1. We fear, they fear, we all fear together
Ilan ,   Ariel   (09.30.05)
Fear is the name of the game. The Kassam is a weapon of fear and low flights over the Strip are a weapon of fear. Of course artillery would also invoke fear, but isn't practical as it would also kill large numbers of people. So what does Mr. Fishman propose? That Israel take real steps to elimnate kassam fire, or continue with the air show? Or perhaps do nothing.
2. BOMB THEM!
Avraham ,   Netivot   (09.30.05)
3. The real test is yet to come
Rachel BenDavid   (09.30.05)
The real test is if, G-d forbid, someone dies as a result of a Kassam launched at the western Negev or at Netiv Ha'asara. Then an "air show" will not be enough. Will the IDF bomb civilian targets then?
4. Oh no, don't scare them!!
daniel ,   holland   (09.30.05)
Much better to give the Palestinians the idea that they have nothing to fear so that the violence will continue. Great idea.
5. Fear
J K ,   NYC, USA   (09.30.05)
Blah blah blah. We get the authors point. Israel has lots of toys at their disposal to make life hell for the Palestinians is Qassams continue to be launched. The real point is, if the Palestinians thought Israels withdrawl was some kind of weakness, they have something else coming to them. Hamas, who will turn any defeat into a victory continues to press it's 'advantage' to the detriment of the Palestinian people, bringning the IDF (which just left) back in their faces. So, I agree with the author that if they think they will know a nights sleep while attackeing over what is now a de-facto border with another sovreign country, they have lots of lead things coming to them.
6. Childish Act .
Ali ,   GAZA   (09.30.05)
Shame on this (civilsed and modern ) country !!!..proud to frightened kids in kindergartens and to nightmare their sleep !!..Hell !!
7. Fear=Terror
Birger ,   Jerusalem   (09.30.05)
According to my thesaurus fear is another word for terror and vice versa.
8. Don't blame the Israelis...
Yonatan ,   Knoxville, USA   (09.30.05)
Israel was attacked immediately after she left Gaza...Hamas then blamed Israel for their own screw up during their stupid parade that killed and maimed their own people. Hamas fired more rockets into Israel... The solution is simple, stop Hamas. Are people so stupid they can't see the real problem here? Aren't the Palistinians tired of this yet? I have to tell you, I feel sorry for the average Palistinian person. I'm sure they feel helpless to stop this, and they have to suffer as a result.

Hey, give Israel some credit. Moving out of Gaza got the IDF and 'settlers' out of your face on a daily basis and this was supposed to be the Palestinian chance to put together a workable society, sans Israel mucking around. But, Hamas decided on its own to cover their tracks by launching Qassams at Israel. What do you think, Israel will simply sit there and take it while their citizens are being attacked over an international boundry line and being injured or killed in Sderot or Netiv Ha'asarah? If you want to blame anyone, blame Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the ones who bring the IDF back to the Palestinian people and make their children be frightened and have nightmares. No Qassams and homicide bombers, no IDF. Fairly simple, like your reasoning.
10. ISRAEL FIGHTS RELIGIOUS TERROR WAR WITH WORDS & NOISE
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (09.30.05)
The U.S. EU, UN, and Israeli leaders taught the lesson to Islamofascists and terrorists worldwide that over 26,000 terrorist attacks against Israel's Jews in the last five years and thousands of Jews maimed and murdered achieved the huge reward and approval of an Islamic international terror state in Israel. What do Islamofascists have to fear? Only temporary noise and empty fields being hit.
11. Gaza after withdrawal
Joe ,   Israel   (09.30.05)
All of the tactics employed by the IDF in your article were available before the withdrawal. I don't get it.
12. Birger , Jerusalem / 7. Fear=Terror
Joel Schaffer ,   Belleair Bluffs, Fl   (09.30.05)
If the enemy only respects fear & pain then Israel should give it to them, lots of it and do not let up. No mercy, finish this once & for all. I am sick of watching their phony parades and hearing the lies they tell their own people fostering this false sense of confidence, as if the Pathetic Philistine Terrorists actually forced Israel to disengage as opposed to the reality that the outside world, the court of public opinion and the US actually paved the way for the disengagement....AS IF ISRAEL WOULD WALK AWAY FROM A FIGHT, PLEASE. Every time anything compassionate is done they interpret it as weakness so no more compassion, no more good faith gestures only fear & pain until they finally give up and make peace....and keep their word for once... Anything less will only prolong the inevitable Eventually we will have to drive them into Egypt, Jordan, Syria & Lebanon. Let's do it now & be home in time for the holidays. Happy New Year.
13. They kill us, We make sonic booms!
Dudu ,   Kfar Sava   (09.30.05)
The Sharon- Peres Government is becoming a total joke. What Next, Sharon will send Omri to brake wind in Khan Yunis?
14. Post 6 the hypocrite
???   (09.30.05)
"proud to frightened kids in kindergartens." You people do that to your children all of the time. Your "men" start a fight and then run and hide behind women and children. You teach your children to hate and brainwash them into thinking that suicide bombing is an honorable thing to do. You teach them to hate Jews, to kill Jews, and then you turn around and complain about airplane noises. You people are hopeless.
15. Losing the High Moral Ground
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (09.30.05)
This behavior is shocking. To be sure, Israel has the right to defend its people from rockets. But the actions described in this article could, up until now, have been believed only of Hitler's Nazis. We can be sure that when the Holocaust is discussed, there will be people who look at Israel in Gaza.
16. A new year is among us
Uzi ,   Washington DC   (09.30.05)
It's time to stop this narrow dogmatic rhetoric of baseless inept hate, on both sides. We Jews, are supposed to be a "Light unto the Nations"...not a mere reflection of that light. So to hear this hateful drivel coming from fellow Jews is sickening. It truly is. Hate has no ethnicity. It has no citizeniship, gender, nor racial and or religious affiliation. Justice is also the same exact way. I.E.: If Palestinian kill innocent Jews...then those Jews deserve justice. And by that same token, if Jews kill innocent Palestinians, then those who are innocent equally deserve justice. But no group, should ever imply and or claim that they hold a monopoly that justice. Im only 23, but to hear this hate coming from my fellow brothers and sisters, especially with Rosh Hashanah on the horizon is not good. This is the time when you should be reflecting on the last year. But to have all of this hate at the end of the year, isn't a good way to start of this next year. These people aren't are teachers of how we should think, live, and conduct our lifes. This new year we should truly understand what it means to start reflecting that "Light" of ours, to the rest of the world. A world that is all to often, pitted in darkness and hopeless despair. Shalom and have a Happy High Holiday!
