1. If only...
Shai ,   Israel   (12.04.05)
If only the US was as vehement in demanding the Russians not sell weapons to Iran as it is that Israel not sell even Israeli made weapons to China, the US might be able to claim that it's main purpose is security and not merely commercial interests. C'mon US, give the Russians, and especially Putin, something to lose.
2. Why does Iran need nuclear power plants?
Micha ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.04.05)
Iran has so much oil that there is no way they need nuclear power plants. Therefore we must strongly suspect that they have other reasons for developing them.
3. So we will bomb 20 new nuclear plants
Jewhad ,   Israel   (12.04.05)
Have it your way.
4. What's the problem??
Michael Steiner ,   Praha, EU   (12.04.05)
Why all this pussyfooting? It's clear as day what the Iranians are up to so why isn't anybody doing something? It's high time for another Osirak!

Even high school students know that oil will end someday, so you don't give a good reason. What will the future generations have to use , should they buy energy from other countries? People are only suspiciose about Iran trying to make bombs, but everyone knows that countries like the US, India, Israel, ... have bombs, and noone does anything. It's a wierd world!
6. The answer is sabotage
Amen ,   UK   (12.04.05)
A Western country must sabotage Irans nuclear program. There must be a way of causing an explosion either nuclear or basic in a nuclear site that that will appear to be an accident so Iran will not be able to determine who or what caused it. This will be playing the Muslim game of attacking the West without the West being able to blame any specific Muslim country.

Not so weird. The US, India and Israel are interested in the deterent effect. Iran is an aggressive, hate-filled regime with no sense of restraint or decency.
8. reply #3
Marko ,   USA   (12.04.05)
Israel doesnt have the capacity to bomb multiple targets in Iran that are highly defended and buried underground. The IAF and IDF even reported that it's an impossibility to replicate the attack on Iraq's nuclear site on Iran.
9. Sind an Old Tanker in The Straits of Hormuz
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (12.04.05)
The scenario: 1) Iran announces breakdowns in its oil shipping sites so it can no longer ship oil 2) One or two old tankers sink, blocking the Straits of Hormuz so most Iraqi and Arabian peninsula oil shipping is stopped. 3) What are the American and world reactions to Israel's bombing? (You write this part of the scenario.)

I AM IN FULL AGREEMENT WITH YOUR ASSERTION. I DO NOT YET HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING AS TO WHY OUR PRESIDENT DOESN'T TAKE A MUCH PREFERRED TURN IN DIRECTING OUR CONFRONTATION TOWARD THE CESSATION OF THE SALE OF THESE PLANTS ,AS YOU HAVE SUGGESTED , TO MR. PUTIN. HOWEVER, I HAVEN'T AND I WILL NEVER TRUST MR. PUTIN CONCERNING HIS MOTIVES. MARK--PENNSYLVANIA ,USA
