What of the DANGEROUS SURVIVALISTS that have put their LIVES on the line in DEFENSE of ISRAEL? I see no reason that such arms (this rifle is an AR15, though) should be illegal to import or posses, this is simply dumb.

About a century ago, every gentleman was expected to be armed and able to defend himself, his family, and the honor of any woman in distress. I would move to Israel tomorrow if I could bring my gun collection. Most good, honest American's like gun's it's a hobby for us. Israel is like a fascist state when it comes to personal firearms ownership. If I am an Israeli citizen with a clean criminal record I should be allowed to purchase any weapons I please. The .50 caliber Barrett , M16, FN MAG, NEGEV, Mini UZI, etc. should all be legal for private civilian ownership in Israel to anyone who can afford them. Israel should encourage the shooting sports more as some of the finest military innovations come out of the civilian sector. The Barrett was designed for the civilian market. Here in America I am building two fully legal, semi-automatic Galil rifles with IMI barrels. I can own whatever I want as long as I am not a criminal. The Israeli governent makes everything a pain in the damn ass. Why busting this guy? We could use him after the poor performance of the IDF in Lebanon. Israel needs people like this don't you fools get it? He is a prepared American and is not trusting the security of his family or himself to the IDF and other authorities. THE CELL PHONE IS NOT GOING TO SAVE YOUR BEHINDS, BUT THE GUN WILL! Most Israelis in the army treat their guns like junk and are too busy on their cell phones. Wake up people clean your rifles properly, IRON your uniforms, cut your damn hair, and pull any piercings out. Take some pride in being an Israeli soldier. The sloppy nature of Israeli soldiers is inexcusable, but well known. That has to change because you may laugh, but it is the sign of a weakening army. Shape up kids and give my American Israeli friend his guns back.

All good Jewish and Druze Israeli citizens should be allowed to bear whatever arms they want within reason. I consider the m-16, any sniper rifle, m-14, UZI, Mini UZI, Micro UZI, Galil ARM, Galil SAR, Micro Galil, FN MAG, NEGEV, any pistol, any revolver, any shotgun to be well within reason. Why do Israelis and Jews consider someone who's hobby is guns to be crazy? What if I told you any Jew in the world who doesn't own a gun is a sheep waiting to be slaughtered. I don't remember any armed Jews who got sent to Auschwitz. Hitler outlawed private firearms ownership and that is essentially what Israel is doing by making legal gun ownership so difficult. I had always heard that Israel allowed it's citizens to openly carry firearms - that it was quite common to see an ordinary Joe walking around with an "assault" rifle. As a matter of fact, on occasion I've told friends that America should follow Israel's example of "frontier justice". I guess I was misinformed - very disappointing... And settlers over 25 who never got to serve in the IDF can NEVER get a gun permit? UNBELIEVABLE!
