1. Yes and with the Gaza deal signed
Dan ,   Nashville, TN   (11.16.05)
they have the supply lines established for weapons, men, and other materiel they need to conduct the war. I'm deeply depressed over this border crossing deal.
2. Let me guess, these aren't the Hamas running in the election
(11.16.05)
The ones Rice ordered you to allow to run? Is it nice to be a US colony? Go China!
3. Inaccurate analysis = house of cards
Ilan ,   Ariel   (11.16.05)
I don't suppose it makes a difference to Shelah that this last killing of a hamas terrorist like many of the previous ones took place in the context of Israel trying to apprehend and not eliminate a fugitive. That isn't a semantic issue, since Israel has a clear right to apprehend people in order to prevent their terrorist activities. As to what hamas does, that isn't dependent on Israel. They are committed ideologically to attack us and will do so when they feel they can get away with it.
4. Yea, i can't wait for this collision! Let's kick their ass!

Only Israel has the right to have weapons. They are more responsible, and know how to use them. They have got the self-punctuality, and wisedom to only use weapons when needed. Palestinians use their powers excessively. They escalate the situation all the time. I am too depressed!

Yes, they are methodically built to kill and attack you. They are evil by birth. Even if Israel gives them all the land, Orshalaym, and return their refugees, they'll still attack Israel. It does make sense! I agree!

WH ,   UK   (11.16.05)
Yes, it would be fun to kick their ass as you did in South Lebanon and Gaza!
9. i dont agree with that theory at all
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (11.16.05)
hamas has been very severely disabled by the routine and consistent atacks upon its leadership. any new leaders from Hamas find it almost impossible to live normal lives let alone carry out orders / train the next generation. how can Hamas leaders train and organise their fighters when they are forced to flee from one safe house to another and eventually we know that they hardly last a year at most before the IAF gunships catch up with them. What Israel is doing is using the, as yet, successful technique of hunting and assasinating hamas leaders which severely interfers with Hamas's ability to maintain resources and plan effective attacks against Israel. Also, the writer of this article fails to make any mention of the security fence which has played a dramatic and effective role in reducing hamas's ability to carry out attacks. And by the pal elections next year (if they are not delayed yet again as they routinely are) the fence will be well on the way through the more dangerous areas creating even greater security for the Israeli side. for all of the above reasons, I am not convinced that there will be any great war with hamas approaching but just the ongoing conflict based on current climate of (relatively) low violence from the group that call themselves "hamas".
10. WHus: Sarcasm doesn't work when it's too close to truth
Ilan ,   Ariel   (11.16.05)
11. Duh, who told you this? The right?
(11.16.05)
Maybe they're right about many other things.

14. more war?
djs ,   usa   (11.17.05)
yes, Amos 1:6-8 and more.
15. There will never be a next war...
josef cohen ,   bkk thailand   (11.17.05)
There will never be a next war, because this is the same war that was started with the inavasion of Arab armies in 1948 and is just being fought on different fronts and differing levels of heat. And because it is a war the Geneva convention only dictates what can basicaly be ascribed as a fair use of force to kill or capture an opponent. There is and never has been an obligation during a war to secure a writ of prosecution and limit yourself to arresting combatants for trial. For consideration, Josef Cohen

17. The end of Gaza
Caro ,   Beaver,Pa   (11.17.05)
Read Isaiah 10 and 11 for context. The last part of Isaiah 11 decribes the end of Gaza.It is no accident that the E.U. is managing the crossing.Within(not all) the E.U. is Ephraim. The path we are on ,that seems to confuse the author, was set in motion over 2500 years ago, just as was the recoverery of all the land in 1917.We just do not,as yet, have the population to fill it all.We shall.
18. Hunting down the terrorists
Daniel Krygier ,   Copenhagen, Denmark   (11.18.05)
Since giving in to terrorists as Israel did extensively a decade ago only resulted in more terror and butchered Israeli civilians, that path is closed. Regardless if it is politically correct or not, the only rational thing to do with an enemy like Hamas which is committed to your destruction, is to destroy him instead. Israel should prepare itself for a long-term non-stop fullscale operation with the aim of wiping terror groups like Hamas off the face of the earth. Every terrorist should constantly feel that he or she is a fugitive who has no prospects of escaping justice.
19. hamas
jan ,   usa   (11.19.05)
l think is time to get rid of hamas once and for all, the security and the future of israel depends on it. abbas has shown that he is not capable to deal with these people.
