I never said humor should be based on truth. What I did say was that Ray's non-truthful article is not funny because the article is simple and written in a poor, doll manner.

Both sides of this conflict have a tendency to dehumanize the other. Both sides have perpetuated lies. Both sides have committed despicable acts. It is healthy to want to laugh about it. The reality is that the majority of Israelis and Palestinians (Muslim and Christian) are victims rather than core troublemakers. The majority is willing to make peace and the real problem is that people are not taking the weapons away from those who continue to make problems by killing. No matter what the tally or who the victim is there is no excuse for targeting the old/infirm, pregnant women, or children. There is no excuse for teaching children hate and no excuse for caring more about bringing someone else down than lifting yourself up. There is no excuse for not deposing leaders that rule by fear, who steal from their own people, who keep their people in deplorable conditions rather than try to build up something new, honest and solid. My personal feeling is that until the Palestinian people handle their own internal problems there will be no peace between the two sides.

Please keep writing Ray Hanania. Don't be discouraged. Keep in mind those who criticize you also read you.

Robert Goldman is a constant reminder of the hatred that exists out there and why Palestinians and Israelis have a difficult chance of making real peace.
