The problem is that healing is not really possible. By taking this action Israel has done irreparable harm to itself and to world Jewry. Israel has now set a precedent that not only are other communities of Jews in Judea and Samaria "removable" but that globally it is "o.k." to remove Jews from their homes if their is a pressing "National need". Thus if the government of some country wants to move Jews out of the countryside "for their own safety" it is o.k. to do this since Israel did. Arabs can live in Israel and are expected to be afforded equal rights as all citizens....but Jews cannot live in an Arab area (Gaza) and Arabs are not required to tolerate a Jewish minority because they simply don't want to. And this too is now a precedent for the world. Israel has now declared that the Land of Israel does not necessarily belong by right of history, culture, and religion to the Jews. And so on.....the damage is real, the damage is permanent, and the damage cannot be repaired. Israel needs to cease to exist so that the precedents Israel has set are seen as an historical abberation and not a standard that can be maintained by any viable and legitimate country.

you say: "Arabs can live in Israel and are expected to be afforded equal rights as all citizens....but Jews cannot live in an Arab area (Gaza) and Arabs are not required to tolerate a Jewish minority because they simply don't want to. And this too is now a precedent for the world" i hope you are just trying to tick people off. if not, keep on deluding yourself and you and linda rivera can think the worst about each other.

edward is suggesting that a double standard is a good thing. elsewhere he denounces israel for having double standards against arabs. for anyone to expect equality for one country while excusing and promoting the racist prejudice in another is surely fantasy talk at best, highly destructive at worst. israel is not perfect but they give more freedom and rights to her arab citizens than neighboring countries give to palestinians, by far. to encourage racism against jews in arab lands is for those who hate peace.
