1. Olmert afraid to confront Hamas
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (02.01.06)
So he shows how "tough" he is by beating up Jews. Way to go, Avanti! R U just hoping Hamas will eat you for dessert?
2. There were so many casualties because
(02.01.06)
the officers acted with "sensitivity" to enforce the law. If they'd shot a settler, like they shoot Palestinians in similar scenarios, there'd have been only that one casualty. That's your lesson for next time.
3. Israel Police
Michael ,   Haifa   (02.01.06)
Under normal circumstances I thoroughly dislike the Israeli Police Force...They are often, brutish, stupid and sometimes corrupt. But today they were very definitely the lesser of the two evils and even worthy of some admiration
4. #2, no name
(02.01.06)
You are a moron. If the palestinian authority had collected all the illegal weapons and bombs from all the palestinian terror organizations under its wings that it allowed to flourish while it was in charge, then Israel could use batons instead of bullets. But they never bothered to collect a single weapon. never bothered to be accountable and responsible and act like an independant nation, something they have never been. Now maybe hamas will collect those weapons.....lets not hold our breaths.
5. the struggle has only begun (END)

6. More rocks than gaza?
G ,   shomron   (02.01.06)
I am sure, the settlers are giving yo ua harder fight that hamas. There you only get live bullets. This day I am very sad. The nation of the jews is divided. The government has declared a war on its own people, in stead of the true enemy. We need unity, we need determination, the real enemy is laughing at us. Please Mr, Olmert, do not continue down this path.
7. to israils polise
zozan ,   sweden   (02.01.06)
if the polise doing this for arabs they dont care because i no him they dont have any mersy for any heuman only arabs they are very silfish people...
8. The government crossed a red line
Avi ,   Jerusalem, ISRAEL   (02.01.06)
It will lead to bloodshed one day of the government doesn't wisen up. Fight our Arab enemies- not Jewish brothers and sisters. Ethnically cleansing Jews is unthinkable.
9. To # 4,
Palestinian ,   Palestine   (02.01.06)
would you please explain to us why the Israeli army have not found the weapons and bombs when it was controlling 100% of the Plestinian Territory? would you please explain to us how come the israeli army is not capable to secure the border of israel with West Bank? would you please explain to us how come there are still resistance even after the invasion of 100% of west bank including theareas that where subject to the PA control? all i am trying to say, dont be foolish and beleive what theisraeli leaders and their media say ... because simply they failed in their mission and tried to blame the PA for that. Just think about by your self and dont listen to the media. why the israel government did not disarm settlers since they have illegal weapons? Dont ask others to do something that your government considers legal (settlers weapons)
10. Lions of Judah
Jeremiah ,   Israel   (02.01.06)
Oh they're only beginning to get warmed up. Do you think righteous Jews are going to stand by and let some unelected government slowly rape Hashem's land. You better think again. How stupid of them in the face of Hamas, the rest of world and not to mention their creator Hashem to turn their forces on their brothers. This psychotic government seems quit happy to bankrupt itself fighting its own people, just so that the U.S. and Europe might treat them with respect. Meanwhile, Arab rockets are still being fired on a daily basis at Jewish civilians from the Arabs. These Arabs continue to build illegally all over Israel and even in Jerusalem. These same loving Arabs also continue to destroy sacred archeological sites on the temple mount and elsewhere in Holy Land and won't allow Jews to pray on temple mount. Kadima is the puppet for the Arabs. It's time the Holy Land had real leadership. Kadima is spiritually bankrupt so what if they bankrupt the country in their fanatical rebellion against the Torah. Kadima is a dictatorial, illegal regime that has hijacked Israel and it is only right that righteous Jews rise up and tear their wicked yoke from their necks. They and their supporters will make the redemption come that much faster. If you disturb a bee hive you will get stung. The bee is willing to die to defend their hive but they will sting while doing so. To those in the IDF and Israeli police force... once you help destroy Israel and the Arabs are in control do you think they'll hire you? "Just doing your job"? Stand up and be the Lions you're suppose to be not some castrated, cowardly hyena ... defend Israel and the Jewish people. Fear Hashem! "Hashem is close to all who call upon Him- to all who call upon him sincerely. The will of those who fear Him He will do; and their cry He will hear, and save them. Hashem protects all who love Him; but all the wicked He will destroy."
11. Save the "sensitivity" for the IDF.....
Andy   (02.01.06)
They are the victims here, not the settlers. Israel is thankfully a nation of laws that apply to everyone. Finish the wall and disengage from the Arabs already. If the setlers want to stay in PA controlled territory, then let them.
12. Settlers and their "selective" Judaism
Ian ,   Alberta   (02.01.06)
Isn't it convenient for the settler to hold up the Torah and claim they are defending "Hashem's land." Meanwhile, they seem to ignore the remainder of the teachings of the Torah, disobeying the law, injuring their fellow jews, and making our people look no better than the extremists of any other faith. It must be nice to be able to pick and choose what mitzvot you follow, and still believe yourself to be a righteous jew.
13. To #9
Norman ,   USA   (02.01.06)
Could you please explain to us why you keep spreading the same rhetoric so as to cover-up the PA's violations of Oslo? Israel withdrew from the Palestinian areas after '93, thus putting most of the Palestinian population under PA control. It was the PA's failure to stop terror and incitement that compelled Israel to take over the territories again. Nothing in the media needs to be cited to analyze these facts. Just plain common sense.
14. I renew my previous request !
G ,   Shomron   (02.01.06)
WE NEED UNITY. But if we fail to get it, I agree that a jewish militia will be formed, and its target will be both arabs and jews. I pray to g-d that jewish unity prevails, and we can together show the world what we are made of. Fighting eachother will only escalate our doom. Hashem is looking down upon the jewish state and weeping. PLEASE, ALL JEWS UNITE INCLUDING THE RIOT POLICE
15. #9, ahabal.
(02.01.06)
This is the mentality of the Palestinian, blame everyone but themselves, thats a cultural thing. You are correct. Israel should have collected the palestinian weapons and not given the palestinian authority the chance to do so. Which border are you refering to? THe 1967 armisice line? Disarm settlers? Israel encouraged self defense for the settlers. Why do you think that happened? No one is smuggling weapons into israel for the civilians to use. Invasion of west bank? what invasion is that? Are you saying that israel should have stayed at the 1967 armisice lines while being attacked? are you saying the arabs should not be held accountable for starting wars? are you saying the arabs should not have to pay a price for starting wars to drive the jews into the sea. Take a good look at yourself.

1) would you please explain to us why the Israeli army have not found the weapons and bombs when it was controlling 100% of the Plestinian Territory? Answer: Because you hide it baby carriages, women clothing, kids underwear etc. It's a fact you have weapons, you shoot qassams at us, you keep shooting in the streets for 'allah'? and keep bombing us. # would you please explain to us how come the israeli army is not capable to secure the border of israel with West Bank? It is very much capable of securing the borders which has stopped at least 1300 terrorists like yourself, of course sometimes you rats scrolled in somehow, but everyone has mistakes. # would you please explain to us how come there are still resistance even after the invasion of 100% of west bank including theareas that where subject to the PA control? The resistance is from the arab world, yourself, who is trying to destroy the %2 percent we have of the middle east. And the 1967 borders were not the 'PA's, they were with egypt and jordan (and syria), and when we kicked your ass in the 1967 war most of the jordanian/egypt people flee out and came back known as the 'Palestinians'. The war by the way was started by Jordan and Egypt uniting to destroy Israel. # all i am trying to say, dont be foolish and beleive what theisraeli leaders and their media say ... because simply they failed in their mission and tried to blame the PA for that. Just think about by your self and dont listen to the media. Our media is foolish? I think mentioning 'Al jazeera' concludes this argument. # why the israel government did not disarm settlers since they have illegal weapons? They have stones, stones are not illegal weapons, they are stones. stones are not worshipped here either. And we're human, it was hard to stop because they are our own people and we don't kill our own, or at least most of us.
17. I am ashamed to see this.

yoel   (02.01.06)
Unfortunately, I see tough policemen acting with no mercy. We cannot compare it to the Gaza's pullout as IDF soldiers were involved taht time. In this case, policemen were involved more than IDF soldiers, and they don't have same legitimity. I have the bad impression of watching a middle-age battle where policemen carry heavy armor while riding horses. What's the use of behaving so hard against civilians? I personnally think Israel would have been condemned for brutality by any media if those civilians were palestinians. That's why I personnally feel very sad. Jews have no value, especially when they are called "settlers". Much more pullouts could be offered as "sacrifices for peace". But don't hope getting any kind of sympathy from people who hate us. At the same time, Hamas will claim new victories.

You did not get the point and you will never get it as long as you believe in the mintality of power as a solution. I dont agree with violance and killing against civilians whatsoever whether they are Palestinians or Iraelis. I did not plame Israel for not disarming the palestinian factions. All I was trying to say is it is imposble to so. Even the Israeli Army failed to do that, so why would you plame the PA for failing i the same mission? What I meant by the israeli army is not cabpale to secure the border is the 1967's line. Even with the existance of 470 checkpoints inside the west bank, attacks happened. How many of think why the suicide bombing is happening? why would somebody kill himself and others? and just to let you know, many of th suicide bombers were well educated and were not religously infulanced......... THE ANSWER IS THEY WERE HOPELESS Just for your information I did not accuse any jew or israeli who is a human being of being RAT. # 16 you should fee ashamed of youself for calling a human being rat. is this what you religon says? I dont think so. it is you sick mind.

21. And get one thing, this isent a pullout!
(02.01.06)
The area isent going to be handed over to the Palestinians or anything, IDF soldiers will stay there until all of Hevron is evacuated (inevitable), this isent about the land but about the so called illegal building, for some reason our great democtator Olmert thought it would be good to spill some Jewish blood before the elections.

I think anyone who puts bombs in baby carriages or blows himself up to kill as many civilians as he can to earn 72 virgins in heaven is considered a rat, yes I do, as 'twisted' as _I AM_ . . . They killed theirselves because they were hopeless? is that right? our people don't blow civilians when they are hopeless, and the only reaosn you ARE hopeless is because of the suicide bombings, without them, you wouldn't have had restrictions.. why will we restrict someone who does no harm to us? What's really sick is that somehow made you think you once had a country called palestine, which never happend. Check history buddy, the borders were with egypt and jordan, AND YOU started the war, and now when you lost you claim your property back? you must be kidding... don't start a war and you won't lose property, it's simple and logical as well. We did conquer this areas but it was to protect ourselves, and it seems we still need to protect ourselves so I guess we will keep these territories until we can have peace from your 'peace' persuing hamas choosing people you call Palestinians.

Here's a link for your tutoring: http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/june/5/newsid_2654000/2654251.stm "The Arab states had been preparing to go to war against Israel with Egypt, Jordan and Syria being aided by Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Algeria. On 27 May the President of Egypt, Abdel Nasser, declared: "Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel. The Arab people want to fight." This site also has records of most of our history, read through it. see who started what and who ended up with what.

Look, the argument that israel controled the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza after 1967 does not mean that it is legal for israel to stay there. look at the UN resolutions 383, 442, 194....... the International Law says it is illegal for israel to stay there. So, since israel is a democratic state, then how come it did not implement what International Law yet? Once israel withdraw from palestinina territory, you will not see any violance or bombings. In fact, if palestinian continue violance after israel's withdrawal, then the Internationa Law would come to prevail. It is that simple, just withdraw from palestinian territory and you will live in peace forever.

26. To the Palestinian (#9)
(02.01.06)
I don't know if he can explain but I can. The IDF found a lot of weapons in the West Bank, at the begining of operation Defensive Shield 3 tons of explosives were found in Jenin. Yes, your heroes hide 3 tons of explsives in your city, if that thing goes off Jenin refugee camp becomes a large hole in the ground. Since the border is quite long and we don't have enough soldiers to put every few meters we can not fully secure the border without having a fence. Ofoucrse there will be ressistance, we can not operate inside the West Bank cities without being attacked. Unlike the Palestinian police that can walk freely in the streets and arrest anyone that carries a weapon. Settlers don't own illegal weapons, the weapons were given to them by the IDF after they passed the training for using that weapons.

Norman ,   USA   (02.02.06)
Suicide bombings come from hopeless people? You got to be kidding. Children are taught in Palestinian schools that Jews are the devil and should be exterminated. You call that hopeless? Sounds like blatant race hatred if you ask me. It's quite simple how the PA can stop terrorism. Use the guns and ammo the Israelis gave them to round up the terrorists instead of using them to kill innocent men, women, and children. That would be a good place to start. And maybe when the Palestinians take greater responsibility for their actions, Israel won't have to respond with security barriers, checkpoints, or what have you. There are no BORDERS per se from 1967. They're armistice lines left over from the 1948 war between Egypt and Jordan. Many have already stated that Israel can't withdraw to these lines because that would leave it totally defenseless. So there are no "borders" to secure. Only final negotiations will determine Israel-Palestinian borders, which won't happen for as long as the Palestinians refuse peace.

"The settlers wanted blood," said "one senior officer while standing in front of the homes as they were being demolished. "That is what they asked for and that is what they got" How can a Jew say that he beat a fellow Jew bloody and be proud of it? What is becoming of the state of Israel? Maybe Satmar has it right.
30. To #24
Norman ,   USA   (02.02.06)
Resolutions 242 and 338 (not 383 and 442) never stated for Israel to withdraw from all the territories. They also said that Israel has a right to live within secure borders. The '67 lines are not secure borders. International law didn't do a thing when Jordan attacked Israel in 1948and dispelled an indigenous Jewish population from Jerusalem and the WB. Why would international law prevail if Israel should leave the territories? The UN condemns Israel when Palestinian civilians are killed, but sits idle when Israelis civilians are butchered. Where is international law then?
