a cartoon is exactly the same as murder - an eye for an eye. These muslims are extremists. they offend judaism and the west with their cartoons and caricatures, but it's not so good when the same is done to them. Here in Britain Muslims avidly use our freesom of speech, especially on the radio talk shows complaining about almost everything, our customs, our values, our culture, everything about the west seems to offend them - yet millions of them live in the west! Why it's considered as freedom of speech when it comes to insult others religious belief, while it's anti Semitism to make any negative comment about Jews? In Denmark any one who suspects the Holocaust would be jailed!! So why does the world deal with double standards when it comes to the issue of Moslems and Jews?

Those cartoons are indeed racists. The Islamists reaction, of flag burning, generalizing against all Danes, and calls for ‘holy war’ are above and beyond any scale of proportions. When Jews, Christians, Buddhists, and others, are offended by such cartoons; they do civil demonstrations in front of the specific journal responsible, or the publishing house that owns it. And if they are both in another country, a delegation goes to the embassy of that country with a letter of protest with multiple signatories. A letter whose rhetoric does not target an entire nation. And all that with full diplomatic respect. The description of Jews in cartoons in the Islamic world is far worse, far widespread, far longer a period of time. And in many cases, official government policy.

The drawing/printing of these cartoons was thoughtless and stupid and bound to incite. But it is not blasphemeing, as the vocal muslims are saying. Mohammed was just a man who persistently sinned. Only G-d can be, unless of course you are adding gods to God; in which case this, under Islamic law deserves a very sever punishmentl, I believe.

As a citizen of Denmark I would like to thank you for your support. It has been very frustrating in these past months, that we were so alone in this. Not until this week has there been any support from foreign media or governments. And still it's very sporadic.

The cartoons show Mohammed as a terrorist, which is what he was. So how do the Muslims react? By threatening violence, the very thing the cartoons made an issue of. How ironic is it that Muslims complain about a cartoon that reflects the truth about their religion. If it was not the truth they would laugh it off, not go crazy for months screaming about a stupid picture. In Saudi Arabia they have so little respect for other religions that you will go to jail for possesing a bible. Where does Islam respect other religions? One Muslims claimed Islam is a perfect religion. How is it perfect? The people are intolerant of everyone other than Muslims. by the way, this whole cartoon issue was started up by muslims who were harboured and lived in Denmark. They were concerned about that cartoon contest. Finally they went to Egypt (!) to complain about it, among others by some religious leaders. where it went to is well known. in my opinion, the muslims, especially who live in EU, should first make up their minds where the whole mess is originated from. afterwards the may yell about fair and unfair.

jews and christians under islamic rule were called dhimmis and were given special second class citizen status. Dhimmis had to conform to the sharia relative to their status, had to wear distinctive signs in the streets, as well as pay special taxes relative to their status. They were prohibited to adress muslims shouting and had to dress in a more than humble manner. Conversely, in to-day's western world, muslims are not given second class citizenship and enjoy freedom of speech as fought for by generations of europeans. Muslims not being in a position of power in the west should conform with the preeminent values of their adoption country, whether they like it or not. they should be reminded that freedom of speech is inexistent to-day in most of their country of origin.

All ethnic groups are protected by laws against racism in Europe and not just Jews. It is perfectly correct to protect people against attacks on that which they cannot change: their race, their colour, the ethnic group into which they were born. A person, on the other hand, chooses his religion and it is thus totally logical in a free and democratic society to protect the freedom of speech which permits attacks on religion. The difference between Muslims and Jews is that the former are followers of a religion and the latter a people. If a person were to say that the Jewish or Muslim religion is quite mad, that should be protected speech. If a person says that Jews or Arabs are intrinsically evil or corrupt, that should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

as the guests of this world in which we feel ourselves like owner of it, each nation, and followers of religion should respect the value of others. as a muslim ı recommend all my friend to read the holy book Quran in which the truth is written, human rights are championed, respect is advised...
