need no Red Cross no Red Crescent. Israel doesn't need to link with all of those rotten organisations. Israel have to learn to free itself from American and western bondage.
2. BEYOND CHUPZPAH!
Claudia W. ,   Ashod   (09.13.05)
The world should be ashamed to have allowed itself to be a part of pure hate for an organization and a people small in size yet large in scope who contribute so richly unlike any other people on the planet. How is it possible to have faith in the human race under such conditions?
3. Red Cross doesn't do too much when the israelis get hurted
george ,   tiberias, israel   (09.13.05)
do they?
4. too bad
(09.13.05)
its just so many people around the world dont like ISrael, the jews, so it would be hard to see the star of david, if one was in trouble and not know whether they were good or bad people.
5. Does anyone still deny anti-Semitism??
JJ   (09.13.05)
For 60 years, the Star of David is excluded by the haters of Israel, the hypcocrites and racists of the Red Cross and Red Crescenet, the same symbols used to mercilessly attack the Jewish people for centuries. 6 decades of exclusion - 6 decades since the Holocaust - anti-Semitism is alive and well in this world.

i like the star of david, I think its beautiful. 2 triangles , 6 triangles, etc. I just think what its become to mean for many people, - the symbols take on a life of their own- the Palestinians and arabs see it as an oppressor- the symbol that has come to kill their babies, take their olive orchards- with big fancy US bought tanks-look at the the swastica-it was a nice symbol too, it looks like infinity etc. but it came to represent a horrible war.
7. International Red Cross
Alex ,   USA   (09.13.05)
Thank goodness the Jewish people never relied on the Red Cross. The Jewish people are the most generous philanthropic of all, Jews in poverty are not allowed to suffer, and the Jewish Nobel Prize winners have benefited the lives of billions.

You are so filled with hate and ignorance you are not brave enough to put your name, all that hate inside you will eat you up, the sooner the better. The world dosn't need any more hate mongers like you. Why don't you get an education and then you might be able to comment in a dignifed and reasonable manner!
9. King David Star
Uncle Sam ,   Chicago   (09.14.05)
Wake up people, Israel can't use the same star as humaiarian simple and as a kiling terrorist simple. as on the Isralei F15 & F16 kiling fighters and on the ATOMIC BOMBS
10. take off the crescent then . . .
to 6   (09.14.05)
With your logic, the crescent reminds me of muslim terror in the name of their religion and therefore it should not be part of redcross
11. #5 learn some facts
(09.14.05)
israel is not an opressor. the other countries didn't want the land back. the palestinians were never sovereign and they aren't native to "palestine" either. they are the ones who are mudering us...blowing themselves up to kill us. our army defends itself and doesn't target innocent civilians. their goal is to kill innocent civilians. blowing yourself up in a piazza store is not a military action. it is an act of hate.

It’s ironic – The Red Cross was started by Jewish Doctors

The History of the Red Cross (Also Visit Our National Online Museum Here!) In 1862 Henri Dunant, a young Swiss businessman, wrote “A Memory of Solferino” in which he described the horrible carnage he had witnessed on a battlefield in Italy in 1859. Dunant proposed a neutral organization devoted to the care of the sick and wounded of armies at war. In 1863, Dunant’s efforts let to the formation of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the convening of an international conference in Geneva, Switzerland. The symbol of the Red Cross on a white background (the reverse of the Swiss flag) was chosen to represent the organization. From this conference evolved the Red Cross Convention of 1864. During this period the United States was being ravaged by Civil War. Clara Barton, a schoolteacher, was one of many individuals who volunteered to help care for the wounded of both sides through an organization called the United States Sanitary Commission. She went to Europe after the war where she learned of the Red Cross Movement and participated in relief efforts for both soldiers and civilians during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. Upon returning home, Clara worked to form a Red Cross Society in the United States. In 1881, with the help of friends, she founded the American Association of the Red Cross. The following year, the United States ratified the Geneva Convention, giving the Red Cross official sanction. The American National Red Cross was chartered by the Congress of the United States to: 1. Assist the government in fulfilling obligations undertaken in signing the Geneva Conventions, 2. Serve as a link between members of our armed forces and their families, and 3. Provide relief for victims of disaster in this country and abroad and to prepare for disasters.
14. 6 - So what about the cross and crescent?
David ,   United States   (09.14.05)
Weren't they, and don't they remain symbols of opression to certain people? How many people were slaughtered in the name of the Cross during the crusades and inquisitions? Do you think Muslims like the Crucifix any more than than they do the Star of David? How many people were slaughtered under the Crescent during the Muslim conquest? How many people have been killed by terrorists under this symbol? Do you think that Jews feel warm inside when they see a vehicle with a Red Crescent on its side? Certainly not. Finally, stop with the comparisons to the Holocaust. Please. It's disgusting and degrading. Regardless of how you view the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, there is simply no comparing it with the deliberate slaughter of six million people. All you are proving by bringing this into the discussion is that you are either a Muslim ideologue or worse, a European/American dumb enough to buy into Palestinian rhethoric. The bottom line is that it's ludicrous to think that the IIRC includes two of the worlds major religions, but somehow has a problem with the third.
