Oh my....Hakuk entered with the (gasp) DREADED orange ribbon. Oh fear, Oh panic, Oh the trembling palpitations that must have run through everyone's hearts at that fearful moment! Israelis, no longer do you need to fear the suicide bombers, but instead the greater evil of a simple ribbon!!! Who needs to view a comedy when they can read the news from Israel these days? Shame on you Knesset members for allowing this madness to continue. SIGH
2. Orange Ribbons Are Now Considered Firearms?
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (06.16.05)
The idea IS mightier than the sword! Jews wil not be ethnically cleansed!
3. orange ribbions
shelly ,   Israel   (06.16.05)
The government is scared ay the only way they think that the government can win is stopping freedom of expression. They (government) are scared. But than again the only thing they really care about is them self’s. We have a magnificent country; the problem is we have a government that is batata (yams).
4. Orange
Libyan Guy ,   Italy   (06.16.05)
Jews wil not be ethnically cleansed! Well, Jews are ethnically cleansing the Palestineans, by occpation, settlements and military force, which in Jews standards is calld DEMOCRACY. It is also strange to copy from others, as orange reminds us of what happend in Ukrain to obtain freedom, which is in your case an attempt to confirm occupation !
5. Panic!
Matthias Roth ,   Switzerland   (06.16.05)
It would be just ridiculous if it wasn't that sad. I wonder where all the advocates of civil rights and freedom of expression are. Does their silence mean that the victims of this harassment are those with rightwing views? Can anyone take these humanists seriously anymore?
6. Are Palestinian flags allowed in court?
accessol ,   Spelthorne, England   (06.16.05)
I wonder if correspondents would be so keen to stand up for my own rights if went to the courthouse dressed in a black-white-green and red scarf to show my support for the Palestinians; I would not be at all surprised if I were at once denounced with screams of 'anti-semite' and 'terrorist' and arrested for incitement.
7. Do governments need to WARN TOURISTS TO ISRAEL...
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (06.16.05)
...that they may have very big problems if they wear orange as the color symbolizes the protest against racism - against the rabid Jew-hate that demands ethnic Jew cleansing JUST BECAUSE A PERSON IS A JEW. Stop the racism! STOP THE RABID JEW-HATE THAT DEMANDS ETHNIC JEW CLEANSING!
8. In Ireland -- Orange is the Protestant Color!
Israeli ,   Israel   (06.16.05)
I find it most interesting that the settlers chose Orange as their protest color. Just wondering.... Do you suppose it has anything at all to do with the fact that so very many protestants provide spiritual and financial support to the settlers? (I am just another wholistic reader on the bus and so I am making a link between the Bibi and the Christian center in the north story and this one)
9. why Orange?
yy in Yerushalayim ,   Ir HaKodesh, Israel   (06.20.05)
Simple - it's the color of the Flag of the Gush Katif region. It has no other significance, but its bright color has captured the imagination of much of the population here in Israel. Paint the country ORANGE!!!!
