That's the 1 reason exactly why Switzerland has NOT joined the European Union ....... we want our freedom in Switzerland from the EU, since we got a constitution that has more values than the crap EU, and we the people are the Sovereign, not any government. That's what is called direct democracy. OK, we sit like an Island in the midst of the crazy EU, but we ain't one bit lonely ......... we ain't perfect, but at least we are not part of a Union that has no balls, and hates America. the EU wants to replace with the UN it's socialistic ideas.. . what the Soviets did not achieve. In fact the EU is by now Eurabia.
