1. Actually kind of interesting
Bill Pearlman ,   Chicago, USA   (01.16.06)
This has to be the only instance in the history of the world where a member of a countries parliament is committed to the absolute dissolution and destruction of that respective country. No other people than Jews would put up with this. It really is quite amazing.
2. Give him his full deserves...

Steve ,   USA   (01.16.06)
B"H "Full citizenship in a state for all its nationalities, states Knesset member Ahmad Tibi's new party slogan." Great. Let us start by allowing Jews in Gaza ... not possible because of religion? OK. That shows the blatent hypocracy in this campaign slogan. What the Arabs really mean is a State free of Jewish influence, because that IS what their religion of hate tolerates: a nation of all nations as slaves except the Jewish one which is eliminated. Lets not lie anymore, because I can see right through it. Either Jews keep the grip on power, or else they are slated to go into exile or the mediteranian. Plain and simple.
4. If you are Palestinian....
Ariel ,   Canberra, Australia   (01.16.06)
....the you should immediately move to Gaza or Ramallah and help your brothers BUILD a country (like Jews have done in Israel for centuries) instead of trying to DESTROY an existing country where you don't feel wanted. This is the beauty of human choice: If you don't like where you are, you can leave..... If you cannot handle living as a minority, then move next door where you will be in the majority.... If you want to live in democracy, but you cannot handle it being a Jewish democracy, then move to Turkey or Indonesia where you can be part of a Muslim democracy. There are many solutions for your problems Mr Tibi - but destruction of a thriving country is not one of them!
5. According to Israeli Left Tibi's OK Pat is the enemy.
AK   (01.16.06)
I'm waiting for the expressions of outrage over this statement.
6. Israel should be 100% Jewish, arabs in arab countries.

7. tibi, pack your stuff, you'll be transfered on monday.

8. Arab minority?
Stephen, S ,   Toronto, US   (01.16.06)
This is the first time I hear an Arab talking about equality in the jewish state. The jewish nature of the state is only true if the majority is jewish. Thus the reason of the Sharon's disengagement. But Mr. Tibi made a point. Israel can't be a jewish state since it has a minority. This only if Israel is legitimate state which is not. State of Israel is founded on lies and religious basis. It was founded by terror means and ethnic cleansing. The Arabs who remains in Israel, though minority, is a clear proof that Israel never existed. Interesting enough is the fact that natives of the land, Arab Israelis and the Palestinian refugees, were standing up for more than 50 years united against fascist Israel. Israel will cease to exist sooner than later.
9. If he wants to be a

Palestinian so badly then I welcome him to move to Palestine when it is created. Until that time he should be quiet.
10. ARAB MUSLIM ISRAELI MOBS SHOUTED: "DEATH TO THE JEWS"
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (01.16.06)
The minimum requirement for citizens of any country, especially anyone who works in government must be loyalty to their country. The fact that Arab Muslim Israelis who are openly genocidal to Jews and support the violent overthrow of Israel are Israeli government Knesset members is alarming. A country that plans on surviving cannot allow such treason. Below is part of an article on the very violent 2000 Arab Muslim Israeli riots from 'Let's investigate everything' by Yaron London, 10/2/05 http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3150205,00.html The report offers a history of Arab demonstrations and protests that over time have become evermore extreme. The report also mentions several individuals that contributed, through words and through silence, to the progression from legitimate protest into a violent, destructive riot. Leaders of the Islamic Movement, wrote the Or Commission, fanned the flames by accusing Israel of planning to destroy the Islamic holy sites on the Temple Mount, and openly sympathizing with Hizbullah and al-Qaeda. MK Azmi Bishara (National Democratic Assembly) has said the Shiite militia should be a role model for the struggle with Israel, and has called several times for an intifada against Israel. Arab-Israeli leaders should be investigated The Or Commission- including one Arab justice and another member considered an important expert in Arab culture - rejected Bishara's evasive comments, and had this to say about the part Israeli Arab leaders played in the October, 2000 riots: Individuals such as the leaders of the Supreme Israeli Arab Monitoring Committee, the Islamic Movement, and Knesset Members Tibi, Bishara, Dehamshe and Zahalka were full partners to the outbreak of riots in October, 2000, and therefore also bear responsibility for the deaths of 13 of their brethren." The following is part of an article from jerusalempost.com, Sept. 25 2005 'Column One: Israel's disengaged establishment' by Caroline Glick: "...recall what happened five years ago. Following months of increased violence and extremism in the Arab-Israeli sector incited directly by the Palestinian Authority, the Israeli Islamic Movement and the Arab members of Knesset, violent riots seized the Arab sector of Israel in October 2000. During the week of riots, Arab Israelis threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli civilian cars throughout the country. Israeli motorists were dragged out of their cars on Highway 65 along Wadi Ara and beaten. An Israeli motorist was murdered when Arabs from Jasser a-Zarka threw a rock at his windshield as he drove down the coastal highway..."
11. #1 - oh how tolerant
Khalid ,   Halifax   (01.16.06)
you're not "putting up", as you said, with anything. this dude is just talking and obviously his words aren't going to be taken seriously. And he's not calling for the "destruction and dissolution", as you said, of Israel. This is not amazing, shouldn't even be looked at twice.
12. Israel belongs to the Jews!
Daisy ,   USA   (01.16.06)
This Arab can go back to Arabia where he belongs!
13. Fifth column
Irgun fighter ,   Canada   (01.16.06)
If the Irgun was still around, they would know how to deal with these Arab Jew-haters.
14. Israeli Arabs are Palestinians
mark ,   usa   (01.16.06)
they need to get out of Israel when they get a state they must all be kicked out of Israel Expulsion orders for Israeli Arabs. Once they have a state , they become occupiers if they are still in Israel Their homes and villages must be destroyed just like Gush Katif. All mosques must be destroyed as well. The Arabs must disengage themselves from Israel. That is fair.
15. Israeli double standards
Uri   (01.16.06)
I don't think Israeli leaders understand that there is a difference between Freedom of speech and treason? Should Arab MKs be able to do anything they like - no matter how treacherous those actions may be - and get away with it simply because they are Muslims? Whereas little Jewish children who peacefully protest being expelled from their homes, schools, and communities are arrested and treated as if they were violent criminals. What a strange morality!
16. What's in a name?
Chrisona ,   Chicago.IL   (01.16.06)
And if it's not a Jewish state, why would it be called Israel? And why would the flag have a Magen David on it?
17. Another Islamofascist...
Dan ,   USA   (01.16.06)
intent on killing Jews. This one is different, however, because he enjoys the official sanction and protection of the Jewish (yes Jewish) state. I am baffled as to why. Here in the USA, he would be in jail by now.

19. The Holy Land was never Jewish, and never it will be.
Historian   (01.16.06)
Populations from Arabia were living in this land even before Abraham arrives to it. These are called "Arab Arebah". These are not necessarily the sons of Ishmael. Ishmael himself lived in the Arabian Peninsula and mingled with the Arabian there. From his descendents is Prophet Muhammad who is "Arab mustarebah". The Mustarebah Arabs arrived after several Arabian immigrations that have reached the east Mediterranean long before Ishmael and Abraham. From these are Cannanites/Phoneicans, Amorites, and others. Until comparatively recent times knowledge of the Arabian Peninsula was limited to that provided by ancient Greek and Roman writers and by early Arab geographers; much of this material was unreliable. In the 20th century, however, archaeological exploration has added considerably to the knowledge of the area. The earliest known events in Arabian history are migrations from the peninsula into neighbouring areas. About 3500 bc, Semitic-speaking peoples of Arabian origin migrated into the valley of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Mesopotamia, supplanted the Sumerians, and became the Assyro-Babylonians (see Sumer). Another group of Semites left Arabia about 2500 bc and settled along the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea; some of these migrants became the Amorites and Canaanites of later times. http://uk.encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761556449/Arabian_Peninsula.html
20. i have a better idea, tibi
someone ,   canada   (01.16.06)
the "palestinian minority" in israel, including you, pack their bags and go live in gaza. or better yet try jordan or egypt, your historical homeland, that is if they'll even accept you.
21. Arabs should be separated from Jews
Roger ,   USA   (01.16.06)
Israel is fostering enemies. The only way is separation.
22. Let Russia stop being Russian first
Ann ,   USA   (01.16.06)
Would anyone suggest that Poland should not be Polish, Hungary Hungarian, Italy Italian or Slovakia Slovakian? The degree of Arab hatred toward the Jews is colossal. For Israel to survive as a Jewish land there must be division, fences, non-mixing with the Arabs, etc. Let the Arabs create their own democracies with their own first-rate universities and medical centers instead of using the Jews for advancement or superb medical care. The Arabs have 22 Arab states. Israel represents only 0.1% of the Middle Eastern landmass while the Arabs occupy 99.9% of it. Unlike the Jews the Arabs have many choices to pick from. The problem is they will continue leeching off the Jews rather than separating from them and the stupid Jews will continue tolerating the infectious viruses like an Arab MK Tibi.
23. This Traitor Was Arafat's Top Aid
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (01.16.06)
He should be in jail.
24. Oh boy
Michael Steiner ,   EU   (01.16.06)
First of all, Israel is not a Jewish state (i.e. a theocrac) but a state/the homeland of Jews, with equal right for all its citizens, at least in theory. The enfranchisement of Israel's Arab citizens has to continue till everyone is Israel truly DOES have equal right and opportunities: Arabs, Ethiopian Jews and Russian olim, too. Happy and contented people do not wish to destroy the apparatus that provided them their happiness and fulfilment. As Israeli Arabs continue to prosper, the trend of their voting for mainstream Israeli factions (as opposed to these crazy Arab fringe) will also continue and Tibi will be out of work before long.
25. #11 - Another case of the Arab Double Standard
R ,   Israel   (01.16.06)
When an Arab says something - it's "just talking". When anybody else says something - it has to be taken literally.
26. to 19, Historian
Rachel ,   ISrael   (01.16.06)
But the Canaanites and Phoenicians aren't here now are they? The Palestinians are much more recent Arab immigrants to the area who came in much larger numbers when Jews started working the land, and have multiplied exponentially since then.. And DNA evidence shows that an overwhelming majority of Jews originally came from the Middle East. Even where external appearances look more European, genetically we originated from the Middle East. And to others: Britain has many cultures and religions living within it. It still remains a Christian country. No-one complains apart from a few extremists who want to see Londonistan. Same with France: still a Catholic country. The issues are more intense in Israel, but the fact remains, it was created by the UN to be a Jewish state. The Arab state that was carved out of the British mandate area is called Jordan. The situation is like this now because Britain was telling lies out of both sides of its mouth to Arabs and Jews. Like they did in India - and the partition between India and Pakistan was hardly a success either...

29. To #26:
Ramallah   (01.16.06)
Please some one tell me. How do you define recent? How much time is that. A 100 year, or two thousands of years, or five thousands. I do not know why Jews are working hard to discredit the Palestinians from their land. The palestinian foloklore and culture is the native to this land. Our grand fathers are the natives of this land. Just as pharoas do not exist. But egyptians are their descedents. And as vikings not anymore, we have the brits! Why should Jews who have been since long time, at least 2000 year, away from the middle east? why should they be more pure and have more claim to those who never left the middle east and were there for all the time before, with, and after Judaism? IF this shows anything, this just shows the racism you people have in your minds and hearts. you are the lords and the whole world is your servant. Is not that is what your God is proclaiming for you?
30. Dear Mr Tibi
Hiram ,   Tel Aviv   (01.16.06)
Israel should not be a Jewish state you say ? Then what should it be ? Religion set aside ( we all know that Islam is of course the "yougest" of the three religions ) I invite you , with all due respect , to read the Bible and concentrate on the old testament, the story of the the Kings of Israel, the historical documented facts about the Temple and the duplicated destruction by the "conquerors".I also invite you to re-read your own history. Last but not the least, I remind you that without the Jews, this land which you calim " should not be Jewish" would be today in the same kind of state as the reste of the countries submitted to Islamic dictatorship by people with whom you seem to side so easily. There is my mind no doubt that Israel is not the perfect country and that indeed should peace prevail, some adjustment should be made. I also remind you that someho are are " cousins" short of being brothers....But no change will ever take place unless historical facts are accepted, terror organisations are shut down, chaos is eradicated and a strong and intelligent leader is democratically elected in Palestine. The very fact that you enjoy your MK status is already a sign that you live in a very unique environment in the Middle East. I also suggest that short of decredibilizing yourself, you do not go too far in the negation of historical realities, like some others do.BY doing so , you will certainly contribute to the tarnishing of your "intellectual honesty", and asset which is in very short supply in the area and especially in Palestine.
