The Altneushul is actually not available for services any more because of a certain unfortunate event that took place there a couple of months ago. Also be sure to visit the Jubilejna synagogue in Jeruzalemska street, which is easily the most beautiful (and biggest) of all. You won't be able to enter it as restoration work is being done, but its front has been fully renovated and is worth a visit for its own sake. mls_lists@msn.com

Prague is a city of Jewish Ghosts. Only One Shul is opearational, depending upon tourists for a minyan. There are police outside of the High Shul and TV surveillance of the MisPalilim. The Cross on Charles The 4thBridge. with Kadosh,Kadosh in Hebrew. Prague is a sad place for Jews to visit. I was overjoyed to leave and go on to Israel.

Prague is really beautiful. However, it seems to me that Hitler wanted these Synagogues as Museums after he got rid of us Jews. In a way he has succeeded. It is like one big Jewish Museum, with non Jews making money out of the Jewish story. Beautiful, but sad and empty of all but a bit of life as it should be! Some of the tourists looking round the Shuls probably haven't ever seen a real live Jew! They probably think we don't have vibrant thriving communities elsewhere!
