1. Not the first time either
Shlomo ,   Shomron   (06.17.05)
Look what they did to Hanoch Albert and to Ariel Halfon for far less: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/print.php3?what=news&id=77553 We shall overcome.
2. How pathetic, sigh.
Ann C. ,   MO, USA   (06.17.05)
We are talking about "girls" here, not men or armed terrorists, just girls. If the police can't comfortably, peacefully control a "girl" then perhaps they'd better get a job selling cars instead. Girls beaten, and their arms broken because of the incredibly evil CRIME of (gasp) "scrawling graffiti on the walls." We are seeing the "fruits" of the Deportation Plan everyday. Jews terrorizing Jews. Maybe some of these police need to go look at some buses that were blown up, and realize who the real enemy is.
3. KGB
Wendy ,   Skokie IL   (06.17.05)
The KGB is alive and well in Jerusalem. This regime is really encouraging me to make aliya.
4. Horrible!
Johnny Weintruab ,   Sugar Land, Texas US   (06.17.05)
I suppose that the next step is to transfer the minor protestors to Guantanamo, Cuba. Perhaps, the United States Government can rent out space to the Israeli Police Department.
5. Bravo
(06.17.05)
Hopefully this will teach her a lesson and also to all those settlers who believe they're above the law. What was she thinking, going to a picnic or something? At least she'll have something to remember.
6. At least she will have something to remember :-)
(06.17.05)
7. If they treat the Israelis like this
(06.17.05)
Can you imagine what they treat the Arab protestors like?
8. If she was a leftist, would you react the same way?
(06.17.05)
9. to Number 7
(06.17.05)
Unfortunately, I don't need to imagine how they treat Arab protestor. I remember the protests of 2000 when 12 Israeli citizens were murdered.
10. POLICE BRUTALITY & FALSE CHARGES COMMON AGAINST RIGHT
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (06.17.05)
Police brutality and false charges are common against the right - punishment for their stand for a strong, defensible Israel. If you read on, you will discover police broke Nadia's ribs and falsely accused her of attacking the police. Jerusalem, June 9, 1997 Ne'eman to Justice Ministry The following is a translation of the June 8th program by Nadia Matar, co-chair of Women for Israel's Tomorrow (Women in Green), on Arutz-7. Nadia speaks every Sunday after the 12:00 noon newscast. "JUSTICE HAS ONLY ONE FORM, WHILE INJUSTICE HAS MANY"(Moshe Ben Ezra) Shalom to all our listeners! I am speaking to you today from the Jerusalem Magistrates Court, where I'm spending most of the morning listening to false testimony by the policemen who are testifying against me. During the four years of the previous government, criminal charges were brought against me personnally in five indictments (in two of these cases, charges were also brought against other women from Women in Green). All of these charges against us are obviously fabrications, and the indictments were delivered in similar circumstances: we demonstrated legally somewhere; the police received orders to disperse the demonstration, despite its being legal; the police used excessive force, brutally hitting us (I even had some ribs broken); they throw us into jail illegally...and then, a few months later, a criminal indictment is brought against us, in which WE are charged with assaulting policemen, disorderly conduct, hindering policemen in the discharge of their duty, illegal assembly, and so on. This is how I have already spent several years, every few weeks, with an entire morning in court. One indictment has already been dropped because, as luck would have it, I had a videotape which clearly shows the policeman - Micky Levi, Deputy Commander of the Jerusalem District - attacking and beating me, and not the opposite. My case, of course, is not an isolated incident. Similar false charges were brought by the previous regime against hundreds, if not thousands of citizens. What really happened is that the judicial system was used for political purposes. The District Attorney's Office has always been a leftist bastion, but in the four years of the Rabin-Peres regime, all restraints were removed, and it unabashedly used the judicial system as a weapon against the national camp, starting with the issuing of false charges, and even including the fabrication of testimony and evidence. In this manner they hoped to intimidate and break the spirit of the hundreds of thousands of demonstrators from the right, by exhausting...
11. To Linda ( #10)
Billy ,   Burlington, Canada   (06.17.05)
What's if Nadia is exaggerating or even lying? I'm not accusing her by any chance. I do appreciate the fact that she's fighting for her believes. But it seems that you take what she's saying as granted & disbelieve the police story. It will be dangerous that the police, who suppose to serve & protect is doing just the opposite! I think Israelis might consider discussing matter with their MP's. It seems the blame should be directed to police training process & not policemen themselves. They might be just doing what they've been trained to do regardless.
12. Spurious Denial by Police Spokeswoman
Adina Kutnicki ,   NJ, US   (06.17.05)
This police spokeswoman is talking utter nonsense. Her contention that the girls attacked officers, (what did they hit them with their pocketbooks or with their ponytails??)refused to identify themselves etc is that supposed to justify breaking a girls arm? ? Had it been proven that this girl hurled a rock at the policemen's head, then restraining her forcefully would have been justified. I hope that this girls parents, and others in the same situation, sue the pants off this policeman. He behaved like a thug, and not like a professional. Surely he could have "subdued" her without breaking her arm. In addition, there should be compensation for mental anguish suffered by not allowing her to see a doctor to evaluate her condition. Perhaps they were too busy coddling the terrorists. They have matriculations exams to take, eh?
13. To # 5 - You Need An Object Lesson Of your Own
Adina Kutnicki ,   NJ, US   (06.17.05)
To # 5 - perhaps you need to have your arm broken or something in that order. Where are the big strapping "settlers" when you need them?
14. To # 7 -The Arab prisoners get kid glove treatment
Adina Kutnicki ,   NJ, US   (06.17.05)
Actually the Arab prisoners are treated with kid gloves. Haven't you heard - they are allowed to take matricualtion exams in prison (terrorists!) yet teenage roadblockers are not. In fact, they are allowed to pray to ALLAH unimpeded, but the roadblockers weren't allowed to form a minyan. This is the insanity of Jews living in their homeland and being treated like interlopers. This has only been allowed to happen because currently the leftists control it all. Things are about to change pretty soon.
15. No Comparison Between this and 2000
Adina Kutnicki ,   NJ, US   (06.17.05)
To number 9 - Perhaps your memory has faded, but the 2000 protests by the Arab citizens were very violent uprisings. The above is talking about teenage girls blocking roads. Not hurling rocks, molotov cocktails etc. Absolutely no comparison, unless you are the sort that compares a military response to a suicide bombing. Cause and effect, cause and effect.
16. to Adina...these girls are criminals...
(06.17.05)
my mother's ambulance was caught in the traffic jam they created and we nearly lost her...thank God for the fast thinking Magen David Adom team who connected to the hospital where the cardiologist was able to give the crew instructions that assisted in saving my mother.
17. Police Brutality
Joseph A Norland ,   Ottawa, Ontario, Can   (06.18.05)
I have read several reports about this Stasi-like conduct of the Israeli police. I routinely complain to the Israeli embassy in my city (Ottawa) but never receive a response. Israel's police is blackening the name of Israel, to the great delight of Israel's enemies.
18. T # 16- Glad Your Mother Was Saved, But Criminals-No
Adina Kutnicki ,   NJ, US   (06.18.05)
To # 16 - The blocking of roads and the by product of an ambulance or firetruck not getting through is truly frightening. Both my sons were EMT's in senior year in high school and I know that time is of the essence when you are in need of an ambulance. However, the onus of your near tragedy needs to be put on the shoulders of the corrupt Sharon gov't that has caused otherwise law abiding students ! to take to the streets en masse to save themselves from expulsion. We have since learned from the interview of the authors of "Boomerang" that Sharon indeed concocted this suicidal plan to save himself and his sons from criminal indictments. Sharon must be held accountable from all moral, sane thinking people. Furhtermore, most of the country would be in an uproar if Arabs were being slated for transfer. Over the years the Histadrut and other groups have closed roads, crippled ports and otherwise endangered the populace for mainly wage disputes. As onerous as that is I cannot remember the populace being in such a tizzy. Actually people were supportive of their rights to protest. Thank God your mother was saved, and we can only hope that these girls can go back to feeling secure enough in their own homeland that they do not have to spend their time laying down in traffic!
19. I stand down...
(06.19.05)
I am number 16 with her words despite the fact that ultimately I do not agree with Adina...she has proven that she is a Jew...and that she truly understand what it is to be in the place of almost lossing a loved one. Adina, I do not agree with you... but I understand you...particularly since there is something very menchlich in you...enough to understand my frustration at almost lossing my mother in the middle of this right wing created traffic jam. I can afford to be so large because Mada (Magen David Adom) staff were able to function in a manner that save my mother. I think that it is fine to protest but it is important to remember that protesting can have a human cost. I am disagreeing with you because I almost lost my mother and since she is a holocaust survivor it would have been a terrible, horrible irony to lose her because of the actions of Jews!
