I wonder if the Sor-Trondelag government would consider other boycotts--such as, Sudan (genocide in Darfur), Saudi Arabia (no religious freedom, democracy, women's rights), Morocco (separation wall and settlers in occupied Western Sahara), China (occupation and oppresion of Tibet), Uzbekistan, Iran, and Syria, among many other examples of rotten oppressive and repressive governments. So who is tolerant and who is not? No doubt there is ugly racism and discrimination in Israel as in many or most countries but on Israeli streets you see citizens going about their business unmolested ranging from black African to as blonde as Norwegians. Israel gave refuge to Vietnamese boat people? How many did Libya or any Arab nation accept? Regretably, Israeli Arabs do suffer discrimination. But they also vote in free and fair elections, sit in the Knesset (Parliament) and freely express their views, have the freest Arabic language press in the Middle East, and have full freedom of religion. Many Norwegians may have participated in the holocaust, they may even be anti-semitic now, but there is no evidence here pointing to the fact that their boycott is based off of prejudice, or that it's linked to Hitler. I do however consider Palestinian militias to have the right to fight Israeli armed forces. As for indiscriminate killing of civilians - I think a cursory glance at (even Israeli) headlines suggest both parties to the conflict are engaged in inflicting atrocities upon the civilian population of the area. I live in Norway myself and ofcourse most of what you guys write is crap. We are not nazis just because we dont like the killing og arabs, just like we are against the killing of jews. After seeing the kind of attitudes against my new countrymen displayed here and unfortunately by the Wiesenthal Center, all I can say is that I will now drop all my support activity for Israel. I used to actively support Israel, but apparently they hate everyone else, and so I sadly withdraw from any further support of the Israeli cause.
