31. Oh Salameh--keep passing around that rascist football!
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (12.28.05)
Without Europe---We wouldn't be able to have these wonderful rascist views of yours in the first place Salameh. I mean---didn't they kill and expel the Jews to Israel in the first place. So now they are your best buddy? They support your terrorist ways? Well----Fancy that! If you weren't such a mindless twit---you could of figured out---that you are being led by the nose to finish what Hitler started. Or was it your Grand Mufti in Jerusalem, who collaborated with the Nazi's, to build a concentration camp to kill the Jews in Palestine? So why wouldn't the Europeans agree with you? They trained you terrorists . Keep kicking and killing! That's what you do best. They are above the law. They get to murder all the infidel's.
32. Munich
Sean Eatherton ,   Santa Fe, U.S.   (12.28.05)
We can speculate all we want, but the simple truth is we will not know the Arab response to the film until they SEE the film, enough said.
33. Historical Revisionists will love it.
(12.28.05)
34. To The mother of #15
Salameh ,   Gaza, Palestine   (12.28.05)
I tend not to answer to most of the talkbacks on this forum because most are written by hateful Zionists who now only play the role of the anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab enemy, but rather come here spread their poisonous venom against our very existence, and slur us and our culture with the ugliest names which truly reflect their low upbringing and miserable education. However, if you were truly a mother of a murdered boy, I will answer you to honour his memory. Dear mother, first of all, I am sorry to learn that you little boy was killed, and I am saddened to hear a sweet little boy in murdered in this cycle vicious cycle for bloodshed just as much as I am saddened for the 1835 Palestinian children murdered at the hands of the Israeli occupation army and Jewish settlers. My respected mother, please do not ignore the facts, as sun cannot be avoided in the middle of the day. Zionists Lobbies control America, and you know it. Don’t talk to me in minority/majority mode, because that’s the whole idea, if the Jews make up 1% of the American population, why do they make up such high percentage in the congress and senate? Why is AIPAC and ZOA are as powerful as the state department if not stronger? Please do not insult my intelligence. Just look at the western media moguls and see what percentage do the Jews make up? From Michael Eisner at Disney, Lew Wasserman, Sid Scheinberg, and Tom Pollack at MCA-Universal, NY Times and all NY newspapers at the hands of Suzberger family and Peter Kalikow, and CBS William S. Paley who ran it for more than half a century, and the list goes on. I don’t need to list them all here, as you know it and we all do. My leaders don’t need to teach me who my occupier is, who is the one who deprive me from my freedom day in and day out. Your occupation is no myth, it is here, few minutes away from my room, and your settlers are everywhere around us, harassing us and calling for our transfer. We came to life knowing no home other than this land, but look around as Flasha, Yvgeneys and Jabotinskys not only content with their own share of the land, but calling for us to be expelled and dwelling on occupying us. It is your leaders who brainwash you, and tell you that we need to murder and oppress these people because they deserve it, it is who need to realize that you as a nation have no business in Nablus, Ramallah, and Jenin, and you just need to quit the occupied lands and live in peace with your neighbours. Dear mother, go to any Palestinian refugee camp and see the misery your occupation has created, go visit a checkpoint for a change and see the humiliation your soldiers are exposing our youth, children and woman to. From a youth who wishes neither you nor any Israeli (expect the settlers) any harm. We wish you luck and success and pray that peace will prevail in this land. The choice is yours.
35. 34 - occupation is not the crime of the century like you say
mike ,   usa   (12.28.05)
so why didn't arafat agree to end the occupation? why isn't abbas negotiating to end it? by all appearances it must not be that bad. at least not as bad as palestinian terrorism because occupation can end, settlements can be removed. islamic terrorism is much worse. you should stop complaining and try to do some good.
36. salameh, what do you expect?
Joan ,   usa   (12.28.05)
You don't want people to hate you, yet it is the jihad joy boy's (and girls) who do all murdering and maiming of innocents'. Who is responsible for the attacks in the U.S.,Spain, London,Bali,Egypt, Jordan,Russia? Don't try to tell me it's the Jews. Think about it, you want respect, well do something about it. Respect is something that's earned. Join the civilized world and get over YOUR hatred!
37. Its the occupation silly!
(12.29.05)
Or is it really? Maybe its because some people take responsibility for their actions and some dont Maybe its because some people believe that you have a right to defend yourself even if it means doing unpleasant things that most people do not have the stomach to do ; and others feel that Nicolo Machiaveli was right that the ends justify the means so they can use anything and do everything they want to achieve their goals no matter the consoquences Maybe, just maybe, we should recognize that we are ultimately all human beings We bleed just like you We breath just like you We watch our children cry when your kassam rockets land near our houses just like yours do Maybe its enough already Maybe we need to talk Maybe we both need to understand that its ok to agree to disagree without fighting all the time and resorting to the violence We can fight. So can you. Everyone knows this. But its a lot harder to talk Why? Because like my wife says ''it takes two to tango nahon?"
38. Bless you # 34 Salameh- well said !
Rebecca ,   USA   (12.29.05)
Bless you # 34 Salameh- well said ! Your writing is more honest than Ray's, more readable, more helpful too. It was kind of you to speak gently mother to mother
39. John from Germany
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (12.29.05)
I think that he is actually supporting Israel and referring to the Palestinians who are pissing on the silver plate.... In fact most Germans seem to support Israel and stand up[ against Iranian Holocaust deniers better than anyone else,. Kol ha Kavod l'hem!
40. Merry Christmas Mr Ramzi
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (12.29.05)
How are you my friend? I hope all is well. I don't honestly think that Ray is some kind of lost Palestinian at all. Also his posts are as chellenging for Jews to read as Arabs. Do you think that we like or appreciate the fact that he has married one of ours - I don't. Still that doesn't take anything away from what he writes which you might not like, but at least respect his opinions. Just because he is an Arab doesn't force him to automatically agree with the "soldiers of Palestine" lol... come on Ramzi you're smarter than this.
41. Are you a mother? Salameh?

"Heroic fedayin Munich operation"? You pig, I certainly hope that the authorities in Chicago have their eyes on you.
44. Rebecca
Jane   (12.29.05)
Well said?? Kind of him??? I doubt your name is Rebecca, unless you're like Spielberg, equating terrorist haters who kill innocent civilians with those very innocent civilians. And by the way, Rebecca, he has no compassion for the Jews.
45. @2, Salameh Gaza
Pieter ,   the Netherlands   (12.29.05)
“and the last European statistics show who is winning”. Which statistics are you talking about? Yes, statistics in Europe show that Arabs/Muslims are in some fields the cream of the crop. But believe me; the statistics where I am talking about do have noting in common with winning.
46. to #4
hilda ,   USA   (12.29.05)
Do you know for sure that Ray has a Jewish wife? The editors edited my talkback and took out that question..
47. to #12
Hilda ,   USA   (12.29.05)
Ray is NOT an Israeli . He is an American born in Chicago. As far as I know, working for YNews does not automatically make one an Israeli citizen.
48. Hey people :)
Ray Hanania ,   Chicago, IL USA   (12.29.05)
Hey people. Doesn't anyone read the column? Or, do people just scan for things they like or they hate? The column is not a review of Munich ... it addresses the failure of the Arabs to engage the media professionally. Now, some may use that to call me a "Jew-lover." Others may say I am anti-Semitic. Oh well. Too bad for you. I say, the Arabs do a LOUSY job of promoting themselves and they love to avoid accountability by blaming the Jews for EVERYTHING. And, anyone who says suicide bombing is a Holy Martyrdom Operation is a FANATIC EXTREMIST LOSER. Suicide bombers are MURDERERS. AND ... anyone who says that Israel doesn't violate the rights of Palestinians and isn't standing in the way of peace is also a FANATIC, EXTREMIST LOSER, too. There, I am being fair :) Hilda, my wife is Jewish and I am Christian. I am an American citizen and my relatives live in Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, Beit Jala and Nazareth. My family is originally from Jerusalem. Is there a problem? Robert Goldman ... why didn't you say you were from Cooper City, Florida. My favorite Town. To the "A Mother, Israel" ... I am saddened you lost a child. But please don't pretend you are the only one. Palestinians have also lost children, too. And we should be STANDING TOGETHER not SEPARATE to demand that both governments -- Israel and Palestine -- end the violence on both sides and work towards peace, not against it as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Netanyahu and the settlers are doing. To the Jabha Shabiyya Extremists in Chicago -- You are the losers! Your only answer is to be two-faced and quietly support the murder of innocent Israeli citizens, hoping to one day imjpose your loser Marxist political system. Hasn't anyone told you that Marxism is DEAD? So you have a little community center in a poor side of town. You host meetings NO ONE but your buddies attend. With leaders like you, no wonder the Palestinians have "won so much." To Ramzi -- I haven't changed. I am the same person I was and have always been. Violence is wrong, compromise is the only solution. Compromise means exactly that, compromise. I know the reality of Christian persecution by Israel and the Islamicists in Palestine, the Arab World and in the United States. You can pretend to be a Christian. But a true Christian will tell you that suicide bombing is the ultimate sin, worsened only when you murder innocent children, too. Suicide bombers CAN NEVER go to Heaven. Never, ever, schmever! To the rest: There is no choice but peace, compromise and acknowledgment on BOTH SIDES that we have BOTH done terrible things to each other. Those who deny their responsibility are accomplices with the terrorists and make terrorism happen. When we recognize that sad, tragic reality, we might be able to live together and maybe we can reduce the number of sons, daughters, parents and friends who are killed on both sides ... Love and peace to the silent majority and those who hate hypocrisy as much as I do :) Ray Hanania www.hanania.com PS ... I always answer my email ... even if you don't like me, I'll still send you a reply :)
49. What about 'Paradise Now' ?
Beate ,   Holon   (12.29.05)
Dear Ray Hanania What about 'Paradise Now' ? Did you see it? You should. I am not sure from where you write, but ialready many weeks it can be seen in the Tel-Aviv Cinemateque.

Killing unarmed athletes in games of peace is heroic?
51. RAy, you got it all wrong, AGAIN
Yonatan ,   Israel   (12.29.05)
The only thing you are being criticized for - at least what I am criticizing you for -is that you falsely claim that arabs don't have a lot of media power and do a louzy job with whatever they do have. And this is where you are wrong. Arab states have made countless of movies and shows that show their side of the story. Even hizballah's broadcasts were beaming into france a while ago, until the channel was disconnected for its racist content. The world does not watch arab media because it doesn't exist or because it is louzy, but because its content is racist. And that is the essential argument here, Ray. my two witnesses: www.memritv.org www.palestinianmediawatch.org
52. Ray speaks with many tongues
Lois D. ,   Baltimore, Md.   (12.30.05)
The trouble with you Ray is that you speak from different sides of your mouth. A few years ago when you gave a speech to LAW in E.Jerusalem, you were speaking about public relations. You said: In the United States, public relations is the companion of successful politics. The Israelis recognize this principle that the delivery of a message is more important than the message itself. Although the Israeli message is a fabrication and very often an exaggeration of facts and reality, its delivery using modern techniques of public relations ensure the acceptance of the Big Lies by the American people. These messages include: Israel is a Democracy Israel is a tiny state surrounded by a hostile Arab World Israel is defending itself Israel wants peace Jerusalem is a free and open city. Every one of these "facts," professionally packages using public relations and delivered so easily and successfully into the American consciousness is an outright lie or exaggeration. For example, we know that Jerusalem is NOT a free city. In fact, hundreds of thousands of Palestinian Christians and Muslims are denied entrance into the city simply because they hold Palestinian identity cards that are issued to them by the Israelis using systems similar to those used by the South African Apartheid Regime and even the NAZIs. END QUOTE It's five years later now and the Palestinians are in worse straits than they were then when you made that speech. The two systems you referred to above have not changed., Keep playing the game. I have no respect for you or anyone who would support that against any human being. Your wife has the right to be a citizen of Israel and go freely to the Holy Land because she's a Jew. Your parents who come from there have no rights because they are not Jews. And you support this b.s. Shame on you.
53. An example of Arab appreciation of "free speech"
Eric ,   Canada   (12.30.05)
Check out this link for an idea of the extremes that (generally speaking) Muslim Arabs go to in order to quash free speech: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4567940.stm. Quite sad, actually...
54. If you think that's sad.....
Lois D. ,   Baltimore,Md.   (12.30.05)
Why is it against the law to deny the Holocaust in certain democratic countries? People should have a right to dispute what they wish and not be prosecuted for it, and if I'm not mistaken, it is also considered a crime in Israel. In the Islamic faith, there are absolutely no pictures or images of the prophet Muhammad, never has been, which is entirely at odds with the Islamic faith.
55. Re: #54
Eric ,   Canada   (12.30.05)
1. I agree that Arabs are not the only ones who suppress free speech. 2. I would appreciate examples of democratic countries where the denial of the Holocaust is categorically prohibited at law; I am not aware of any such examples. However, I do recognize that when denial of the Holocaust is structured in such a way as to create and drive hate/violence then this is often (rightly) prohibited. Expecting democratic, secular governments (e.g. Denmark) to enforce religious doctrine is an entirely separate matter, and certainly not one that is reasonably within the jurisdiction of a secular government's law making authorities.
56. The problem is with you, Lois :)
Ray Hanania ,   Chicago, IL USA   (12.30.05)
Lois, the problem is you speak with one tongue: hatred. You hate Jews--They are wrong and you are right. I don't agree with that. I think both sides have problems and violate the rights of others. You call that speaking from both sides of my mouth -- you say that because like most extremists, you don't have the capacity to see the truth or to compromise or accept responsibility for your actions. You speak from one side of your mouth because it is easier to turn to the small choir of your supporters and to the emotionally drenched masses who suffer on both sides and play to their emotions. I won't do that. I will criticize both sides from the same mouth ... and that includes criticizing Israel (which you do to excess) and criticizing the Palestinians and Arabs, which you refrain from doing. Maybe you can explain this. Why is it wrong to have a Jewish State but not wrong to have an Islamic State? Oh, you will respond by saying it's not the concept of a Jewish state. You'll say they can go someplace else, but not Palestine. Well, the PNA has declared Palestine an "Islamic" state ... I oppose that ... what about you? I know I am wasting my time on you, but I figure others read these arguments and I don't mind exposing a fraud like you ... actually, let me go further, Lois. It is supporters like you, driven by blind hatred and anti-Semitism who undermine the righteousness of the Palestinian cause and turn it into a tragedy. Your ignorance, your hatred and your refusal to accept blame for anything is the very reason why Palestinians continue to fail in their quest for their own state. You're the bigger tragedy in this drama. Ray Hanania PS ... Beate ... "Paradise Now" is a great movie written for an Arab and Israeli audience that will not be seen by mainstream American or Western audiences ... if I had my choice of films, as most American do -- they have to pick one movie from a field of six, Paradise Now would not be one of those choices for most Americans. That's my point. And Yonatan. Good point in the context of the immediate media battle. What I am talking about is longterm media strategy. They don't have any. They appear to "win" or have influenbce based not on their strategy but as a result of Israeli actions. The media perceptions are driven by Israel and the measure of influence is not necessarily how one is portrayed "at the moment" but longterm ... My point is that the Arabs don't write to the mainstream, mainly because they are not used to thinking freely. They write to the "power audience" that controls them out of fear --either to suck up to the tyrants or to avoid topics and writing themes that end up getting them punished, jailed or worse. Your comments about "racism" would have weight except that you sound racist yourself ... people whod efend their causes blindly and oppose others blindly as you do, are in fact driven by racism, in my opinion. The Arab media is not racist. It "includes" racist content that is wrong and should be out. But it also includes some stark realities and facts that are not conveyed effectively ... Jerusalem IS NOT an open city. I know because Christians and Muslims are denied entrance to the city SIMPLY Because they are Christian and Muslim. The truth is tough. When we learn to recognize our own faults, only then can we criticize the other. You and others should accept your own faults first before casting stones :) Happy New Year to those who celebrate it. Happy Hanukkah to Jews. Merry Christmas to Orthodox Christians ...(Palestinians may live under Israeli occupation, but they refuse to surrender their humanity and continue to fight to live normal lives in one of the most abnormal situations in the world) Ray Hanania www.hanania.com
57. Salameh & Jewish mother of terror victim
Lee Marks ,   London   (12.30.05)
Salameh, You are the epitomy of the forked tongued enemy who are called palestinians. The whole world is aware of the truth of who you are and what you represent. Nuff said
58. You are right Ray
(12.30.05)
I agree with what you say mostly Yes the Palestinians are in a terrible situation. But its not exactly paradise for us either Its right what you say: BOTH sides have done some bad things. BOTH sides need to take responsibility for their actions But I dont see any responsibility on the Palestinian side at the moment - its always our fault, no matter what happen And I dont see Palestinians denouncing violence en masse. Most of them support it - just look at how many of them go to the Hamas and IJ rallies in Gaza city and Nablus and Jenin I always disagree with my wife but does that mean we resort to the violence all the time? No of course not, dont be silly! We sort it out, we compromise, we give and take. There needs to be reciprocity. This how negotiation works. So if we say ok, we get out of gaza and give you some space to live, and we will get out of some westbank areas too But now before we do more, Palestinians need to show us that they dont want to kill us anymore. We will give you back your airspace and sea space and help your economy. But it does take two to tango yes? So now this is where the reciprocity comes in - we only require one big thing from you really as a start - disarm the terror groups. So it may involve a bloody process for you We understand this. But nobody said it would be easy to do. You know how sick it makes me feel to see Hamas for elections? I had friends who died in Hamas bombs. It really makes me sick to see this. You have to do this. If you dont we will do it for you
59. Question for Salameh
misha ,   san diego   (12.30.05)
Salameh, it is true that your people have lost land, and have gone through a calamity because of the foundation of Israel. With that said, I want to tell you that 90% of Israelis would vote to pull out IDF out of west bank if your side could guranatee peace and quiet. The problem, the core of the problem, is not the occupation (which can end tomorrow), it is the very fact that your people deny the Israelis their rights to existence. Your children are being fed hate in their own schools, breeding a new generation of killers and 'shaheeds'. If your side sits down, orders all attacks and bombings to stop, commits to a peace and economic plan, Israel can pull out within a week. Your side however, insists on pushing the Jews into the sea, and puts out disgusting claims that the Holocaust never happened, or that the Jews are pigs, etc. These are not words of peace. You want freedom? You want your own state? change your actions and change your words when talking to the Jews. No one in their right mind would compromise their own existence and security to people like Hamas or Islamic jihad.
60. A reply to Ray
Yonatan ,   Israel   (12.31.05)
I agree that arab media "includes" racist content, rather than being racist as whole. I didn't bother in wording it like that because what I wrote communicates the same thing , at least to me. As far as access to the city of Jerusalem, I don't know how it is relevant to what we are discussing, unless it more of response meant for Lois. Anyhow, I will contribute to it and say that I think you are wrong on that one too. Maybe the city is not open as you would like it to be, but it is in fact open. Are you going to tell me that you are not allowed to worship freely or walk around? Look at theTemple Mount. It is holiest place to Judaism, but Israel for some reason decided to put it under Islamic control and bar its own Jewish citizens from stepping foot there. And how are the muslims thanking us for this good will gesture? By throwing rocks over the wall at Jewish worshippers. Here is what a muslim author observed when she visited Jerusalem: “I also respect the fact that Israel allows for a multifaith climate in which every Friday a thousand Muslims pray openly on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. When I saw that, I had to ask myself, where in the Islamic world can 1,000 Jews get together and pray in full public view?” — Muslim author Irshad Manji Feel free to list what exact complaints you have about access to Jerusalem. Better yet, write an article about it. It would be an interesting read. As far as labeling me as a racist because of what I wrote, I will let the rest be the judge of that. I think their judgment would be more objective. I don't know ray.
