1. If you can't name the source, don't quote it
Rachel BenDavid ,   Peduel   (06.21.05)
On more than one occasion Ynet has quoted unnamed sources who have said derogatory things about Jews living in Judea, Samaria and the Gush Katif. This is unprofessional. If you can't name the source, than others can't check the information given.
2. Dear Rachel in Peduel....
(06.21.05)
you know just as I do that the names of officers, particularly officers in elite units are censored by the military censor. All Israeli media complies with this in order to protect these officers. The minister of defense and the Army's general chief of staff are named in the story and their responses are attributed accordingly. Perhaps you don't have a television but if you do may I suggest that you watch the news and you will see that what the unnamed officer brings up as a question does indeed occur. That is there are times when our wonderful Jewish youth living over the green line start out by speaking in a violent and disrespectful manner to the soldiers assigned to protect them and then when this wonderful Jewish youth living over the green lines gets angry they throw all kinds of things at the soldiers. But my real question to you is...how come your knickers have never gone into a twist when for throwing stones Palestinian children are either tear-gassed (that's if they are lucky) or have rubber bullets shot at them (that's when they aren't lucky). anyway you have a nice day over in Peduel. all the best, an Israeli living inside the green line
3. Jewish kids throwing stones
(06.21.05)
Why dont you shoot them like you do the Palestinian kids?
4. answer to the title
aaa ,   aaa   (06.21.05)
they will go and find a palestinian boy and blame the rock throwing on him and that is if he is not shot dead ....
5. Restrained Military Action? An oxymoron
Adina Kutnicki ,   NJ, US   (06.21.05)
What kind of army has orders to "catch and detain," as opposed to "kill and destroy"? Certainly not an army that is expected to be victorious. This is the tragedy and travesty of the "limited conflict doctrine". Sharon, the erstwhile general, has given the army orders to act as a police force, and not as a military machine. This is all very mentally ill. The US army goes on raids to DESTROY the enemy apparatus. The IDF has its hands tied in knots to appease world opinion at the same time Jews are dying. Sharon and his apparatus have calculated a certain amount of Jews are expendable in order to prop up Abbas/Mazen, or whoever the hell is in power at the time. His failure to protect is what should arose the public to depose him.
6. jewish child stone throwers get the same treatment i'm sure
edward ,   las vegas   (06.21.05)
if they throw stones, shoot first for the legs or stomach. if that doesnt work, shoot for the head. no different than how the army treats palestinian children
7. what a people
(06.21.05)
when Sharon he was known as hard minder and war criminal and his hand full of blood you elected him and he was your hero , and now when he is trying to do something maybe God will forgive one of his sins for it you want to throw him out .... what a people
8. What if you don't know if he's Palestinian of Israeli
accessol ,   Spelthorne, England   (06.22.05)
This is the real dilemma: we know IDF orders are to shoot a Palastinian stone thrower and pat the dear little head of any naughty settler youngster but what if the soldier can't figure out whether he's Jew or Arab? Suggested solution: throw a stone back at the kid; if he curses you in onscene Arabic you know he is Jewish.
9. to cesspool#8
cliff from montreal( ,   Canada   (06.22.05)
You know cesspool. You really fail at humor..Ha ha..now get a life cause we know you have none.
10. Beggars galore
Chrisona ,   Chicago.IL   (06.22.05)
The setup for the situation that Sharon and cronies are creating simply beggars the imagination. Just when you think it couldn't get worse, it does. Wouldn't it make more sense to just send the goats back outside?
