I have been to B & H numerous times and let me tell you something....it's a sight to see. I came about 30 minutes before opening on Sunday morning and most of the employees are brought from Brooklyn on commuter buses that stop right on the side of the store. Then, what appear to be all the chassidim in the world file off that bus and head in the store to get it ready for business. The place is H-U-G-E and there is a ton of stuff to examine...cameras, electronics, hell...telescopes too. I always found the salesmen to be very knowledgable if a little pushy, but I think its because they genuinely like the technology. When you buy something and an order is places, you are ushered over to a line that looks like you are standing outside a concert box office and you wait for your item to be called. Where to they come from? Downstairs, but they care conveyed upstairs by what can best be called a Rube Goldberg contraption that carrys baskets full of merchandise overhead that ferrys your purchase to you. If you want to make a return or exchange, there is a seperate side entrance for that. Also, if you want to sell old equipment for a store credit, there is another entrance that takes you upstairs to do that. I would have to say that entering into this place feels a bit like walking into the Twilight Zone, but its a first rate establishment and despite all the craziness with the people and the layout, it actually works.
2. always a positive experience!

best of all is that I don't look Jewish or Isareli -- it always gives the sales staff pause when I start chit-chatting with them in Hebrew...but once they get over the initial shock they are into it and wonderful...always taking time to ask about life in "Eretz HaKodesh!" Always a fun and positive experience and you always have the feeling that you are getting good equipment from a reliable source! thanks B&H!
