1. We don't need any americans here
DK ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.19.05)
And especially american jews that are always trying to show their "support" without really supporting. Stay at home.
2. 1 - reply

It matters only that they are Jewish, not that they are American. Whether they "support" Israel the way you think they should is not relevant. It's not relevant because just as there is no defined way that Israelis must "support" Israel to be allowed to live here, and we don't kick out Israelis who don't "support" Israel, we don't look for reasons to keep out Jews who don't meet a non-existing definition of "really supporting". Everybody's free to find their own way to participate, or to choose not to. That's true of all democratic countries.
3. Maybe it is you who "we" don't need here
yakov ,   jerusalem   (06.19.05)
As an american who made aliyah many years ago, who has been in the army, and has supported our country, it is people with your attitude that keep olim away. We welcome all olim here, and hopefully we can continue to grow Israel and continue to make it a wonderful homeland to live in. If you are so unhappy with the olim, maybe you should not be here yourself.
4. We don't need any americans here.
Johnny Weintraub ,   Sugar Land, Texas US   (06.19.05)
DK: Have you ever heard of an American by the name of Mickey Marcus? He did "support" Israel during the Haatzmaut (Independence) and the "support" was paid with his life.
5. no need to reply to DK
sean ,   jerusalem   (06.19.05)
since initials like that could very easily stand for names such as "darham khalil"
6. We don't need any Americans here
Bill ,   Reno, NV USA   (06.20.05)
Sorry DK, you don't frighten me! I will be in Haifa on Tuesday (21 June) if you would like to make it personal. I love israel but the few obnoxious and socially handicapped Israelis like you are a disgrace to Israel. Why don't you move to Gaza where you might be accepted?
7. It's all a Waste..empty jestures
Abbie ,   Even Yehuda, Israel   (06.22.05)
I made Aliyah from USA prior to Nefesh to Nefesh program. I am still living in Israel today, 9 years later. I have seen sooo many Americans that were settled here return to the states, upon their companies closing, etc (as the company I worked for did 2 yrs ago.) I wrote to Nefesh to Nefesh, to see if they would help those Americans like myself that are already here, have learned the language and are settled. They refused...and Americans that have been here for quite some time are returning. I do not think this program is successful or will be successful. If you promise any American (Jewish, Islamic, xtain, etc) a huge money grant, if you only live in Israel for 3 yrs, lots will come. (Even though I love Israel and made Aliyah, for a grant of $50,000 I will return to America for a period of three years.) Now lets see, how many will still be here in 5 or 10 yrs. I bet, not many. Too bad that there is no real organization that wants to help olim, only more people that want recognition for empty jestures. Abbie
