nice interiors what about the exteriors? what about showing the work being carrined out in the garden near the girls school inside the Gate of Mercy (Golden Gate) on the Temple Mount side (east of the Dome of the Rock lower garden)? what about showing the work being done in the system of cisterns between the Dome of the Rock, the Moslem library and the Gate of the Chain (west of the Dome of the Rock)? why not explain that the part of the set of photographs taken inside the Dome of the Rock (lower level under the Foundation Stone) is actually a cave known as "Solomon's Cave" whose existence has been know for hundreds of years and which may in fact be part of the supporting structure for the water drainage system from the Jewish Temple. By the way this area is well preserved, is not new and according to the video you present has no evidence of recent changes (within the last five years) In other words being that I live here in Israel I don't see anything new to be excited about. The single biggest mistake Israel made (credit this blunder to Moshe Dayan)was to give its holiest ! site to the Muslim Wafq. The enormity of this blunder is what fuels the jihad. The Arab Muslims truly believe that they will eternally have control of Judaism's holiest site. In addition, they hold in contempt (and I can't blame them for this) a people/country relinquishing its holiest site. Can you imagine the Muslims giving Mecca & Medina to the infidels? Unthinkable. They wage jihad over a reported (whether true or not) flushed Koran. If Israel doesn't take back the Temple Mount the Islamic jihad will for sure continue. The insane Israeli policy that Jews are a "provocation" at the Temple Mount is exactly what keeps their fantasies fueled. I suspect the secular left "elite" realize all of the above and therefore want the status quo. In other words, they would rather have Judaism's holiest site in Muslim hands, than to give the so called upper hand in Israeli politics/power to Jewish nationalists. YNet seems to have added a bit of bias to this article by quoting an archeologist who claims that the Waqf hasn't damaged Jewish antiquities. I'm sure that you are aware that this is hardly a universal opinion among Israeli archaeologists and there is strong evidence that the Waqf has in fact destroyed priceless Jewish treasures from the First Temple period. It makes one wonder why an otherwise good article had to veer towards a possibly false, and politically sensitive, premise.
