1. phase one of roadmap
MARK ,   USA   (01.23.06)
call for an immediate and unconditional cease-fire to end armed activity and all acts of violence against Israelis anywhere Why is Bush going to phase 2 when phase 1 has clearly failed? Mr. Bush: Kassam rockets are a violation. Hamas has a huge weapon supply. That will bring war not peace. Your plan is to weaken Israel and empower terrorists while you are fighting terror. That makes sense. Good logic.
2. P.M. Olmert moves to deal with the threat
Marcel ,   Florida   (01.23.06)
The P.M. has determined to finally act . He has directed IDF and Border Police to attack the unarmed settlers in Hevron and to crush all opposition ,with zero tolerance . Meanwhile in Gaza the terrorist grow stronger and bolder as Olmert hides under his desk waiting for a phone call from President Bush for permsssion to go to the bathroom.
3. Road Map Plan 1
mark ,   usa   (01.24.06)
Let Israel get attacked by kassams. This will force them to give up land. Destroy the towns by Kassams. Israel has to be weakened according to the real road map. There must be a behind the scenes roadmap. Phase 1 Kassam rockets on Pre 67 Israel. They have a Red Dawn alert system so there is no reason to stop firing kassams . Look at the world response. Silence.
4. "palistinians" love "peace now" for new Gaza launching pads.

5. Exposing Israel's incompetent Criminals
Marcel ,   Florida   (01.24.06)
In the aftermath of Sharon's unilateral disengagement, every single accord - from the Middle East road map to the pre-withdrawal security and diplomatic accords the United States and Europe brokered between Israel, the Palestinians and Egypt - has unraveled. The resulting security vacuum and diplomatic blind alley were graphically described by Gen. Yaalon. Yet officials in Jerusalem persist in their flights of fancy. They echo the ludicrous demand for Abu Mazen, who has lost control of his own Fatah, to disarm the puissant Hamas, and insist that Hamas must change its spots or else the world will ostracize the Palestinians government. What world? What about the Saudis, the Russians, the North Africans, the Malaysians, and the Indonesians, to mention a few. And even supposing the US and Europe freeze donations to a Hamas-dominated Palestinian Authority, as elder statesman Shimon Peres seems to believe, the Muslim world can easily afford to make up the difference from its abundant petrodollars. The only positive outcome perceived by DEBKAfile's counter-terror and radical Muslim experts from Hamas gaining a share in Palestinian government is a temporary one: The group may opt to continue for a while the partial ceasefire of the past six months. This does not mean the organization is changing its ways or disarming, any more than Lebanon's Hizballah, only that it will welcome a breather to promote its long-term goals. The Islamist radicals will need time to consolidate their grip on power and build a powerful military force. The price Israel will pay for this truce will be high. It is Hamas's unopposed takeover of the Palestinian Authority's security apparatus and its buildup with the help of Iran, Syria and the Hizballah, into an organized military force able to confront the Israeli army. By failing to stop the Hamas in time, the Israeli government is now condemned to being dragged willy-nilly into playing ball with the long-term strategic goals of a radical Islamic group committed to wiping out the Jewish state. It is hard to see how the Olmert team can do anything tangible to arrest the slide at this late date.

7. Is Ohmert's ghost giving orders?
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.24.06)
Or did he have to finally sit down in Sharon's chair, because the phone calls from Bush, made him strain to reach across and answer the phone calls? Somebody send him a puching bag, with a picture of a kid from Hevron on it. He can take out some aggression, punching out his Jewish enemies.
8. Yeah, give the Arabs more land
Roger ,   USA   (01.24.06)
Give the Arabs claiming to be Palestinian more land to shoot missiles at Israel and kill the innocent civilians. The Jewish idealists think that if they give the Palestinian Arabs more land the enemy will be satisfied. When will the idealistic, tolerant Jews learn that a serial murderer must be destroyed or incarcerated. You cannot pacify a terrorist.
9. The Arabs now have more land
Mel ,   USA   (01.24.06)
..to shoot at Israel. These are the benefits of disengagement from Gaza.
10. still at war
Khorasuni ,   USA   (01.24.06)
looks like a war is going on an only one side is doing all the fighting, as long as no price is to pay the rockets will be coming; to stop the 20 pound rocket send them back a 2000 pounder.
11. Rockets, Kassams and mortar rounds
Joe ,   Israel   (01.24.06)
Has anyone else noticed that when the rockets fall, only Sderot and Ashkalon are mentioned as targets, the names of other yishuvim are scarcely mentioned.
12. Israeli terror attack killed one boy near Ram'Allah !!

Yossi ,   Canada   (01.24.06)
You read an article wanton with unrestrained, unprovoked warfare, and all you chose to see was Israel's timid respose and that was still too much eh. I am sure we all know what you would like to see and you couldn't care less about one arab. The day will come when Israel will finally adopt arab rules to warfare. When the arabs fire on our civilians, then we will fire on thiers. The quassams will stop, we all know that. It's just q matter of time until we play by one set of rules!
14. To David of France: Stop blaming Israel
MARK ,   USA   (01.24.06)
Your country is always complaining about Israel and is so concerned about Arabs. Why doesn't France engage in the peace process? Bring in French peace keepers to maintain peace. I blame your country for this mess. You are part of the quartet and your country is doing nothing. Shame on France. If France wants peace in the region it needs to do its part. They are not doing anything and need to help bring peace. Stop blaming Israel. I blame France!!!!!!!!
