1. Istanbul's Jewish History

The article is great, and it really reflects what most people experience in Istanbul. But I wish you had also mentioned the fact that Istanbul has been one of the greatest Jewish centers in the Ottoman days, with a dominantly Sephardic history since 1492 -when most Sephardim were invited to Istanbul during the Spanish inquisition-, many synagogues were built around the city. The Bosphorus villages of Kuzguncuk, and Ortakoy, even have a church, a synagogue and a mosque right by each other, really putting a stamp of peace in this eternal city.
