1. iit's all about THEM
mike ,   usa   (08.24.05)
"we want this, we want that, we deserve.." is all we ever hear from them. if they don't get exactly what they want, then they will blow something up. it's time they start giving a little good will, for a change.
2. Sure they can have an airport
(08.24.05)
But if it even goes into Israel airspace, it will be shot down immediately. To hell if they think they'll pull a 9/11 on Israel. Anyways, all their demands have no value. Until terror stops, Israel not going to listen.
3. airport?
Yisraeli   (08.24.05)
how about Ben Gurion airport will that suffice?
4. They want OUR airports
Avi ,   Jerusalem   (08.24.05)
ALL of them.
5. Demands
Yonatan ,   Knoxville, USA   (08.24.05)
Israel keeps on sacrificing over and over...The PA gives nothing back...But they continue to make demands. They need to put up, or shut up. I have absolutely no respect for the PA.
6. Response to post 2
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (08.24.05)
What kind of peace are you exactly looking for to have with the Palestinians if you want to shoot down every civilian airplane that crosses into Israeli airspace when is it fact that Israel still occupies all of the airspace in Israel, occupied territories and God knows how much airspace of Jordan and Sinai?
7. ABBAS IS A FATAH TERRORIST WE DON' T HAVE TO TALK WITH HIM
(08.24.05)
8. Can someone name....
Abber ,   Israel   (08.24.05)
just 1 thing the Arabs have done to show they are serious about Peace....
9. Response to #6
Dan ,   Nashville, TN   (08.24.05)
Abdullah, The point is that now that Israel has made an enormous step by withdrawing from Gaza, what WE want to see is the Palestinians respond with positive steps of their own. Peace is a two way street and there has to be sacrifices from both sides. Instead, all we hear is a new list of demands, "give us an airport", "landbridge", etc, etc, etc. And we also hear how this is a first step to destroying and conquering Israel. We do not hear "thanks for Gaza, now we will give you something in return to show our good will."
10. #8 - Arafat died, that was good.................

11. Abbas/Mazen Wants More. Should Israel Commit To....
Adina Kutnicki ,   NJ, US   (08.24.05)
Abbas/Mazen, Mubarak - one and the same. Their goals ultimately include destroying Israel. If not militarily, then "diplomatically". In any event, what are the suicidal "leaders" of Israel going to do about it? An airport they want? What blessed thing have they done to warrant any trust that they will NOT use an airport/seaport (next on their "wish list") for jihadist activities? Bush & Condi, and all the Euro "elites" can trust them if they so desire to be deluded. On the other hand, for Israel to do so is for them to become complicit in their own national suicide. How many ways and times do the PA/PLO Arabs have to prove their genocidal intent toward Israel? As for the Egyptians, they have "allowed" the heavy weaponry to flow unimpeded to the Gazan Arabs, thereby "allowing" the transfer of such weapons to Judea & Samaria. Why in the world would Israel now give them control of the border? Delusion grandeur!
12. Do not forget, Abbas
Avi ,   Ashkelon   (08.24.05)
December 12, 2001... You finally lost it... I mean, the airport! Why? You should be able to answer at least that one word question and openly admit to your people that it was a direct result of the terror eminating from under the PA's noses. So do some quick calculations, and and stop demanding this and that. There has always been an outstretched hand of peace, but the PA shot itself in the foot. Just admit that all this is has been your own fault and stop crying about everything you have lost over the past four years! Now is the time to fix what you have broken. And Abdullah, there has been a very good reason for the occupation all these years. If Israel could, for one moment trust the PA to take their responsibility as the leaders of their people seriously, the occupation would have ended years ago. http://israelinsider.com/channels/security/articles/sec_0153.htm http://israelinsider.com/channels/security/articles/sec_0158.htm
13. Stupid idea
Shai ,   Israel   (08.24.05)
Airports take up a lot more room than they have in Gaza. They should focus on using the land to house their citizens and either form a partnership with Egypt to build an airport in Egypt that they will use, build one in an area of the West Bank once (if) they gain sovereingty there, or build it out in the sea like the Japanese are doing. But the truth is, Gaza won't "need" an airport for a long time, and a helicopter will be quite adequate to escape their angry citizenry quickly after they screw up once again.
14. TO NO 8 ,10.,11 , 12 WITH LOVE
GEORGE SAMI   (08.24.05)
TO YOU ABBER NO. 8 THE PALESTINIANS AND THE ARAB GOVERNMENT ACCEPT THE EXISTENCE OF WHAT YOU NAME IT ISRAEL OVER THE ARABS SOIL , IS IT ENOUGH TO YOU ? , YOUR FRIENDS YASSER ARAFAT ACCEPT THAT WITHOUT CONSULTING THE PALESENIANS , AND YOUR FRIEND ABBAS GOES FARTHER ALSO WITHOUT CONSULTING PALESTINIANS , ( YOU LIKE THIS DEMOCRACY ) …. IF YOU LOOKING TO LIVE OVER THE PALESTINIANS LAND IN PEACE YOU HAVE TO WITHDEW FROM ALL WEST BANK AND QALANDIA AIRPORT , PALESTINE WILL BE BUILD BY THE HAND OF THE ARAB, AND NOT THE AMERICAN TAX PAYERS AID , WITHOUT IT ISRAEL WILL VANISHED..
15. they have given you something... a LOT
edward ,   las vegas   (08.24.05)
the violence has all but stopped. there have been almost as many arabs killed by non-army jewish terrorists than israelis killed by terror attacks this year. there have been many times over the amount of jewish deaths in traffic and train accidents this year than terrorist attacks. the terror is over. they ended the second intifada. there are not daily threats anymore. that is what you have gotten for gaza, saving blood. so dont sit there and say "its always about them! they ask for x and y and z!". the deal is land-for-peace. you retreat from land, you dont find resistance from that land. what do they have to give you? maybe some old, broken tents from their refugee camps? unsterile water? playing cards with their martyrs pictures? what do you want from them?
16. A Palestinian airport should concern you Abdullah
???   (08.24.05)
It wasn't so long ago when your country was invaded by Saddam with strong support from Arafat and the Palestinians. I have yet to see anything positive coming from the Palestinians other than there new and never ending demands.
17. not a stupid idea
edward ,   las vegas   (08.24.05)
shai, c'mon now. you know well that it has just as much to do with the symbolism of actually having some sort of normalcy as it does to logistically helping them travel. its not like they can even afford to fly commercially, israel has destroyed the infrastructure, economy, and employment situation. but just as abbas says, as a symbolism of freedom from israeli control, it is surely not a stupid idea. and to the moron that said what about ben gurion airport? lol like you are going to let any palestinian fly from that airport. are you smoking crack?
18. Clueless edward
New York Gal   (08.24.05)
Leading clerics are calling for a continuation of Jihad against the people of Israel. Send every last Jew into the Sea is there motto. Israel deserves better and what they demand is a halt to all those who encourage violence against them. Is that too friggen much to ask? No it is not.
19. To 6
(08.24.05)
"What kind of peace are you exactly looking for to have with the Palestinians if you want to shoot down every civilian airplane that crosses into Israeli airspace" One that doesn't involve the IAF freaking out over every airplane crossing into Israeli airspace. An airplane thats already in the air (not taking off or landing) from within Gaza airspace can reach tel aviv or other major Israeli cities within a few minutes. You may have forgotten 9/11 but I haven't. That level of destruction shall not fall on Israel's sky scrapers. " when is it fact that Israel still occupies all of the airspace in Israel," I would assume so, unless you are saying that Israel has no right to it's airspace. "occupied territories" Considering that in the disputed territories the pal's do not have an airforce or airline, it's not suprising. " and God knows how much airspace of Jordan and Sinai?" Huh?, Israel has no control over Jordanian airspace nor Egyptian. It's actually been airlines that have been keeping the IAF on it's toes because they constantly take flight paths which they shouldn't over certain parts of Israel. And if you mean because of air superiority. Then I apologize for my country having a strong airforce, it was our mistake for not curling up and dying.
20. Symbolism? (17)
Shai ,   Israel   (08.24.05)
I'll accept the symbolic value of Palestinian sovereingty over an airstrip in Gaza when the Palestinians accept the symbolic value of Jewish sovereingty over the Temple Mount.
21. airport?
Michael ,   Austin, TX, USA   (08.24.05)
Let's see if they can handle a damn bus stop first....then build up to more sophisiticated modes of transport. People have to EARN trust. And really, why should Israel trust them? Other arabs don't....so why should Israel?
22. oh my
edward ,   las vegas   (08.24.05)
shai, what an idiotic comparison. and i guess that would mean you would never accept an airstrip in gaza. the noble sanctuary is a disputed holy site, not a barganning chip. it is meaningful to both peoples, so neither side will ever give it up. so share it.

Obviously no one trusts the jews either- The UN certainly does not- and neither do most Americans- Been following the AIPAC spy scandal? The Palestinains need their own country- jews wont give them equal rights, so they have to have their own govt, away from racist JEWish laws. And this means soveirenty over their own travel.
24. Response to Dan (post 9)
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (08.24.05)
I agree with you Dan that Palestinians must abandon violence and must thank Israel for taking a step towards peace, but both you and I know that giving Gaza back while keeping it locked down has no economic value which is a must have in order to live and prosper! It's almost like having a car without the ability to drive it on roads!
25. Response to Anonynous (post 19)
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (08.24.05)
I love the sarcasm, keep it coming :)
26. Response to post 19 (part 2)
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (08.24.05)
How about instead of allowing Palestinians an airport and Gaza airspace, have ElAl planes into Gaza airport and have all Arab passengers be cuffed to their seats while in Israeli airspace for the safety and well being of Tel-Aviv Skyscrapers!

Shai ,   Israel   (08.24.05)
Been following the Constitution? Innocent until proven guilty.
28. To 26
(08.24.05)
why don't they use airport in egypt. I'm amazed at how much arabs still want to be connected to Israel. Seriously I never thought that even the idea of using EL AL airplanes would be tangible. I guess when it comes to it, the devil zionists are more reliable and dependable than the angel pan-arabists.

USA   (08.25.05)
Been following the patriot act? it actually BACKfired on the Jews in AIPAC, or the pro-Israelis, or zionists, or whatever is politically correct to call them. The Patriot act, once used to expose terrorists . now is working to expose the spies who helped write it. OUCH BURN, can you say karma on your behind??

"Obviously no one trusts the jews either- The UN certainly does not and neither do most Americans." Obviously you don't watch the news or read newspapers. If you had, you'd know about the CORRUPTION in the UN! Oil for food ring any bells for ya? The word "TRUST" should not be applied to such an evil and corrupted organization! As far as most Americans not trusting Israel....where did you get your information?
