RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (12.18.05)
but the difference is that the Jews are truly extremists within their community, while the Palestinians are mainstream

those are the barberian terrorists of Israel .

4. For all the extremist jews
What have we come to   (12.18.05)
What a shame Jewish people are finding another jew's pain joyful. its not suppose to be like this. First learn to be human, and stop talking in the name of god. pain is pain, dont ever be glad on one's weakness.
5. They are
Michael Steiner ,   EU   (12.18.05)
two sides of the same coin. Absolutely no difference between Palestinian and Israeli extremists. They're both total scum. Gunk. This is precisely why we desperately need a man, a giant, of courage, stature, determination, probity and valiance like Dr. Sharon.
6. What goes around comes around
Marcel ,   Florida   (12.18.05)
Will Sharon become a changed man ? Will he now beging to put Israel ahead of foreign interests ? Will Sharon the arrogant dictator become Sahron the humble and wise who ends appeasing the Palestinian Terrorist Authority ? Will he finally begin his long ago promised harsh response towards the true infidels ? I hope and pray so ! God have mercy on him and all of us.
7. To Linda Rivera #3
Christopher ,   Boston, MASS USA   (12.18.05)
Dear Linda: You must understand: to the Arab mentality any illness by any person is a reason to celebrate. They revel in it. Just focus on the pictures of their children dancing on the cars of the terrorists blown up by the IAF; just remember how they danced in the streets on 9/11; just remember how they partied when Hariri was blown up; the list is endless, as endless as the barbarism inherent in their Quran. A sad creation and God's only known living mistake!
8. No Equivalence Here - Despite Ynet Trying To Make One
(12.18.05)
This report is meant to incite, and incite it will. Where is the comparison between the PA Arabs who rejoice at any Jewish death or suffering, and Jewish patriots who want a PM (who they see as serving their enemies) to retire to his farm?? Are you people insane creating such an obscene moral (immoral) equivalence?
9. What do you expect us to wish sabra and shatilla butcher?
Salameh ,   Gaza, Palestine   (12.18.05)
You people are either retarded or Palestinian-haters by birth. What do you expect us, the Palestinian people, who have seen this man's crimes days in and days out for the last 57 years from khan younis 1956 to Rafah 1967 to Gaza 1970s to Sabra and Shatilla 1982 to his last rounf of blood in the 2nd intifada, to wish? a speedy recovery? or go pray for his health? Real messed-up people. No, we wish he may join Jabotinsky, Golda, Dayan, Begin and the rest of those who dwelled, thrilled and famed on our skulls and blood where they all will be punished duely, Amen.
10. Shame on Ynet
sw ,   Raanana   (12.18.05)
Shame on Ynet to find the couple of crazies who cheer Sharon's stroke. I am against his policies and wish he's defeated but at the same time pray for his health. Why demonize the entire right wing

Michael Steiner ,   EU   (12.18.05)
I'm not a Palestinian-hater by any stretch of the imagination but you impress me as total idiots. It was Arik who ended the occupation. If Arik goes, mad Bibi comes. And that means if you fire another rocket at Israel, he'll send the Army to reoccupy Aza. Are you that effing dumb or what?? Or are you really so bored without us among you?
13. Refua Shleima
Ariel ,   Canberra, Australia   (12.19.05)
This is the time for Jews to unite and say a prayer for the Prime Minister's health. He is a fellow Jew and we are obliged to do this. As a wise man once said (in Yiddish): "Today everything is political. No one thinks about what the Torah says. Today, hatred is widespread and people don't think about their actions. We forgot about 'lo tirtzach' (do not murder) and a Jew kills another Jew". And to quote from Rav Kook: “There is no such thing as 'ahavat chinam' (groundless love). Why groundless? He is a Jew, and I am obligated to respect him. There is only 'sinat chinam' - hate without reason. But ahavat chinam? Never!”
14. Sharon's Mild Stroke

The sickest element of both societies celebrate. Only when all people realize they have no ownership of god or goodness can there be peace.

17. Response to Salameh in Gaza
Kate ,   London   (12.19.05)
Yet one more time you demonstrate exactly why you are living in such terrible poverty and why it's highly unlikely you'll ever get a state. Truly eyeless in Gaza. (The killings at Sabra and Shatilla were, by the way, carried out by Christians in revenge for the monstrous crimes perpetrated by your terrorist organisations against their people. But we couldn't expect you to respect the historical truth. After all, you don't respect anything else valued by the civilised world.)

Salameh ,   Gaza, Palestine   (12.19.05)
Ya habibi, first of all he didn't end up tghe occupation, the west bank and al-Quds are still occupied. Second, he has not giving me something out of his baba's pocket, Gaza (and the rest of the 1967 proper) is rightfully ours, so spare me. Third, he or any other politicians are the same to us, they are all occupiers, and be it Eldad, Eitam or Sharon, they will have to comply with the internaional laws, not personal wishes, to end the occupation. This "superior" "Barak-style" mentality of " we give you more than any other Israeli politician has given you" is not going to work. I could care less who leads Israel, there is somethign called international law they have to abide by. Fourth, when President Arafat, May Allah shower his soul with mercy, died, you guys on this forum, from Kahanists to Sarids, couldn't be any happier, not only that but you wer swearing your heads off, exposing your hatred for the Palestinian people. Lastly, it is called Ghazza not Aza :)
20. ya haram Salameh
Noam ,   Washington DC   (12.19.05)
For someone whose name means peaceful, shame on you for 1.Celebrating someone's illness 2.rationalizing your celebration the territory that Israel has recently relinquished is known by several different names. In Arabic, the letters 3ayn and 5ghayn (forgive me if the numbers are wrong) are very similar and both guttural. Several Hebrew words spelled with ayin translate into ghayn in Arabic ( Example: Ma'3arav=Maghreb). So liked Ghommarah is Amorah in Hebrew, Ghaza is Aza. We shall call it whatever we want, we don;t insist that Al-Quds be called Yerushalayim exclusively, Salameh. I'm sure many Jews werre privately very happy when Arafat died but they did not go to the streets to fire guns and dance. Many who were happy were probably so more because a chance for peace had arisen with an obstacle leader gone rather than great satisfaction in seeing the death of someone. At best, you can simply keep your hateful words to youself. Let others express speedy recoveries and just say NOTHING. How silly Allah must think a human is that wildly cheers for the death of another human being, from a stroke at that.

to my friend salameh, you say "they will have to comply with inernational laws." When Palestenians leaders cooly, calmy and "rationally" send young people to a pizza parlor or a shopping mall or during a Passover seder to kill as many women, children and civilians as possible, with maximum shrapnel damage if possible (and with promises of heavanly rewards), exactly what international or other law are you implementing?
22. Why not "Shooting Arabs" in Gaza pray?
Steve ,   USA   (12.19.05)
B"H Jewish relgion and extremism are disparingly equated in your title shown here: Quote: PM hospitalized – Israel, Gaza extremists rejoice Jewish extremists pray for Sharon’s death following prime minister’s arrival at hospital after suffering mild stroke; Palestinians in Gaza fire celebration shots upon hearing news Analysis: "Jewish extremists" show first in the subtitle. Not just extremists are characterized as Jewish, but also Jews characterized as extremists. The reason is that "Palestinians in Gaza" are not characterized by relgion, and they are positioned second in the title, diminishing the importance of religion for "Arabs in Gaza". Not only that, but the action of the Arabs is to shoot guns versus that characterized of the Jews is to pray for death. Is it that the Arabs are not praying also as well as shooting, that the Arabs in Gaza are somehow less extremist in using guns in their prayer session? Futher the statement in the subtitle "Jewish extrememists prayed for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's death" is not substantiated with a quote or action in the article, inciding against these people. "To rid them Sharon" is not a quote at all supporting Sharon's death, as ridding can be done in a few ways, such as voting against him in the upcoming elections, for example, which have nothing to do with death. However "fired celebration shots" is an Arab act of violence, and shooting is more directly tied with murder or death. Yet in the subtitle, the Arab use of tools of death versus the Jewish absense of them is not at all stated. In essence, the Jewish prayers are mistakenly characterized as prayers for death, and this characterization is not substantiated in the article. The Arabs, in contrast, are not characterized as praying at all in their shooting, and this is not balanced reporting. Titles and subtitles are the first impression of the reader. Creating an imbalance in the reporting at the top like this sets the entire article as well as Jews in bad light. Please be more considerate in your writing about Jews.

Since you are so well versed in international law, you do know that 242 and 338 both call for a negotiated settlement to this whole imbroglio which means you wont get everything you want and Israel wont get everything it wants. You demanding a complete pullback sans negotiations sounds like a contravention of international law to me. Is everyone in Gaza as smart as you? If so, it goes a long way in furthering everyones understanding of the Balestinian Beoble.
27. Historical Truth !!!!!
aziz ,   canton, USA   (12.19.05)
First of all Sharon will be just fine after all it's a mild stroke. Second as an elected leader_ regadless of his near or far passed_ if his plans and goals are to adjust the situation and bring peace then he should be respected by both sides of the conflict with the exception of morons. As for your funny historical truth, everyone can paint it with his/her own colors, spin it enough and whisper it to idiots first, so that will effectively help world's progress. have a good one.

"(The killings at Sabra and Shatilla were, by the way, carried out by Christians in revenge for the monstrous crimes perpetrated by your terrorist organisations)" NOT TRUE... Sharon had a both direct and indirect hand in the atrocities in Sabra and Shatilla.. Where do you get your information from? If Sharon gave orders and worked in harmony with those extremist christian killers it doesn't mean he wasn't responsible! And this intifiada alone has seen the deaths of about 4000 Palestinians (800 of those were children) let alone the hundreds of others killed by Sharon in other crimes... and this is why the celebratory gunshots were fired by the few.

How do you expect me to believe that you or any of your Arab brethren, are the rightful owners of Palestine, when your language can't even pronounce it. It's not Balestine, is it? Also, why do you admire that child molester Arafat, when your Arab brothers live in poverty and his wife lives in luxury? Where does all that aid money go?
