1. I agree 100%
DR ,   Florida, USA   (02.21.06)
The US started using the term "Axis of Evil" and it still pertains to the mid east situation. these countries are hell-bent on destroying Israel and demolishing the only true democracy in the region. They want to rid the world of western values and create a muslim world...good luck!!! All the people who write and say differently...wait and see. This axis will form and this axis will fall.
2. we ARE at war
jf ,   nashville   (02.21.06)
it's not a question of IF we are at war or who will strike next....we ARE at war and it is a question of how long we let it go on.....
3. Link the text and see why Kahane is right
Steve ,   USA   (02.22.06)
B"H Put the link to the charter text. Quote: He invited Council members to read Hamas’ charter, a key provision of which calls for the murder of Jews and the annihilation of the Jewish state.
4. Word war
Mauricio ,   Brazil   (02.22.06)
I do agree that a world war may start at the middle east. Imagine that Russia may want to protect one of its allies and waht will happen then

What a punch of idiots and fanatics ynet readers, what is that we are at war, these people have no idea what is going in this reagion, i don't know why such sick people want all the time to see war and killings of everyone, the people in middle east have to learn how to accept and live with each other, there is no way that one party or anoth use the power to eleminate that other, just everone know that there is a just solution , lets work on that...
7. Dream On...
Tan Chee Boon ,   Malaysia   (02.22.06)
Stop hiding your heads in the sand: "It's the occupation, stupid!" as American political strategists would say, but dare not. Treat the Palestinians as human beings and the 'axis of evil' will have the rug pulled from under its feet.
8. expect nothing but blood and destruction from these lunatics
Barry ,   Tokyo   (02.22.06)
Unfortunately in this high-tech globalized war, the whole concept of warfare (in the classic sense) has changed for good. Nobody is immune from wanton terrorism. As GWB said right after 9/11, either you are for terror and against it. He couldn't have put it more succintly. First step is for the loony-left to be pushed out of power in Europe. A unified stance has to be taken against by the EU against global Islamic terror whether it is of the Chechnyan, Palestinian, or the al-Quaeda brand. At the end of the day, they are all criminals that need to be eradicated, the quicker the better....

10. Damascus' Continual Status as a City

The prophet Isaiah has an unfulfilled prophecy---Isaiah 17:1.
11. WW 3 already started, albeit in a nonconventional way
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (02.22.06)
The third world war has already begun, with the three axis members mentioned gearing up for a nuclear attack on the west. First they plan on wiping out Israel. Then onto the US. They clearly have a plan. The question is - does Israel and the US have the moxy to stop them?
12. And Israel does nothing
Marcel ,   Florida   (02.22.06)
Nothing but talk soft and allow Hamas to gain stature and more power. The blame lies with spineless Olmert who did nothing before the election and does nothing now.
13. hammas
James Kitchens ,   Oceanside, Ca.   (02.22.06)
The one thing that I don't understand is that the muslims can write or depict anything they want to re: the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob without any ramifications to them but one cartoon that was changed and redrawn by muslims to incite hate seems to me to be Islamic stupidity
14. Kahane, Yemach Shmo
David ,   Yerushalayim   (02.22.06)
Kahane, Yemach Shmo, was not right about very much. He and his violent, racist supporters brought, and continue to bring, shame on Am Yisroel. They murdered other Jews and try to foment a civil war which endangers the State of Israel. They act as though frum, but are selective in their religious beliefs and actions, which are not driven by Torah but by their politics. They pretend to be Religious Zionists but have done more to destroy Religious Zionism than any terrorist group could have done. They are the mirror image of Hamas.

Jeff ,   Gulfport, USA   (02.22.06)
It is in my sincere belief that we are not at war with Islam, but Islam is at war with us. I don't text this out of hatred, just out of facts. I read article after article, watch video after video on how Islam must rule the world. Israel is the canary in the coal mine, what happens to this Nation, is a prelude of what will happen to us all. We can not appease evil, or make excuses for it, this will only make the evil stronger to destroy us. Best wishes to the Jews of Israel and to the freedom loving people in all lands, that are under attack from Islamic terror. Jeff
16. And who told you there is not going to be a war.
Muslim   (02.22.06)
Prophet Muhammad foretold us the muslims that the Day of Judgment will not come until a day comes and we fight the Jewish entity. In such a war, trees and stones will talk, an implication of how angry this land is going to be on Jews. This is the Islamic version of Armegeddon!
17. Netanyahu is our solution!
Amir   (02.22.06)
It's obvious although he had made mistakes in his politcal career, still Bibi remains the logical choice after Sharon...He knows how to deal with the HAMAS and stand firm against Iran and squeeze Syria, things which Olmert won't be able to perform as P.M. on the long term
18. Kahane LOVED Jews, was not a racist. but smart enough to
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (02.22.06)
know that the muslims had such a hatred of Jews that they could never live in peace with Jews. There are 22 arab nations where Jews are not welcome and there certainly can be ONE land, a land given by G-d to the Jews where they can live in peace without terrorism from muslims. Having one country for Jews is not racist, it is common sense, something that not everyone has, especially if their friends are the loony left.
19. Hamas
Zvi ,   Los Angeles USA   (02.22.06)
In the 1920s and 1930s people ignored Mein Kampf Now they ignore the Hamas Charter and for the same reason that it only concerned killing Jews But the war engulfed all of Europe and beyond But the world forgets Israel must rely on the IAF IDF and Navy to protect the Jewish people AM YISRAEL CHAI

21. Roof of Israel's Roof - Gog, land of the Magog
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (02.22.06)
Neither Gog nor Magog is identified geographically in Yekhezqeil (38-9). The only link to Magog, assumed by commentators thru the ages, has been geographic speculation (be-Reishit 10.2; Divrei Aleph 1.5). The etymology of Gog and Magog are unknown. Neither is the etymology of their most likely Hebrew cognate: gawg ("roof"). "M," in Hebrew, can be a prep. prefix meaning "from" or "more than." Thus, Gog can mean "roof" and Magog "from or above the roof." Historically, military threats to Israel have arrived from the north - Israel's gawg (via Syria). Today, Syria has become dependent on its own benefactor - Gog: Iran. Can Gog be Syria, the land of Magog (its roof, Iran)? We also see that Iran is attempting to position itself as the head of the global Muslim jihad, a Caliphate; a global Magog. If you're not aware of these things you need to change where you study. Paqid 16, The Netzarim Israeli Orthodox Jew www.netzarim.co.il
22. #13 - Why the Muslims are mad at the offensive cartoons
jeff ,   Sydney, Australia   (02.22.06)
I guess, I am preaching to an atheist, but here are my 2 cent worth ... "There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is our prophet" is our main main article of faith. We cannot be a Muslim, if we were to stop worshipping Allah and if we do not follow the tenets of Prophet Mohammed. We love our Prophet an order of a magnitude more than we love our parents and children and god knows we love our parents and children very much. The Jyllands-Posten editor is not some innocent freedom of expression guru, but a neo-con responsible for publishing quite a few anti-muslim articles over recent years. His trips to the neo-con guru and a famous muslim hater Daniel pipes betrays his intentions. On the other hand, it would have made more sense if he published cartoons on Bin-Laden or Zarqawi. There those who justify the current catoons as reciprocating the ant-semitic, anti-jewish or anti-western cartoons in the middle-eastern newspapers, which no doubt are present, but believe me, the arabs do not publish them to exercise their freedom of expression, but as a way of depicting their enemies. Those who want to publish the cartoons should clearly say that we are the enemies of Islam and not hide behind the freedom of expression. I wonder if the Europeans forefathers who died fighting for the freedom of expression are now rolling in their graves seeing their efforts used to degrade the great religion of Islam
23. would we be happy with peace anyway?

or is our inner drive for confrontation overwhelming our sweet words?

gm ,   south africa   (02.22.06)
Your argument is ridiculous. You said arabs/muslims "do not publish them [anti-semitic cartoons] to exercise their freedom of expression, but as a way of depicting their enemies". Is not not a freedom of expression? Are you also saying that Jews and western societies are enemies of Islam? If that's the case, leave austrlia, go live in iran / syria. Jews don't behave like muslims when you publish derogatory cartoons about us. What is even more ridiculous, is that a Jew didn't even publish the cartoons of Mohammed, so your reputation is beginning to spread. Why don't you think about what image you would like to protray to the world and if you want to participate in a global village, or if you want to live in isolation. Right now, the muslim world is beginning to isolate itself from the rest of the world despite the west trying to make efforts to the contrary.

Palestine has never existed . . . as an autonomous entity. There is no language known as Palestinian. There is no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc. Keep in mind that the Arabs control 99.9 percent of the Middle East lands. Israel represents one-tenth of one percent of the landmass. But that's too much for the Arabs. They want it all. And that is ultimately what the fighting in Israel is about today . . . No matter how many land concessions the Israelis make, it will never be enough. It has never been the name of a nation or state. It is a geographical term, used to designate the region at those times in history when there is no nation or state there. The word itself derives from "Peleshet", a name that appears frequently in the Bible and has come into English as "Philistine". The Philistines were mediterranean people originating from Asia Minor and Greek localities. They did not speak Arabic. They had no connection, ethnic, linguistic or historical with Arabia or Arabs. The name "Falastin" that Arabs today use for "Palestine" is not an Arabic name. It is the Arab pronunciation of the Greco-Roman "Palastina"; which is derived from the Peleshet, (root Pelesh) which was a general term meaning "dividers", "penetrators" or "invaders". The use of the term "Palestinian" for an Arab ethnic group is a modern political creation which has no basis in fact - and had never had any international or academic credibility before 1967.

What about international law. If the existence of Iraeli was voted by the international community, so was a state of Palestine. Israel never comply with international law or UN resolution. Can they be two laws. One for the rest of the world no law applying to the state of Israel. This is call anarchy. If Israel has the right to exist so does Palestine. What happened 2000 ago is call history. If you talk about Greco-Roman "Palastina" lets go further back to the tribes of Israel invading the land of milk and honey killing natives population to occupy this land. Your argument dont stand This land belongs to both Israeli and Palestinian people.

#28- read Mr. Goldwater's remarks above you....that ends your debate...you are completely wrong about the history of these people. #22- If your religion is so great, why are your people so sub-par??? All they do is riot, yell and scream for death of everything. Bloodshed is the only answer to everything with extreme Islam. Maybe moderates like you need to spread the idea of tolerance and peace, but it seems like the moderate Muslim voice is never strong enough. Until the radical Islam that we see disappears, your religion will only spiral downward and continue to shame itself in front of the whole world. Sorry...that is reality.
30. Coming War
Mr. T ,   Germany   (02.22.06)
Arabs beware you are on the losing side. Just like the demise of the Pharaoh of Egypt so will yours be. You've had thousands of years to develop and Israel has outdeveloped you since 1948 with support from America who is only 229 years old. That tells me something.
