1. Its good to see hockey spreading out more

But they should focus more on developing men's hockey than womens. Womens hockey isn't very popular or competitive around the world and shouldn't even be an Olympic event until it is. That it could grow in Israel is a good sign for its development but as an Olympic event, it should be tossed like baseball was. I've watched the Canadian women's hockey events for the last few years and its just a joke. Canada and the US are the only teams in competition, they don't just win, they overwhelm every other team. Our girls just played Russia and there's only even 250 girls registered to play in Russia and that's a hockey country. They should focus on the men, the system is already set up for them, with better leagues and the chance to make a career out of it. What team are they even making up, they're all North Americans. Shouldn't an Israeli team actually be Israeli? Hell, that's like if I got together Canadians from English heritage and made a team for Great Britain in 2010.

Chris, you dont understand Israel. It is mean to be a place to welocme any Jew regaurdless of nationality. As for the makeup of olympic hockey teams. I beleive many of the members of the German hockey team are from the U.S.
5. Chris is waaaay off the mark

Chris - please stop being an armchair critic and at least turn on your TV or read a newspaper! Didn't you know that Sweden defeated the USA and plays Canada for the gold medal today? And if you want a hockey thrill - go to Amiens, France on April 30 and you will see Team Great Britain play Team Israel. The Brits have been working hard trying to make it back into the Olympics. If our mens' team success is any indication, our womens' team will make it to the 2010 Olympics! You're just plain wrong on your facts, Chris. Womens' hockey has been growing around the world for years and Israel will be part of that growth. If the Russians have a problem, maybe they should get some help from Sweden. Hockey is a great game for boys AND girls - men AND women. Catch up on your Canadian history and find out about Abbie Hoffman.
