1. this is essentially like "cross burning"
Howard ,   Pacific Coast, USA   (09.04.05)
This behavior is no different from the Ku Klux Klan (US racist group) burning crosses to threaten minorities such as Jews and African Americans. It is disgusting and should be treated as a hate crime. As with the original murders, Jews should know better than to engage in this kind of obnoxious act.
2. nothing like cross burning - not illegal in the least!!
leeor ,   US   (09.04.05)
they demand an inquiry into the failure of the police to defend a man who was innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and this broke the law how?!?!?!?1
3. Re. #1
Lenny ,   USA   (09.04.05)
I think that you may be missing the point. The goal of the posters was apparently to make some noise about a very disturbing fact: almost nothing is known about what happened there. Not why he shot them, and not how he himself was killed. For example- and I'm not saying that this is what happened, but- do we know that he wasnt threatened with a gun? Do we have any idea on what happened the moments before here shot the victims? However, I believe that tis group's goal was to determine how he could have been beaten to death by a crowd while still cuffed and under police custody. No matter the crime, a person has the right to police protection, and his punishment is by the rule of law only. How on earth could he have been killed after being in custody for so long? It seems almost as though they handed him out to the crowd..?! I believe that this is the point. Within the past year alone, literally hundreds of Arabs have been arrested *on their way to carry out a homicide bombing*, yet they arent killed by the police, but rather arrested until they could be tried. Unless of course there is an immediate risk etc... In a democtratic country, the one thing you make sure not to do is allow the punishment to be given by an angry crowd. With G-d's help such a thing would never ever occur again. And the situation and climate in which it happend should never have to be on the Jewish people again either. Lenny
4. Where's the justice?
Ian ,   Atlantic Coast, USA   (09.04.05)
Why wasn't the Arab lynch mob punished for murdering an already disarmed young man? It is no secret that Eden Natan Zada was tied up BEFORE he was killed - he no longer posed any threat and should have been left to the authorities. His killers are still on the loose, probably because the Israeli government is too afraid of Arab reprisal should they actually come to arrest them. Instead they arrest people for hanging posters. Outrageous!
5. Agitators want civil war between Israeli's
(09.04.05)
6. Agreed Howard
Raykie ,   Israel   (09.04.05)
That's why the Kach party is outlawed in Israel. These people are in no way representative of any group of law abiding Israelis, whether left or right wing.
7. #2-#3 - you completely missed what is going on here
Howard ,   Pacific Coast, USA   (09.04.05)
These are Kach party members. One of their oft-expressed goals is to drive Arabs out of areas under Israeli control, and they are happy to use intimidation and/or force to achieve this disgusting and ludicrous objective. These posters were posted in Shfaram in order to say to the local residents, "people who support what was done to you can come into your town at any time and maybe do it again. Never think that you are safe from us." Taunting and intimidation of worried minorities do not constitute legitimate political speech. And the wording of these posters clearly shows that these were people who hold that a murderer is "righteous," which is a far cry from what #2 and #3 are claiming. #5 - very possibly. This, too, resembles lunatic-fringe hate groups in the US, which similarly plan to cause a "race war." The idea is appalling wherever it rears its ugly head. #6 Raykie - I agree 100%. Israel has outlawed terrorist groups like kach for very good reasons. Most Israelis -- in all factions -- were horrified by the murders in Shfaram and most would condemn this obscene act of intimidation. #3: You are trying to insinuate that he might have been the victim, without actually claiming it. Sorry, sir; give it up. Accept that there are Jewish lunatics too. You are forgetting that the man talked to people, including a security guard and the police officers. You are forgetting that he killed the bus driver; 2 young women; and an old man. No, all of these people did not threaten him with guns. And nobody shot the man. ;-) If you find that whenever someone on your side does something evil, you deny that it happened or paint him as a victim, this is a sign that you, like Hamas and its supporters, are an extremist. The Kach group calls the murderer a martyr and phone in threats against the families of the victims, who were dead at the time and had no part in killing the murderer. No, these are not people who are interested in legitimate political dialog or in following the law.

Your completely correct in what you wrote.
9. #7 To my surprise, I agree with you ! Spot on.....

10. this is what's wrong with israel
leeor   (09.04.05)
well one of the many things, anyway israel needs to have freedom of speech, the same as is enshrined in the united states, kakatuv: "congress shall pass no law respecting...the freedom of speech, or of the press" - i.e. it is not illegal for me to say ANYTHING i want except for explicit threats and incitements - to demand of a hostile population who KILLED a man. people in my book are innocent until proven guilty - that's what i was raised upon - especially when they do pose an additional threat. they killed a man and the police couldn't stop them - this hostile population should stand trial! and i should be allowed to say that, say that anywhere i want in my state. i should also be allowed to commemorate the death of anyone i want - considering he was never found guilty in a court of law! - all the rest of you know absolutely nothing about due process, civil rights, etc
11. Re #7
Lenny ,   USA   (09.04.05)
I'm not at all supporting murder of anyone innocent- that is absolutely wrong, period. But I am saying that if you separate the name 'Kach" from the story, then there are valid questions as to what happened. Why do I think that there may be something more to the story? A- Because factually there are many questions that havent been answered, and B- Being that such a thing is Thank G-d very rare, it demands much more investigation than other terrorist acts. If an American soldier in Iraq shot at a group of Iraqis, was then arrested, and then a good while later taken by a crowd and killed, I think that a good investigation should be carried out and publicized. Wheresas if it were reversed- an Iraqi 'insurgant' attacked a US patrol and was killed, in all likelihood, the 'insurgant' was exactly that, and the end result was justified. I belive that the same thing applies here. The story is strange and demands a real investigation- or if it has already been done, then the public should know the results. This has nothing to do with Kach... But if this issue is already touched upon, I am starting to seriously think that Mayer Kahane may have had some valid points. I dont see how an 'Israel' could exist in the future with the current demographic trend... But thats another issue entirely. May we hear good news, Lenny
12. CONTEXT
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (09.04.05)
To understand the gravity of this incident one must look at the context. In just today's YNET was a story of "Jim Crow" schools in Israel -- presumably government funded -- and in the "liberal" Tel Aviv area (Lod) yet !!!! Then there are other stories of incidents in which Arab ISRAELIS seem to be targeted by Jewis ISRAELIS, and these go back several years to police shooting a crowd of Arab demonstrators in one city. The Israeli police would NEVER shoot into a Jewish crowd as they did the Arabs.
13. to # 7 and 11
ari ,   har adar   (09.04.05)
I just wanted to add one thing. The Kach party as we know it today is NOT what it used to be. Rabbi Kahana did not believe in going out and murdering arabs.Rabbi Kahana would not approve of his followers to spray paint "Kahana was right" all over the country(Even though I believe kahana WAS right). I have read a few books by the late Rabbi and he is briliant. I encourage you both to pick one up even if you do not agree with his points.
14. Racism and Extremism
Salameh ,   Gaza   (09.04.05)
I wonder how more evident could it for people to start realizing that Racism aganist all that is Arab in this land and Extremism amongs the zionist right wing is threatening not only us, but also the common people in Israel, leading to more bloodletting and devestated future for our children and yours. It is high time to tell that those who promote occupation and call for its continuation are simply pushing everyone to the brink of the abyss. I also wonder where those racists Linda, Daisy, NYC girl and others now, how come they ignore to post here and come up with their hallucinating conspiracy theories??

Whom do you think you are fooling? what kind of nonesense is that? what do you mean they wnat to know what happened? Haven't you read his will-letter he left behind? it was all over the israeli media? but i think when hatred blinds your heart, it also blinds you heart
16. No arabs are arrested for stoning to death an Israeli
Bunnie ,   Santa Monica, CA   (09.05.05)
soldier, but there men are arrested for hanging posters? The Israeli's don't stone "palestinians" to death, and there is no death sentence in Israel, but there is in pna land. Put it in perspective. The arabs have 22 nations to themselves having driven out the Jews, let Israel be a Jewish country and let the arabs pick any of the 22 countries to live in.
17. Bunnie
Farouk ,   Jerusalem   (09.05.05)
We both have a record of killings, it is unfortunate. Both sides are to blame. Now regarding Palestinians chossing out of 22 countries, this was solved many yaers ago. Remeber the US Congress report, "This is not a conflict about a piece of land, this is a conflict about this piece of land" In otherwords the choice was made, we chose Palestine.
18. Eden was murdered
Nick Nafsack ,   Israel   (09.06.05)
Arab witnesses have testified that Eden tried to get the bus driver to let him off the bus after he was verbally harassed by hostile Arab males. The bus driver wouldn't let Eden off and the hostile Arabs attacked Eden, attempting to take his weapon. Eden fired his weapon and did not intend to kill the young women or the bus driver. He probably did intend to kill one of those who died. He did fire into the crowd that gathered after he was attacked, and held them at bay until the police arrived. He gave the Arab police his weapon and allowed them to handcuff him. An hour later, the Arab police turned him over to the crowd who murdered him.
