1. why are they still living in tents?
john   (10.19.05)
Is their choice? why are these guys are still living in tents. Are they classified as refugees. May be the UN can help them?
2. Best news since Chomsky won his Nobel Prize
accessol ,   Spelthorne, England   (10.19.05)
Holy rain sent from heaven; Baruch Hashem.
3. Are Jews EVER given humanitarian considerations?
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (10.19.05)
The homes of thousands of Jews were destroyed to please the Jew-hating U.S. EU UN, Russia and the Islamofascists. Homes the Jews must still pay mortgages on. Now the jobless and homeless Jewish refugees are flooded out in their tents and Jew-haters are rejoicing, such as accessol. As a good will gesture, it would be nice if Sharon could invite the Jewish refugees to stay on his very large ranch. And all those in government who voted to make Jews jobless and homeless, and all those who took part in the forcible removal of Jews from their homes and land, it would be a nice good will gesture if you would invite the Jewish refugees into your homes, also.
4. re: why still in tents
Amnon ,   Jerusalem   (10.19.05)
Because the Sharon government was more concerned with destroying Gush Katif than taking care of the families he was making homeless. No community solution was created, despite requests by the people long before they were expelled. Sharon's intentional "mis"-planning is intended to break the spirit of the people. He doesn't want to keep them together, he wants to destroy the communities by forcing the people to divide and separate. They have made it clear - they would rather live together in tents than separate and spread out all over the place. Begin's Sinai evacuation was planned over three years. Sharon's plan involved throwing people into hotels, abandoning them there. Most have still received NO payment. Nothing.
5. may God forgive them for directly challenging him.
(10.19.05)
HE has warned them with light rains. If they don't listen HE will flood them out.

They're in tents, because they were forced out of their homes, as you didn't know. No, UN does not help Jewish refugees, never did. Didn't help those who settled in Israel after WWII, didn't help Jews forced out or escaping Arab countries after 1948, didn't help Polish Jews forced out of Poland after 1968, didn't help Russian Jews, nor Ethiopian Jews and will not help those Jews. Palestinians, on the other hand, have their very own UN refugee agency and are still being supported by the UN after almost 60 years. BY the way, it is nice to know, that the "Palestinians" are enjoying bumper crop of organic tomatoes and peppers from the farms those Jews in those flooded tents had built from nothing. Yeah, for some it is the best news since Chomsky won the whatever prize.
8. RE: Linda #3
EL ,   Tel Aviv   (10.19.05)
Linda, I am a Jew and not a Jew hater, but lets set some things straight, the only reason these people are jobless and homeless is their repetetive failure to plan and to accept reality. The fact that they got flooded out today further highlights their amazing ability to ignore whats happening around them hoping that someone else will provide.Anyone who has lived in this country formore than a year knows that the first drenchings come in mid October and continue till Pesach. These people need to get off their arse as a community and accept reality and build newer, stronger and better lives.
9. cry me a river..oh wait
yiftah ,   israel   (10.20.05)
they're still living in tents as a foolish principle, to show sharon's government that they are not willing to live in the nice hotel rooms and caravans the government has rented for them. they want to be seen as refugees, even though they are still entitled to massive amounts of government compensation, unlike, you know, actually refugees. like the ones in pakistan now, who after the earthquake have no food, water, shelter, clothing. but no, let's care about spoiled settlers complaining about getting a little wet.
10. To #8 and #9
AK   (10.20.05)
So, those ungrateful “settlers” are refusing to quietly accept hotel rooms and trailers in exchange for their homes, businesses, farms and communities. How tedious it must be for all you Tel Aviv cosmopolitans. After all you have already had enough of all that old news and you’re ready to move on – on to the next …. What exactly do the Israelis move on to, I wonder? Ah… now I remember, so they can move on to throw more people out of their homes. Was it 41 communities, somebody on the Left suggested, or was it 43? Well a few thousand one way or another doesn’t really matter, does it?
11. why these guys are still in tents
ali   (10.20.05)
Is it their choice that they remain in tents. May be we should ask for UN intervention?
12. Yeah Ali, lets call UN in
AK   (10.20.05)
and keep them on welfare for the next 60 or 100 years, like you.
13. Disobedience
Heinz ,   Canada   (10.22.05)
The world is in the state that it is in because of the disobedience of man to God's will. Perhaps if we can humble ourselves a whole bunch, we may have a chance at getting along with each other.
14. tents & rain
Eileen Ferraro ,   Bedford NH   (10.24.05)
I am so impressed with the attitudes of the people that have lost their homes. They are so patient in this struggle that it puts us in America to shame. We should take note. Rain is a sign of blessing especially this time of year. May their new homes be blessed as well and be put up quickly.
