if he cut out a picture of himself and put it in the prime minister's chair, the effectiveness would be the same. one thing he can do is blame others for everything, like all good palestinians do.
2. Today's article
Paul Usiskin ,   London   (07.15.05)
I do not agree with your suggestion that UK Moslems have codemned the London outrage. Sadly too many, but not all - journalists, community leaders, clerics and MPs - have equivocated, preferring first to distance themselves from the atrocity and then making often overly vague comments about how terrible it was ansd that this isn't the true Islam. A trainee journalist at the Guardian yestrday wrote an opening that was lip service to condemnation and concluded with the inference that what had happened was an extension of teenage rebellion against the elders of the Moslem community. This really isn't it . Just as I am capable and have frequently spoken out against IDF targetted assassinations, loss of innocent Palestinian life, I also have condemned suicide bombing as a war crime when Palestinian terro groups have been responsible. There can be no equivocation in this. Use of indiscriminate violence by anyone needs to be overtly condemned and deplored. Whoever uses it, Israel - and I'm a proud Israeli citizen, Palestine - whose creation is a sine qua non to Israel's peaceful future - or British Moslems - all vacate any moral highground they once might have claimed for their causes.
3. courageous, but very risky
Bassim ,   LA   (07.15.05)
Though you are a Palestinian Christian, are you not afraid Hamas or other Islamic fanatics will strike out at you for saying this? It sure takes courage mate!
4. A hug

daniel ,   amsterdam   (07.15.05)
It's not finished, remember. Unless the border is completely sealed off there is always the chance that somebody will get through.
6. Israel/Palestine Ray Hanania ...the trend continues
Steve ,   Baltimore, MD USA   (07.15.05)
ARABS MUST CRACK DOWN Dear Sir: You are 100% Right on. And 100% repetitive. And 100% too late, (sad to say). For as long as I can remember, the lack of resolve, integrity, and insight by Arab/Islamic leaders, and World leaders ,I might add ,against Islamic terrorists who reside so confortably in the Arab (our) world is (has been) truly disturbing - In fact this is OLD News!*** The World refused to resolutely stand behind Israel when it was victimized by Islamic Terrorists Tactics over the last 30 years (Since Munich) - In fact much of the "euro-cool" World endorsed "Jihad" as some sort of "understandable cause." Now Islamic Terrorism has spread all over the World. The UN has a pathetic and shameful Record on their tolerence of Terrorism. At the current rate of appeasement we are heading toward an unfathomable disaster. The World of Islam is out of control from within. The World of Islam must destroy their home grown "Terrorists" and stop calling them Martrys...Sadly, We know this will not happen ( We all know the Islamic "world" is incapable of policing itself ) - We need to restart with a new UN that is 100%commited to eliminating (destroying) Islamic Terrorism as its #1 priority ,(before it's too late). Incredibly, the USA is tackiling terrorism by having "open" boarders and liberal laws against "racial profiling". I expect Islamic Terrorist Acts to become bolder and deadlier - Todays Events are "More of the Same" - everyone is hopeful but delusional in my opinion, that Islamic terrorism will somehow go away with the current strategies and tolerent attitudes. As a Planet , we must ,with Common Sense and a clear vision unite with a united NEW and EFFECTIVE strategy against the Mass Murderering Cult of Islam. Wake up World! Oh no! I hope I hav'nt offended anyone.
7. You are a traitor, Mr Hanania
upset ,   New York   (07.15.05)
You are a traitor. A collaborator. Your columns are not serious. your humor is rejected by our community and other more professional Arab and Muslim comedians -- which is why you have been isolated by the mainstream Arab comedians in New York and LA and by Muslim comedians in the midwest America. While they stand up to the Palestinian Right of Return, you surrender. You are married to a Jew, you are really a zionist, you are a shame for our community. There is no compromise with the Zinoists.
8. Mr Hanania, Keep out
Salameh ,   Gaza   (07.15.05)
A spoiled rich kind who is a self-hating Palestinian born and raised in America is no fit to come and teach us how to handle our own internal affairs by playing at the hands of the Likudinks and Eitams. All what we have to tell you is, we wish you were righting in a Palestinian outlet not a zionist one, so KEEP OUT
9. Abbas must crack down by Ray Hanania
Emile Tubiana ,   USA   (07.15.05)
My congratulations to Ray Hanania We need a lot of people like him to reach a lasting peace in that part of the world.
10. Courageous Hanania
Richard Silverstein ,   Seattle, USA   (07.16.05)
Speaking as an American Jew who is critical of both the Israeli & Palestinian leadership on this question, I applaud Ray Hanania for his courage in criticizing Mahmoud Abbas for not doing more to rein in Palestinian suicide attacks. It's interesting to hear the racist (who cares who he's married to??) & hateful bile spewed by some against him. The same bile is spewed against me by rightist pro-Israel supporters in my own blog. I'm afraid we have haters on both sides of this conflict who'd like nothing more than to prevent peace between peoples for as long as possible. It's a shame.
11. #7
JAY ,   CHICAGO   (07.18.05)
As my father says "oppinions are like noses and everyone has one". In your oppinion, what should Hania do? Joke about suicide bombings? Encourage Islamic Jihad with jokes? Lend his name to a policy (the Palestinain right of return) which has no realistic chance of ever being passed and just wastes time, energy, and accomplishes nothing?
12. Hanania is a HERO
PROUD ,   NY,USA   (07.20.05)
As a Palestinian, I am proud of Hanania. We need more people like him. He does NOT betray our people like #7-"Upset" in NY does by creating divisions among us. Arab and Muslim comedians want to be more like him and admire him. He opened the door for them in the first place. "upset" from NY is downright jealous. It's so obvious. Ray is a role model and I hope his humor, message and voice become heard more often than the racists that dislike him because he's married to a Jewish woman and he advocates peace for the suffering. Ray is right on target... he is in no way isolated. He's published worldwide and perfoms worldwide too. He is very respected by all in his community. I commend YNET for giving him audience. The extremists and jealous comedian (like #7) will self-destruct because the Palestinian people want peace, want to live, want the suffering to stop and they don't need losers like "upset" holding us back. The people realize that and are moving above that. The voice of reason on the Palestinian and Israeli side is being heard... peace will prevail. Attacking the messenger won't kill peace efforts. It does serve to out the people holding us back so that we can recognize their ugliness, see it for what it is, and move away from it.
13. Ray! You hate islamic factions!
perpetual_dream ,   jerusalem, palestine   (08.01.05)
You can't write articles about palestine while u r sitting in chigago just bcoz u r afraid to travel through el al or to get inspected in a racist manner at an israeli airport! Do u think that the palestinian ppl has elected the PA! they just came and they've told us that they r bringing peace with them! Peace didn't come and the israeli governments continued to build settlements, and the PA we have counted on proved to be a dumb authority full of corruption and have done nothing to stop them! A solution didn't come and the islamic factions decided to play a role, they have followed Bush advice " No justice without freedom" and carried the unjustified attack.... just pay a visit to palestine Ray maybe u can know!
