2. Turkey's
Jason ,   USA   (02.16.06)
Maybe Israel should start meeting with opposition Kurdish groups from Turkey.
3. STOP CHASING HAMAS !!!
andrew ,   miami, fl   (02.16.06)
Let them go whereevr they want - meet whoever they want, do whatever they want. let them see khaled mishaal - he's ugly, has hate and treachery in his eyes etc...let him go and show everyone when you tell people that they cant do something - that makes them want to do it more. If nothing else - just to publicly show that little israel doesnt control them. All you do is make israel look weaker and weaker when nations do met them im sure at the meetings - people will say to themselves...hmmm maybe these guys (hams) really do suck
4. Livni's Party (Kadima) Brought Hamas to Power
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (02.16.06)
What right does she have to complain? Olmert/Kadima decided to allow Hamas, a terrorist organization that has murdered hundreds of Israelis with nail bombs, to run in elections and to come to power within the Land of Israel. Now she complains that Turkey allows them to visit? Is she this stupid and bereft of reason? Look in the mirrior Tzipi if you want to see how this happened.
5. Jerry , NYC, USA : and cats invented rats
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.16.06)
you are certainly having a brainstorm that equals to a a serious stroke
6. Let terrorists meet whom they like, make those countries pay
David Landman ,   Boston, MA   (02.16.06)
recall ambassadors, make those countries move their embassies to Israel. Make the countries do things, dont complain, give other countries penalties. Appeasing terrorists means loss of Israeli support internationally politically and economically. Israel should use its ability to DEMAND economic and political advantages from countries that meet with Hamas or Withdraw ambassadors from those countries.
7. Recognize...
Ruben ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (02.16.06)
the Armenian Genocide if Turkey recognizes Hamas government. That would be just right.
8. turkey why not
benjamin ,   monsey   (02.16.06)
kadima gave these murderers a platform and now they cry crodile tears. Fools!!!! Soon we are going to see the arch killer released from jail... kadima is removing any reason for these animals to join the cizilived world! Cry for the Jews you G-d forbid destroyed in Gaza!!!
9. In less than two months the Kadimonists
Kadimonist ,   Helem   (02.16.06)
Managed to ruin every possible thing, here's an example : They destroyed the entier Gaza settlement infasture without planning or planning ahed and in the most inefficiant way. They (Still) havent found a solution to the Kassams that blow up daily and get deadlier and closer. They (Still) havent found a solution for the 10,000 refugees they created. They didnt forsee the Hamas coming to power, even though everyone else did. After the Hamas came to power they panicked, talked nonsense and embarrssed us infront of the whole world. They're angry that people want to invite Hamas after they gave 250,000,000 shekels to Hamas themselves. Now, after they managed to screw everything up with amatuer mistakes and without thinking they realised they first have to sit down and think about what should they do.
10. Invite the Kurds to the Knesset
J K ,   NYC, USA   (02.16.06)
11. give them plenty of rope!!
jf ,   nashville,usa   (02.16.06)
trust me...they will hang themselves! In fact, offer to pay Khaleds expenses to travel around speaking to the press. Every time they spew their hate....it hurts them.
12. Democracy
Alejandro ,   Chicago   (02.16.06)
They won a free election.... I'm confused, first you claim arabs are pigs with brutal regimes, but then when true democracy yeilds someone you do not like you slauter them again with words.... what is it that you really want? Gaz all Palastinians? is this really what you want?! Hamas won an election... DEAL WITH IT!
13. A different approach
LA ,   Ankara, Turkey   (02.16.06)
I do understand why Israel is upset. However Turkey is not recognizing Hamas and will ever do unless it gives up the violence and recognizes the obvious Israel government. On the other hand, isolating an elected party will do nothing but marginalizing them. They should have some hope that good will come from peace and negotiations. Otherwise the sad events (especially the suicide bombings- which Turkey condemns) are likely to continue. Turkey is being asked to take sides. But the goal is to end this conflict. Hamas should be convinced to play it by the book. But how will you convince a party if you do not talk to them? Israel should let Turkey (under supervision) try to soften Hamas. Trying would not do harm. After talks if Hamas does not change its ways, you can be sure that Turkey will take its place next to Israel.
14. Hamas Should Have Been Banned from Election
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (02.16.06)
But Olmert/Livni/Rice/Kadima decided to let them run in the elections. Now they complain that Hamas won and is talking with others. Olmert/Livni/Rice/Kadima brought this disaster about. They bear responsibility for it.
15. Alejandro, An Arab: misses what democracy is
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.16.06)
Free elections alone are not sufficient for a People to become a true democracy, and in fact to show any readiness to become a Democratic Sovereign State; The culture of the poeple to form a country and political institutions and civil service must also change. This is an especially difficult cultural shift to achieve in poeple where transitions of power have historically taken place through violence and terrorism. Hamas is not a democracy and never will be, which is evident in all their press conferences, and esp. Their Charter . for Hamas to be recognized, it must disarm its cadres, publicly renounce terror and recognize Israel. Which it has already loud and clear denounced. Tyranny of the majority, is this Democracy with Hamas? Mainly considered as window-dressing for plutocracy, oligarchy, dictatorship and other non-democratic forms if they form a government. Hamas's so called democracy, is regarded as a dishonest farce used to keep the masses from getting restless first, then becomes in fact rather a conspiracy for making them restless for some political agenda, that serves further terrorism. Hamas will not only deepen the crisis in that region but also lead to further Islamic Jihad, since Hamas already gives the green light for same. Therefore Free elections have NOT shown that a people can become a democracy, solely by having free elections. So in real terms, one election is not ever a sign of democracy Terrorists can only form a terrorist State, nothing else. Where do you see democracy in this ?
16. To Alejandro (12)
Shai ,   Israel   (02.16.06)
If you elected a Senator who refused to take an oath to exercise his obligations to defend the US Constitution, would you also claim that the entire US political system should nevertheless relate to him as a representative of his constituency? There are some things that are bigger than who the Palestinians voted for. One of them is the entire set of principles that the PA was supposed to defend, which they have not defended, and which the Hamas outright says they will not defend. Why SHOULD the world give a damn about the who the Palestinians voted for if their elected government doesn't give a damn about the entire framework that gave birth to a PA and gave it legitimacy, namely, two states living side by side in peace in accordance with negotiated boundaries defined by UNSCResolutions?
17. Don't put too much in it...
Osman Karacan ,   Istanbul, Turkey   (02.16.06)
... after all, the Prime Minister is NOT seeing Hamas, and the FM says "Put down your arms, and recognize Israel". What's wrong with saying that ? Isn't it a clear and concise message? Isnt it 100% liek the message the entire world says to the PA right now ? If PKK members visited Likud members, and the Israeli PM said "lay down weapons and dont work for a divided Turkey" I'd be happy. It would show that Israel was Turkeys friend and wanted turks to have peace. It would show, that not even a visit to Israel by the PKK changed that view. Turkey has NOT recognized Hamas, will NOT recognize Hamas and was among the first countries to recognize Israel. Turkey accepted 200.000 jewish immigrants in 1492 when the spanish inquisition expelled them. Theodor Hertzl studied Law in Istanbul - and Turkey has always been on Israels side. Lets not forget who are our real friends here. Turkey IS Israels's friend, and will remain so. What is a real friend ? Besides, Kadima should NEVER have allowed Hamas to participate the elections. If you ask me, no Islamic fundamentalist party should be allowed to participate in ANY democratic election. This goes for AKP in Turkey too, a party I hate with my guts. Le Hitra'Ot Osman from Istanbul
