1. why "disengagement" was bad
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (12.18.05)
This tends to bear out the pragmatic arguments of the disengagement opponents, doesn't it? How can you just hand over a strip of land, adjacent to important parts (or any parts) of your country, to the world's worst terror organizations? How could the IDF have countered the security threat from the air, when, for instance, the United States cannot conquer countries without a ground invasion?
2. Israel is fighting this war to lose !
Marcel ,   Florida   (12.18.05)
What nonsense .Israel after fighting 5 wars being the victor in every one has tired of this and decided to become the loser. How ignoble of you Sharon, Mofaz and other Israeli who continue to folow a failed peace and surrrender Israel's sovereignty to foreign interlopers who crush Israel ,dividing her in pieces as a reward to the Islamic terrorists.

Michael Steiner ,   EU   (12.18.05)
Sure, Robert, there were no Qasams prior to haHitnatqut. Sell that nonsense to someone else.
4. Secure Borders
Joe Levy ,   USA   (12.18.05)
Israel should have kepted a buffer zone that included some of the settlements to keep Ashkelon and other zones away from the range of the rockets. When will Israel learn
5. Rocket attacks
gerschor ,   Raanana, Israel   (12.18.05)
The government says there is no need now for a ground operation in Gaza to stop the rocket attacks. As long as there are more open fields or abandoned buildings for the IDF to target, or until the power station at Ashkelon is hit, that is to say.
6. to #3
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (12.18.05)
Michael, I could answer that very easily, but I won't bother, because your use of a word like "nonsense" signals your inability to listen to people with different views, and your need to be abusive toward them.
7. Noble Marcel
S Jacob ,   Israel   (12.18.05)
How noble and brave of you, dear Marcel, to criticize Israeli leaders from the comforts of Florida. If you care so much, why don't you imigrate here and put your money where your mouth is - otherwise shut-up. By the way, where were you in '56, '67 and '73.
8. Fire missiles back?
Stevem Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (12.18.05)
Put listening devices out in the areas that they fire from. If you even get a whiff of movement, fire mortars or artillery at them. They are at war with you. Demand that the government give the settlements mortars and artillery. You should have the right to defend yourselves with all means possible. Waiting for the army to show up obviously isn't happening quickly enough to shoot back at the terrorists. Advocate for yourselves, demand to have long range weapons to protect your settlements. If the government won't protect you then build your own rockets to shoot back. Their rockets will get more accurate with time, you can count on that. Why be a goose when you could be the hunter? Geese die! Hunters survive in most circumstances.
9. ignoble s jacob
Marcel ,   Florida   (12.18.05)
What is so refreshing is that I don't answer to you or any other ignoble folk who tell me what I have to do in order to have a right to speak my mind .Sadly there is no freedom of sppech in Israel. I've run into alot of ignoble ones as yourself S. who have nothing to say about the situation except my location and how this does not permit me to speak. Are you a Communist ?. Knowing the Stalinist Dictator style government Israel is under I find it understandable why you would want me there .So I would not be free to speak the truth and so the Stalinist Left of Sharon and company could arrest me under their bogus catchall charge of incitement, as they arrest children for blocking roads and imprison them longer than they do the Islamic terrorists. I hope and pray to God that there will come a day when the corrupt criminal's are charged, arrested and imprisoned so that the slow suicide of Israel is stopped. Until then I will continue to speak the truth whether you like it or not. Tell Abu Steiner his Islamist propaganda is easy to uncover. He needs to find another job that he is more capable in doing.

I don't know about Marcel. I was in Israel in 73 risking my life as well as other times to help Israel and lost friends wounded and killed during the 73 war and lived in the area currently being blasted by the Qassams. Many of my friends are now being directly affected. Frankly As a Amerivcan Jew I have every right to support Israel. Israel is a state created for Jews not for Sabra's. It is my state just as much as yours. Marcel has his opinion and you do also but remember we are all Jews fighting for the same thing Israel.
