Linda Linda Linda...what's your problem? Let me guess, as immigrant or descendant of immigrant in the US you need to prove yourself more patriotic and radical than the average US citizens? When you yalk about homelands and shit like that think about your origins, and well, get informed about the origins of the your so beloved country called US (don't think any white was there before 1492, right?). Well, this fanatic american christians just don't want Jerusalem and holly land to fall into muslim hands...and once they get rid of islam (well, stupid ambition) they'll pretend to evangelize jews and impose them the belief in Jesus. I hope one day we all can get rid of those pseudo-religious leaders in this world, hateful imams and ayatollahs, people like Eitam and this f....ed up hilltop youth, the pope and people like Linda, who instead of trying to be nice like her name says, makes all possible to spread hate and bad thoughts. Linda, the religion you so greatly defend just screwed up all south america and latin countries...right the place where you come from. שלום לישראל

I agree with police brutality...but those settlers didn't raise their voice if palestinians (not all of the are terrorist as not all israelis are like the settlers, thanks god) were treated the same way...those settlers have even been walking around with weapons hunting for them just as if they were from Jewish Yihad...you collect what you harvest, and you harvested hate for too long. I am against police brutality against anyone...but if the only excuse you have not to be arrested is that you're jewish, sorry for you, but being jewish doesn't put you above the law, a law accepted by 90% of israelis...control the hooligans of the west bank, and recognize the law and existance of Isareal, not the Big Israel you dream of...cos after all, you behave the same way Hamas does...and like Hamas, if you don't agree with the law, suffer the consequences of choosing violence instead. Settlers cannot have 5.000.000 prisoners of their delirating dreams, and you've been having israelis as hostages for too long. Israel wants peace, now! Israel has problems enough now to be dealing with idiots like the ultra-orthodox.....

It looks like some talkback commentators are very violent and just enjoy the brutality of the police forces. Maybe they should join the mafia...
36. #32 Gormis, that's what your fellow Balceronian said
AK   (02.01.06)
Sebastian Villar Rodriguez. ( September 20, 2005 ) " Europe died in Auschwitz " I was walking along Raval (Barcelona) when all of a sudden I understood that Europe died with Auschwitz. We assassinated 6 million Jews in order to end up bringing in 20 million Muslims! We burnt in Auschwitz the culture, intelligence and power to create. We burnt the people of the world, the one who is proclaimed the chosen people of God. Because it is the people who gave to humanity the symbolic figures who were capable of changing history (Christ, Marx, Einstein, Freud...) and who is the origin of progress and wellbeing. We must admit that Europe, by relaxing its borders and giving in under the pretext of tolerance to the values of a fallacious cultural relativism, opened it's doors to 20 million Muslims, often illiterates and fanatics that we could meet, at best, in places such as Raval, the poorest of the nations and of the ghettos, and who are preparing the worst, such as the 9/11 and the Madrid bombing and who are lodged in apartment blocs provided by the social welfare. We also have exchanged culture with fanaticism, the capacity to create with the will to destroy, the wisdom with the superstition. We have exchanged the transcendental instinct of the Jews, who even under the worst possible conditions have always looked for a better peaceful world, for the suicide bomber. We have exchanged the pride of life for the fanatic obsession of death. Our death and that of our children. What a grave mistake that we made!!!
37. We deal with our crazies. So maybe the arabs...
(02.01.06)
....should learn from this and deal with their crazies too instead of electing them to parliament - oh but wait thats too hard for them. Anyway, the arabs always can say: its the occupation silly, to avoid doing anything at all and just sit around like lazy

After all the settlements are removed than what? That is it? So what else do you stand for? what's the purpose of your state?what about democracy freedom of expression? You sound like a jealous insecure child. It sad that despite the people physically get older it can assume people get wiser. News Flash, we are the only country that ethnically cleanse our own people. you're right we aren't seen as racists. We are seen as idiots. By the way I believe in the state and our forces. If your responsible to upkeep the law then you have the responsibilty to uphold the law in acivilized and dignified manner

Michael ,   Israel   (02.01.06)
Yes the law is the law but a democratic country has an underlining principle. I made liya from the U.S. where the law is the law,but we are allowed to protest. If Israel claims to be democratic. Why are iits citizens not allowed to protest?.
40. What Ehud Olmert has proved conclusively
Kate ,   London   (02.02.06)
Olmert has proved conclusively that he is not nearly big enough to fill Ariel Sharon's shoes. Sharon was able to evacuate the whole of Gaza without one major incident. Olmert evacuates one small settlement and causes scenes reminiscent of race riots in the US in the 1960s and more recently in Paris. I think we are just beginning to realise what we have really lost. Ariel Sharon, how much we have lost. How much we still need you.

43. not Olmert, but the Center of the Country
alan ,   san francisco   (02.02.06)
Don't blame Olmert. Blame Kadima. Blame the majority. So do you know where you stand, you who blame Olmert, in the minority. The minority obviously resorted to violence first. As Olmert stated, they crossed a red line when they attacked the police with rocks. If the minority does not back off from violence there will be a civil war. Does the minority really want to see a civil war going on when the country is faced with Hamas and Iran? If not, stop acting like crazy children. Protest. Speak up at meeting. But cease the violence against the authorities. You are loosing any support you could hope to have through your purile behavior.
44. Alan, you don't get it, do you? Olmert wanted this violence.
AK   (02.02.06)
The troops trampled MKs with their horses, for goodness sake. No Parliamentarian immunity, here. A child is in coma with smashed scull. There are hundreds of kids with broken bones and cracked heads. The hospital personnel is supposed to be shocked by the degree of damage inflicted by the police The fight and all the weapons were on one side only – the police. Olmert and his sidekicks ought to be in jail, right now for what they have done to those people and the country as a whole. To start, he shouldn't even be an acting PM. By the legal machination, permanently comatose or brain-dead Sharon (take your pick but don't tell me he'll recover from his massive stroke to be PM again) was declared TEMPORARILY disable. If he were to be declared permanently disabled, as he so obviously should, Olmert would not be an acting PM, inflicting all this damage but somebody from the Likud -- Bibi. And you want to talk it out? With whom? Give yourself some trouble visiting some blogs, like Boker Tov, Boulder, or Joe Settler for a slightly different perspective, to hear what the other side has to say. See what I have found out in just an hour on the net? The list of various nominated blogs you can find in the JPost site. Don't remember the names.
45. Now they have the nerve to say "pogrom"
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (02.02.06)
They didn't give a d--- about the feelings of the Holocaust survivors and their families with their yellow stars, and now they are using the term "pogrom?!" There are still people out there who remember what a pogrom is, including people who returned to places like Keltz after the war to face a post-Holocaust pogrom.
46. #32 G-D commanded ALL humanity: "YOU SHALL NOT MURDER"

that without the so called "settlers" and the hesder movement, and the "kipot srugot" Israel will not survive. What a way to alienate 1/4 of truly patriotic population!

DF, you said in a response to Yair Lapid's column once that what you particularly valued in Israel was gay rights. Fair enough. Do you know anything about Stonewall? Those RIOTERS launched the world's gay rights movement. The NYC police were brutal, but not NEARLY so brutal as your beloved Yassimniks at Amona. Not only that, the gay RIOTERS were by no means peaceful. There is now impressive video evidence (e.g. at israelnationalnews.com) that the Israeli police beat protestors practicing peaceful civil disobedience who were together in a house, sitting down, with interlocked arms. These protestors were beaten in the head repeatedly. This is illegal, and it is immoral. It requires one to disbelieve everything that the police say until the matter is carefully investigated. It also requires one to consider that violence by the protestors might have been in self-defense. It does not matter how much you hate settlers (not that you know any). You need to check out what I am saying, and if you agree that I am correct, you need to speak out against such police and governmental actions.
50. POLICE STRIP SHIRT OFF JEWISH MOTHER DURING PROTEST
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (02.05.06)
Police Strip Shirt Off Jewish Mother During Protest 17:31 Feb 02, '06 / 4 Shevat 5766 By IsraelNN Staff During a protest at the Shiloh junction north of Amona, a dozen police jumped a mother of nine, delivered strong blows to all parts of her body and then stripped off her shirt in public. The woman, who recently gave birth, told her story to our correspondent on condition of anonymity. She explained that she is ashamed to gain publicity for being stripped in public by the police. Click here to listen to an eyewitness account The incident began when a small group of people, including women and children, began a protest at the police roadblock against the demolition of homes in Amona. One girl crossed the road, and an officer told her to move out of the way. When she talked back to the officer, a policewoman teamed up with the officer, and they pushed her with force to the ground. "At this point," said the mother of nine, "I approached the officers and told them that they were using excessive force for no reason. A friend of mine tried to take a picture of the policewoman's badge, but it was tilted to the side. I extended my hand to straighten her badge, and my friend took the picture." According to the mother, the badge displayed the name: Yana Rosenfeld, #7467875. As per photographer's testimony, this policewoman wore badge "Yana Rosenfeld" "Yana ripped her badge away from me and called out to all the policemen there to arrest me. Within seconds, a dozen officers approached me to arrest me. They grabbed me, pushed me to the ground, and kicked me in my stomach, head, and all parts of my body. Yana kicked me right in my womb. Yana was yelling, 'Hit her hard. Smash her.'" Naomi Shachor, wife of the chief Rabbi of nearby Maaleh Levonah, came over when she saw the policemen trying to arrest a protestor. Naomi says, "We were trying to pull her back towards us. They grabbed her… I saw her on the ground, and they started to pull off her sweater… The ones who did it and pushed her were men... It was a very terrible and shocking moment for me. I am still trying to get myself together from it." The assaulted mother identified this policeman as one of the attackers The assaulted mother continued, "As they assaulted me, they began ripping my shirt. With no shame, several officers deliberately ripped off my shirt, and I was left there exposed. At this point, I started resisting so strongly that they backed off of me a bit, I grabbed my shirt from an officer who was holding it, and fled away in shame."... http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=97820
51. ISRAEL ALLOWS MEGA THOUSANDS OF ILLEGAL ARAB CONSTRUCTIONS
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (02.05.06)
THE SELF DESTRUCT DOUBLE STANDARD by Yoram Ettinger, January 20, 2006 Illegal Arab construction has become a norm, led by the Palestinian Authority (many PA officials reside in illegal homes), bankrolled by Saudi petrodollars and observed by the wide-closed eyes of Israel. Illegal construction has become an effective means to challenge Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem, to undermine major infrastructure and housing projects in the Negev and Galilee, to limit the freedom/security of Jewish movement along major transportation arteries, to facilitate terrorism and to exacerbate crime. While Israel has faced that threat meekishly, it is enforcing the law in an iron-fist manner when it comes to a few scores of Jewish houses throughout Judea & Samaria and Hebron (built on a Jewish-registered property, which was ravaged by Arabs in 1929). Over 1,000 illegal houses are built annually – by Jerusalem Arabs – since 1997. Only 30-40 are demolished by the authorities. About 10,000 illegal houses are built, annually, by "Green Line" Arabs in the Galilee, Negev, "Triangle", Lod and Ramleh. About 100 are demolished. Since 1967, there has been more Arab residential (largely illegal) construction in Jerusalem than Jewish construction in the capital of the Jewish State. But, Israel is enforcing the law in an iron-fist manner when it comes to a few scores of Jewish houses throughout Judea & Samaria and Hebron (built on a Jewish-registered property, which was ravaged by Arabs in 1929). Legal and governance impotence have characterized Israel's battle against illegal Arab construction, which threatens Israel's sovereignty and the rule of law in Jerusalem and all over the country. Palestinian documents, found at the PLO's "Orient House", highlight illegal construction as a key instrument in the campaign to erode the Jewish character of Jerusalem. According to the documents, the Palestinian Authority (PA) has enticed illegal construction in Jerusalem's Arab neighborhoods of Shoafat, Beit Haninah and A-Zaim, in order to prevent continuity between the Jewish neighborhoods of French Hill and Pisgat Ze'ev, and to avert the unification of Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adoumim. Illegal construction is raging along Highway 443, the critical road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, with the aim to transform it into an Arab road, threatening the security of Jewish transportation. While a 1999 Palestinian document anticipated that Israel was determined "to demolish 400-500 illegal houses in Beit Haninah and Shoafat", a 2000 document notified the PA that "no need to worry", since Israel would only demolish a few houses, and illegal construction could proceed with full speed ahead. But, Israel is determined to enforce the law in an iron-fist manner when it comes to a few scores of Jewish houses in Hebron and throughout Judea & Samaria. Illegal Arab construction has become a norm, led by the Palestinian Authority (many PA officials reside in illegal homes), bankrolled by Saudi petrodollars and observed by the wide-closed eyes of Israel. For instance, illegal construction in the Jerusalem Arab neighborhood of Silwan has been a platform for intensified terrorism and felony. Forging real estate titles has proliferated in the Arab sector, robbing state-owned land as well as privately owned Arab land, fueling extortion, protection, gang-wars and the importation of illegal Arab residents from Hebron and other towns to Jerusalem – a fertile ground for terrorism. But, Israel is determined to enforce the law in an iron-fist manner when it comes to scores of Jewish houses in Hebron and throughout Judea & Samaria...
52. POLICE& IDF IN TOTAL WAR AGAINST DEFENSELESS JEWISH CHILDREN
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (02.05.06)
Barbaric Muslim terrorist murderers show no mercy to Jewish children. But Israel's police and IDF don't go to war against the terrorists. Israel's police and IDF go to war against defenseless Jewish children. Police on horseback charged at a gallop into Jewish peaceful protesters. Jews passively sitting down were savagely hit repeatedly in the head with metal batons. This is the U.S. EU, UN/Russia Road Map "peace" plan in action; the total and criminal destruction of Jews' human rights, to give Jewish Land and holy places to Islamic terrorists. Shlomo Wollins of: http://www.israelreporter.com "I have just been contacted by a medic who has been involved with the treatment of the 200+ wounded child protestors. He said that doctors who have worked in Israel for 20 years are shocked at extent of wounds and numbers of injured. The doctor said that when the IDF raids an arab “terror-den”, that the terrorists wounded in raid are usually less-severe than the majority of the cases with the child-protestors." Pictures and video evidence of the criminal, brutal, violent pogrom against Jewish children: http://www.hashkafah.com/index.php?showtopic=20215 http://www.israelreporter.com/ http://www.guysen.com/diaporama.php?file=amona http://www.guysen.com/diaporama.php?file=amona_hosto http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=97758 http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=97839 http://www.landofisrael.info/Video/amona-alimut.wmv

I would say, "Don't compare the settler riots to Stonewall," but you can say anything you want to here, it isn't Hamodia. By the way, I do know some settlers. All too well. And I am still offended by the misuse of the word "pogrom." As someone whose grandfather died of injuries inflicted in one, I have a right to be offended.
