I like this article, BUT , there is one thing i can't accept! ITS TOO pessimistic! Mr. Hannaniah, always take into consideration the good things that can possibly happen! As for the Hamas reminding the Palestinian Christian that sunday comes after saturday...I can tell you that THIS problem is not one sided at all! I am Christian, and i can tell you that ON BOTH SIDES, racism is growing bigger and bigger by the second! If they remind us that after saturday there is sunday, we will remind them that Friday is before saturday and sunday! Its a VICIOUS circle, talking about it is a good thing, but lets be fair and unbiased! What we need is a global panoramic Vision! One that will look at all the aspects...And some optimism.... Thank you

Your articles are not funny at all and full of over simplifications. It is better for you to stop writing political humor and switch to some sex humor. Ray you make me sick with the articles you publish in Ynews.

I read this article, but it seems very detached from reality. I believe that the author has to take a serious look at himself and set his priorities and life-goals in order. I dont know what they are, but at the moment they seem to be a desire to have the freedom for a nihilistic and relativistic form of thought and speech. Because equating Israel to the Palestinians to the 'settlers' to the religious aspirations of either one... etc. is simply not possible! It may be more difficult to digest and think over, but the situation is I believe much more complex than this. Actually, at the core its much more simple than this, but that would take a leap of faith: the Arabs/Muslims hate the Jews and are determined ot hate them forever, and the jews dont hate the Arabs. The Jews want to live, period. Why is this hard to digest? Because a solution to the problem is not evident. But this is no excuse to fly away from reality. What can be done right now is to stand firm and exibit Jewish strength and determination. I dont mean merely military strength- though that is definitely neccessary right now- I am speaking of moral strength as well. TO be proud of being a Jew and be unashamed at this when speaking to the world. Only this will bring at least a temporary peace to Israel. In the long run, I believe that this is the only thing that will bring a true peace as well. The climax of a true peace in Israel and throughout the world will only arrive with the coming of Moshiach, may it be now! We can only do so much in the realm of peace. But we can do much more in the realm of furthering own own strength as a determined nation and as G-d's nation. It is this that we must work on right now. Meir
7. Ehm, was this supposed to be serious?
daniel ,   Amsterdam   (07.13.05)
I didn't think so. Anyway Ray I think you are too optimistic. Hamas will indeed claim it as a victory and then proceed to try and 'liberate' the rest of the land. We're going to have a third intifada which will look like a regular war. Look on the bright side, at least all the Islamic fanatics will be able to die their heroes death. Israelis are a lot better at fighting wars than selfdetonating fanatics. After they've gone we can have another go at screwing up the peace process. Ain't it great.

Hananiah is the only Palestinian who says things that must be said. That so many on both sides dislike him is a testament his voice is sorely needed. When I heard Ynet published his columns, I expected something different. As an American friend once say, you have to dump much manure to grow a stunning, poignant rose.
14. I think I understand :)
Ray Hanania ,   Chicago, USA   (07.14.05)
Okay. I understand some of the hatred above that drives the conflict. It's good to see its real face so that people can't say it doesn't exist. (Some of it is good criticism, which is the power of free speech and Democracy and dialogue -- we don't just want to sit around and agree with each other all the time and never challenge the real issues to make all of ourselves better, do we?) But, I have a question for Ari. Are you saying my columns are all manure but when put together, create a rose? Or, are you saying good people find a way to rise up above the bad that surrounds them? :)
