organization works relentlessly to carry out terror attacks against Israeli targets, despite the Sharm El Sheikh agreements.

Ed What a load of unadulterated rubbish I wonder why you bother reading the material on this site? Perhaps you should read how your government is couping up native americans in the nevada desert in so called ''reserves'', which your beloved amnesty international says has the second highest suicide rate in the world per capita, after the canadian ''reserves'' which are number one. We do have a cease fire but if you can READ, which im sure you can, you'll notice that the IDF spokepersons unit stated quite clearly, at the start, that there are elements of all the major, and some minor, palestinian terrorist organizations that are not interested in a cease fire and have been quite vocal about their opposition to it. The IDF stated clearly that given that position, the IDF reserves the right to hunt these shmuks down and kill or arrest them. Maybe we should follow your cerebral suggestion and sit on our hands and do nothing instead while he organizes suicide attacks, which by the way kill people in case you havent noticed. I'm sure everyone concerned would say thats a much better, infinitely brainy idea. Kol Hakavod ben-gamal, youre a real hacham

edward ,   las vegas   (06.08.05)
when was the last suicide bombing? how many israeli civilians have died this year? besides the four soldiers at the stage, none. but obviously israelis dont care about their own people. otherwise they wouldnt provoke an already embattered and brutalized civilian population

Ian ,   Sydney Australia   (06.08.05)
Why do you think there has only been one ''successful'' suicide bombing this year? Because the others have been prevented either by: 1) arresting the terrorists planning attacks; or 2) killing the terrorists planning attacks Take a look at the headlines section and you'll see quite a number of prevented attack scenarios Do me a favour walad, when you actually know what youre talking about, then by all means post something. Until then, you would be best advised to sheket ben-gamal

I can assure you they were not just "soldiers" (reservists actually) killed and injured at the Stage night club in Islamic Jihad's single "success" of many attempts this year. (I guess I am also a "soldier" in your eyes as I do a few days reserve duty each year as a medic, and I deserve to be blown up, as does my wife who supports me who supports the Zionist State and as do my children who might grow up and be drafted). I personally treated several maimed civilians, woman and men, after that terrorist attack. One woman is now blind in her right eye, and another lost several fingers. But they may have served in the IDF in the past too so I guess their injuries are justifed, as they are not really civilians. As for your accusation that Israel is "provoking", I guess you also think that releasing 900 prisoners is also provocation -not the right prisoners: that removing dozens of roadblocks is provocation-not the right road blocks or we've not removed them all yet; an agreement to leave the whole of Gaza and aquiescing to Palestinian racist demands of making such territory Judenrein is also provocation; handing over Jericho and other West Bank towns to PA control is also provocation; not responding at all to the continued mortar attacks on Sderot (in Israel) and Gaza settlements even though we have agreed to leave them is also provocation; suspending patrols on the Philadelphia Route which is now enabling free unapposed smuggling of weapons from Egypt by Hamas is also provocation. SUCH PROVOCATION! And what has Israel got in return? A self proclaimed partial, temporary reduction in terror attacks at best, whilst rearming? But, of course , Israel is in the wrong as usual.
17. lol you believe everything your government tells you, eh?
edward ,   las vegas   (06.08.05)
you are really blind. of course your government wants you to feel you are constantly under attack, thats why they put out so much disinformation of 'suicide bombers being stopped'. wake up and start to filter the truth from propoganda

Andy ,   Israel   (06.08.05)
You, of course sitting in Las Vegas know exactly what's going on over here. LOL We may not receive all the truth all the time and media manipulation occurs here as anywhere else. But that said we have a free press. We have Israeli civilian peace protesters monitoring check points. We have very liberal press access with reporters actually filming the captured suicide bombers. We have reservist soldiers who return home every weekend and tell their families and friends what is going on, including no shortage of politically motivated reservists who are only too happy to spill the beans. We are not a police state, or even like the US who is able to manipulate the truth much more easily as their war is thousands of miles away over a huge country in Iraq. Are you ashamed of your own country and its behaviour in Iraq, and its filtering of the truth because you should be?

Walad You obviously have a monopoly on information Everyone is talking rubbish except king ed. Why? Because king ed says so. No other reason in particular. I know, lets do what king ed says: lets sit on our hands and watch and see how many people the terrorist dogs kill. Maybe you lot should give an open invitation to al-qaeda to ram a few airplanes into a few other buildings, do nothing to stop them before hand, and then enjoy the red view afterwards. Thats very intelligent ed, well done mate, youre a royal genius. Someone give this plonker a cigar. He's obviously been living in stix-ville too long. Touch of sun stroke eh? Like I said, when you actually know what youre talking about and have something genuinely intelligent to say, then by all means post something.
