why do u have to make it legal? its israel!!!!! u can find those things everywhere!!!! the time i volunteered in a kibutz in there i was really shocked about the amount and the freedom of use from these things in the kibutzim i had noticed already cos i had lived in one for a short time before but then i noticed how free it is even in the big cities like tel aviv or haifa :) its just a reality israelis try to deny the maximum they can so what does it matter if its legal or not? its everywhere and police does nothing so nothing will change :)

I don't think legalizing marijuana would be a good idea. But it's time to face many problems in the israeli society, and that some youths lost their ideals. This proposition could be a good purpose for a public debate. Many young israelis end-up their miltary services, and travel abroad to India. They finish in Mumbay, and some of them become drug-dependants. Those people need some direct help from the State. And NOT by financing detoxification centers in India. I think we must definitely forbid Marijuana. At first for health care reasons, but also for public security, because the drug-market is in arab hands, and we can suspect where the money is going.

If it is legal then the criminal aspects will disappear. As for the deterioration of social wht a load of rubbish. My grandfather was religious and smoked with the other older Eastern jewish cuz it was traditional for them. They maintained the social fabrik of their community for generations without any ill effect. I am not aware of evidence of any communities in the world where it is tradional that they have suffered due to the use of cannabis, Finally Human beings are specifically wired neurological with receptors to experience cannabis. If it is not a criminal act to grow cannabis then the "drug market" is no longer dependent on the arabs. Even though I believe that was a terrible blanket statement about the Israeli-Arab population.
