Did anyone see this Israeli movie? It covers the many of the same issues. The plot revolves around a Mossad assasin who begins to question why he is still killing people. There is even a scene with a Palestinian who delivers an impassioned speech about how they feel about Israeli "oppression". And yet there were no major protests about this movie. Israel was created on lands that people had been living in for generations, these people were all of a sudden displaced, many killed and in an instant their lives ended. How do you expect them to behave? Switch shoes for a second and see how feel. When you had something then suddenly you have nothing at all with no one to give you hope or a sense of direction. as mentioned before Sword of Gideon was the previous movie on munich, I have a copy in my collection, but Michael York was not in that movie. It is always difficult to follow the thought patterns f someone who doesn't get it. Goldman's response to my posting is an example of someone who is so concrete in his thinking that he doesn't get it. 1. "Munich" is based on a discredited book called Vengeance by an author who falsified his credentials. The only factual event that it describes is the Palestinian murders of the Israeli athletes. Once again, Spielberg had no idea how the Mossad agents reacted because he did not attempt to find out. He and Kushner described their own feelings, and that my friend Goldman, is not "basing" the movie on the truth. It is simply fiction.2. I hope that the author of “hunt down terrorists” realizes that the indigenous people of Palestine are indeed the Jews and not the Palestinian Arabs. Moreover, the movie and the author of this comment also conveniently forget that the Palestinian Arabs could have had their land (the very same one they are fighting for in real life as well as in the movie) in 1947 (Resolution UN 181). They refused and decided that the only course of action was to destroy all the Jews. Needless to say, the Jews accepted the deal offered to them by this resolution.
