1. is this the way?
Beate ,   Holon   (01.15.06)
to deserve peace, even in a name, one should start not being jealous
2. tibi+ dumber then dim
me ,   here   (01.15.06)
"degrade the arabs"? is he serious/ they are degraded already. how much lower can they go?
3. So call it Doha Peace Stadium
someone ,   somewhere   (01.15.06)
If all sides act in good faith, and do not blind themselves with paranoia and unnecessary conflict, it is generally possible to find some middle ground. The Qatari donation was intended to be a uniting factor and a gesture of peace and friendship. Trust Tibi to turn it into a divisive issue and a source of anger.
4. Is Israel a sovereign nation or not?
A. de Metz ,   Haifa   (01.15.06)
Donations should not have been accepted from a nation which does not recognize Israeli sovereignty. Arab citizens (including MKs) should not be allowed to openly act as though they are separate and apart from Israeli authority.
5. Open (Israeli) Arab hostility
Avital ,   Los Angeles   (01.15.06)
The Arab citizens of Israel never lose an opportunity to exhibit hostility to the State of Israel, its institutions and its Jewish citizens. Why is this accepted?
6. What's the big deal?
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (01.15.06)
I've seen lots of departments, buildings, etec. at universities and hospitals named after the towns where the donations came from. I've driven down a New York Street somewhere, in Lod, I think it was, and passed by a town named for Los Angles, albeit in Hebrew translation.

8. Stadium Name
Shimon ,   Kfar Saba   (01.15.06)
The "Doha Peace Stadium" has a nice sound to it, and should satisfy all parties.
9. To #5
1948 arab   (01.15.06)
Because they are simply not hypocrates. They are saying what is in their hearts. After all, they are the natives of the Land and you are forgin to it.
10. why not doha? that's not the problem!
Gary ,   Montreal, Canada   (01.15.06)
I agree with Dorothy above, what's the big deal? Qatar paid, they want to call it Doha Stadium, why should others object? I am mystified by the fuss. The true problem is the racist Arab world. It tries to deny Jewish history and kick off out of our own land and back to diaspora, as so many invaders have done before. #9 is the proof. Let's pay attention to those racist Arabs, not the ones building soccer stadiums! Surely a new stadium or two is a good thing, and why not name it after the people who paid?
11. Call it "Doha peace stadium"
(01.15.06)
12. I don't know... i'm against this name
Yakir   (01.15.06)
For me, it's like they're turning a small piece of israeli land into arabic...

Jane   (01.15.06)
We were there long before you were even a people and will be there forever. 1948 arab is probably as close to the truth as you will ever get.
14. Tibi Says it all
Christopher ,   Boston, MASS USA   (01.15.06)
Tibi was very direct when he said "no to peace." That is the general concensus amongst all Arabs - that peace is an "illness" they wish not to endure. Time for Israel to make the exchange, and move the "Israeli" Arabs to a Palestinian State and take the settlement areas in exchange. I'm sure Tibi will prefer that.
