yes, israel and america have a free press (which regularly criticizes its government's policy), and every arab country, especially syria and the palestinian anarchy, have a completely state-controlled media. discussion, such as this, is unthinkable in those countries, and you would be arrested (or worse) for this kind of open discussion anywhere in the arab world, because people who publicly speak out against the regime usually just "disappear".
