2. Millions of Dollars

Israel had millions of dollars to squander on evicting ten thousand people last summer from their residences but can not seem to feed the homeless and furnish the homeless with clean clothers.

4. smelly socks
Miriam ,   Netivot   (01.16.06)
Maybe the homeless person didn' t have any other socks? When you do a mitzvah, you keep your mouth closed. It is a very big sin to embarrass someone.Shame on the manager!

#3 - Wouldn't be surprised if that shul is called "Kol Yisrael Chaverim..." (All Israel are Friends) There was a shul with such a name that protested the opening of a reform shul in the same neighborhood. #4 Was going to write that myself, you beat me to the punch!

Some of us like a little variety in our news. You don't have to finish the article, or even start it if the headline doesn't match your interests.
8. Discretion
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (01.16.06)
The manager should have shown more discretion in what he said. People who come to these places are not only hungry but also might not have a change of clothes. The manger could have discretely offered him a pair of socks as well (I'm sure a pair could have been found somewhere for this man)). As to the man himself, he is also - apparently - unstable. And was also very hurt at being 'insulted' like that. Perhaps he had been 'someone' in his former home (Russia?). Or perhaps not. But, nevertheless, the manager should have treated him with more dignity than he did.
