B"H The list for this election has already been submitted, right YNET? Please clarify. Does this measure only apply a few years out? If so, the timing of this measure is very effective. Setup the next administration, but NOT THIS ONE? YNET, please clarify the implication of the timing of this move on the current election! And what process is there if the PM does not honor a referendum promise? Is it still ignore the voter, or is there a better safety net that has been developed THERE?

Typical Bibi-media relationship. Bibi is doing something that no other party is doing by improving Israeli democracy, and hardly anyone sees it because the editor didn't put it at the top with a little picture. This subtle media bias is ruining our country.

Labor is the only party with true primaries (actually there are reserved positions there as well) and it has been a series of fraud scandals, one after the other. Peretz's manipulations amounted to a histadrut pusch with the fraudulent registration of 1000s of new members. On the other hand the Central Committee model only makes sense for small parties like Meretz and Shinui where the absence of direct elections has marginal importance to it's voter base.
